We are getting far off of the Hurricane Irma topic, but this is an interesting issue to me, so one more thing. I've shared before that Mrs. TCD is a pre-school teacher. She teaches 4 year olds, and has done it for years. Every year, after the first few weeks of school, she does an assessment to see where the kids are. It is a sad phenomenon that kids know less and less basic information each year. You would think that with all the technology out there, they would have some kind of advantage. But, the opposite is true. Kids do not know their ABC's. They especially do not know how to

  4. Today was a beach day! We all slept in some a little longer than the rest can you guess who? I started laundry hubby got breakfast started. Today would be my last time meeting my new friend and her Mom. What I love about camping is you can have a conversation with someone in a bathroom in your pjs and it's normal. We had breakfast I finished up the laundry we packed up our beach stuff and we where on are way. First we need to make a stop at the outlets my husband dropped us off and went to get gas. My son went into Nike Niece and I head off to go to Disney. On the way there we got stopped

Amen to that. But, what's really disturbing is how many really young children- younger than 5- I see in strollers in Disney parks and elsewhere with some kind of electronic gadget in the stroller. Those kids are so focused on those darned things that they completely miss what's going on around them. TCD

But that's how society as a whole is progressing. Computers/smart phones can be a blessing or a curse. Remember when computers were going to make jobs easier and cut down on your workload and hours spent at work? All they did was add more work. People are getting so wrapped up in artificial worlds they no longer enjoy whats around them. Wait until they come up with a food synthesizer ala The Jetsons, people will never leave home!

  8. We cleaned my car the other day and I did find something that was either grapes turned raisins or they actually were raisins when they were dropped between seats.

  9. I just heard through the coconut telegraph that Jungle Cruise reopened last night. So, the rumors about substantial hurricane damage were not true. But, I still haven't seen an official announcement about Jingle Cruise one way or the other for this year. I still believe the rumor that there will be no Jingle Cruise this year. TCD

    Public events at FW?

Unfortunately security at Disney isn't well thought out or consistent. You get scrutinized like crazy before entering one of the theme parks. You can get hassled trying to enter a parking lot at Disney hotels (not all of them). But park your car at Disney Springs, use the FREE bus transportation and you have the keys to the kingdom-access to all the hotel/resort areas no questions asked. Once again its that false sense of safety fostered by Disney. It really excels at "perceived" security vs "actual" security. Won't stop me from enjoying my visits to Disney but its definitely a place to use y

  11. Made it. Thanks. Since the beer lines are down, I will have a small but quality supply of beer (St Pauli Girl and Leinenkugels Summer Shandy) along with Kungaloosh and frozen pina coladas at the Outback. Stop by for an adult beverage.
