  1. I will take part of the blame for that. I have been very sick during 2017 and I am not a very public person. The WWW group has known because we all talk privately on our phones. However, I have been doing all I can just to keep my head up at work. In addition, I was attacked at school after my surgery (to fix what was wrong) and had to immediately change jobs. If you noticed, I disappeared. I didn't mean to but something had to give and that is why I have some other people who help me in the background who I could not thank enough. My goal in 2018 is to hopefully get everything back up

  4. Let me start with letting you all know there are NO pictures on this mini trip report plus my computer skills do not help in being able to post if there were any. We did seem to think that this was the busiest holiday season we have been to at WDW so far and we have been there 4 times over the last 8 years so about every other year. 1st we did Oktoberfest for our Christmas dinner and my oldest son (26) asked why we have never been there before, this is now is favorite restaurant but his mind will change a few times before this trip was over. 2nd We finally got to see Pandora la

  8. Our first Christmas at the Fort / Disney – We were supposed to be there 12/10-12/15, however due to a wedding that our daughter was in our final exams for our son, I knew that week would be not doable – so when we came back home in November I logged in and was able to grab 12/17-20, but only by booking one day at a time. Grrr – then the next day I grabbed the 22nd and the next day the 21st, so we were set. I then called and had them all combined. We arrived on 12/17 which was a Sunday. We haven’t ever checked-in on a Sunday, but since the wedding was on Saturday, a Sunday check-in

  9. We'll be making our first visit to Fort Wilderness, probably in January of 2019. We'l be full timing by then in our 43 foot class A, with our Honda CRV as our toad. I read how most people like to have a golf cart when camping at Fort WIlderness. Will we be able to access what we need by car? Thanks!

  10. Possible return of BeaverTails to Walt Disney World. The fried dough topped with sweets is a Canadian delicacy. At one time it was one of the must-have snacks at Epcot, where a small kiosk in the Canadian pavilion consistently drew long lines. 11. I hate boats, and always avoided cruises because I thought I'd be fearful being onboard one. But I have no issues on a big ship, it turns out. The bus ride is about an hour, IIRC. Take Z to the pub and let the boy fill up. I REALLY broke my diet on this cruise. I never eat wings at home, but I did on the Wonder. Which lead to eating further things I never eat at home. Which lead to weight gain. LOL. There you go, Kelly. Take Z for some wings. And Nick, I like your style....using the boy to distract the female CM's while you scarf down som

I had to wear socks in my Crocs! And I wore long pants out running errands the other day instead of shorts. Long pants are for work, church, and funerals only!

  15. Ok, we have now arrived at Thursday....day 2 of our Birthday cruise trip. We awoke at the Wilderness Lodge at our usual "somewhat early" time. I don't recall exactly, but I never sleep until 7 so it was probably in the 6:30 range or so. I'm always up first, so I made some hotel room coffee and drank it while waiting for INC to wake up. By this point, it may have been 7:30 or so, so we had some time to kill. Our meeting time for the DCL bus wasn't until 11:30, per this letter that was left in our room the evening before. If anyone was ever curious about the procedure for taking the

  17. Thanks! The new Happily Ever After (HEA) fireworks show is very different from Wishes in that a big part of the show is projections on the castle. Because of this, the best viewing spots are those with a clear view of the castle. And you don't want to be too close to the castle. The best spot I've found for HEA viewing is on Main Street, about halfway between the ice cream shop and the partners statue. This area gets extremely crowded, and you typically will need to claim your spot an hour to an hour and a half before the fireworks. The bad thing about this spot is that late comers

  18. A couple of people posted, wondering if Disney was checking state/federal databases once you made a reservation to see if you were licensed to carry a firearm. Then the guards and CMs would have that info when you checked in and question you about firearms. I think that is bordering on conspiracy theory.

  22. It really was an amazing wedding. I had a trip report on here but the pictures were on photobucket and are now gone. Here are a few pictures: She got ready at the Grand Floridian: The ceremony was at the Wedding Pavilion: The reception was at the Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk: And there was a dessert party on the water outside of Italy in Epcot for Illuminations: It was a great time, not as expensive as people think (although it could easily get there) and Disney took care of everything. All my wife and I needed to do was enjoy i

At least it is giving some semblance of consistency in how they are reacting to the Las Vegas incident. I am of the opinion they should be notifying guests well before they arrive but my guess they are afraid of cancellations.

    Weather Alert

Someone on FB posted two notices from their kids schools. The one from FL said that the schools would be closed today due to extreme weather conditions. The other was an email from their kids previous school district in WI. "The district will cancel school when they have a sustained wind chill factor of minus 35 or lower. Please make sure your kids are dressed appropriately for the weather."

  27. Right now I am doing really well except I am freezing my flat butt off. I am very happy that super geek gave my last Christmas this very cool heated blanket for the Jeep. Now that I have an hour commute to work, it really came in handy this morning! I didn’t really need it last winter. I do now! I still cannot do sit ups and crunches for karate, but I am back up to 100 jumping jacks four days a week and I passed my advanced green belt test right before Christmas for Tang So Doo. I broke two boards together with my hand and one with my foot. I plan to go to Disney for MLK wee

  28. The parking at the Meadows is limited to 15 min for shopping. As to dropping mom off it's still a pretty good walk to the boat. You can't get any closer than the 4way intersection by 100/200-400 and 700.

(new loop, etc) If there is something that you cannot live without on the app, speak now so we can *try* to integrate it. I have bribed supergeek with something he cannot turn down in order to get this done as quickly as possible.

  33. This^ If you're healthy, you'll be fine walking or biking. Outside of that, I would recommend a golf cart as it will just make things easier. The campground is large and spread out. Have a great trip!

  34. We have never rented a golf cart. We stay in a loop about half way from each end of the campground and either walk or take the internal buses to get around. If you are in the Meadows area it is about a mile walk to either the Settlement or Outpost. The only time we've used our vehicle inside the park was to get the propane tank filled at the Meadows. It has a small number of parking sites. You could also drive to the Outpost and park in the overflow lot if you didn't want to wait for a bus.

  35. Welcome! The reason people like to have golf carts is because there is no car parking at many of the places around the Fort. You can park at your site, but you cannot park at the pool, settlement area where the restaurants and boat to MK are, etc. There is an internal bus to take you to those places. Lots of people also use bikes.

  36. Our camper is there now. So far they've been great to deal with. We wanted to drop off for the first time on a Saturday morning the office was supposed to be closed, and the owner came in just to get us all setup. We were impressed with the place - level, well paved, securely fenced and monitored, you get your own code to get in and out, and generally seems very well maintained. Parking spaces are good sized and level, the area is open - no worries about trees nearby coming down in a storm. This was our first time there and we were encouraged to see it full of all kinds of RVs - everyth

No time for TR's though. Running a business and working a full time job barely leaves time for family, much less computer time.

Thanks to Ray, Rennie, Mary Anne, Jason, their families and random internet strangers I was able to make a slide show with 82 pictures and a video (I even added There’s a great big beautiful tomorrow to it). I haven’t found a good way to share it so I’m just going to post a few of the photos. My mom absolutely loved it and almost cried. I seriously can not thank the fiends enough who did this.
