  1. We were in site 333 last October right after a pretty long spell of rain, and the area between our camper the one next to us was completely flooded the whole week we were there. The canal area ran right behind our site (we were near the curve) and there was a small alligator seen multiple times swimming his way through the canal. I would refuse this site if again offered when flooded because the standing water next to us was a mosquito haven, but otherwise the trip was great!
  2. We are going to check into this to see if we can just rent offsite and bring it in ourselves. Will update.
  3. After having had a terrible winter last year being hospitalized twice with pneumonia and still having long lasting effects from it my DH wanted to something exciting to plan towards so we decided surprise our kids/grandkids (12 in all) with a trip to Disney this coming October. We have had plans in the making since about April and have been SOOOOO looking forward to getting back to the Fort. About 1 month ago I contacted Bill from Beachline Golfcarts to request a cart for a few weeks and he told me (at that time) how hard Disney was making it for the vendors. I knew that was true because I
  4. I was born in northern NJ and then in middle school moved to the shore, so I have been one of the chosen (LOL) ones to have experienced the full gamut of NJ slang. While I may not have heard the word soder, chawwclate (chocolate) or boyds (for birds) down here, I heard MORE than enough times the word "YO"!
  5. Yes, sorry about that. That's what speed reading does to me! LOL
  6. According to WDWMagic the parks needed to close (phase 3) today due to being filled to capacity, but has reopened as of apr. 3 hours ago. I have never (thankfully) been at the parks when it is filled but would imagine it makes for a very long and frustrating day. I can't imagine how long the lines are! :o
  7. The Weather Channel (about 1 hour ago) reported that there was damage reported at both Hollywood Studios and Epcot from the storm that blew through and they were looking into exactly what extent. Sounds like it was a scary afternoon down there! Stay safe.
  8. Actually wishful thinking is that "I" was the one who lived only 100 miles from Disney..LOL. With the miserable weather we keep having up here I will gladly take the Florida weather with OR without lovebugs :wave1:. Thanks for the info. :)
  9. Thanks for the update! (It sounds like they should be gone before we get there :jumpforjoy ) I am sure we will have a great time either way but if we had the choice it would certainly be without them!
  10. Our vacation choices for the Fort this year was between these 2 weeks or the end of July, so I guess the choice was lovebugs or Brazilian tour groups. I'm thinking we made the right decision with the lovebugs! LOL
  11. We are excited that our trip is finally getting closer!! :jumpforjoy We are planning to be there mid to late April, but recently someone mentioned to me that this is possibly the same time of year that those notorious love bugs are present! YUK! Can someone tell me when their seasons are? Thanks!
  12. The 10% off is for the breakfast and lunch prices only, but still every dollar saved helps!
  13. We will be down in April and can't wait to see all these exhibits. Thanks for the preview..the pictures are awsome!
  14. This is the list from the Chase site: http://disneyrewards.com/perks/wdw-perks We use the card like a debit card and pay it off at the end of the month. We have actually been able to get enough Disney dollars to pay for our site for 10 days in April. ! It took 21 months but was certainly worth it for us!
  15. I believe showing a Disney Visa card also gives a 10% discount on breakfast and lunch prices..
  16. I know it's not Disney, but I noted that in the Toys R' Us (Lego) catalog, on page 38 there is a coupon to receive a FREE  child's ticket with a paid adult one to LEGOLAND parks. This offer is for a one-day ticket and can be used in any of their parks. Only 1 complimentary ticket per coupon. The coupon expires 3/31/2012. Just thought if anyone was going to check out the new Lego park in Florida that this may help. I will not be using the one I have so if someone needs it please PM me and I will send it to you. (I received my Lego catalog in a box of items that I had ordered from Toys
  17. Great pics!! (Well, except Papa Smurf..UGH!). Anyway, I have been very depressed because we have had to postpone our trip that we have grown accustomed to taking in November (we have to wait until March 2012), but your pics are beautiful and will help me get through the void! Have a great time! P.S. Your son is adorable!
  18. Great pics!! My DH and I were fortunate enough to stay at Jetty Park about 2 years ago and absolutely loved it. Although our site was VERY unlevel (we actually had to go buy an extra set of levelers) the CG itself was one of our favorites. An extra perk was hearing the Disney cruise ship horn playing the first line of "When you wish upon a star" as it disembarked.
  19. Congrats on the new trailer..it looks great! Hope you have many great trips in it. By the way, would like to thank you for all the informative posts you always take the time to share with everyone..they are much appreciated! :bravo:
  20. I escaped the "flush" also.. (I assumed my posts were so boring that Voldemort didn't consider me a risk! LOL), anyway, it quickly became evident over there that all the fun and informative threads were a thing of the past. It took me a little while but I eventually saw a thread posted on RVnet which mentioned the new site FF. I jumped over and signed right up. While I don't post very often I certainly visit this site daily to get my daily Fort fix.. Thanks Jen and Chris!

  22. I am so envious of everyone who got the chance to see it. Would love to see some pics!
  23. At this point we plan on being there from 9/18 to about 9/26. As far as CGs go, we think at this point we are leaning towards Twin Mountain RV park because one of my sons plan on camping in a tent and there are only a handful of CGs that seem to permit them (I was wondering if maybe the word "bears" was the reason for that!). If he does not make the trip then we plan, like you, on aiming for River-Edge Park. We just returned from a short trip to Disney's All-Stars (had a GREAT time) so most of my planning was working on that trip, but will now have more time to plan this September trip. We ar
  24. We will be heading to Pigeon Forge, TN in September. We know we will be visiting Dollywood for a few days and will also be anxious to see the Smokies, but otherwise there seems to be an over abundance of attractions to choose from. I am sure there are some that top the list of favorites from those who have already visited there. Does anyone have any particular suggestions? Thanks!
