  1. Djs pretty much nailed it. Look at the app and any aerial view of the fort. Make the notes and order of preference and let the desk know what could work for you. There are no guarantees, but it will help when you check in. Also, I would check in onsite so you can negotiate if needed. We stayed in the 100 loop with a 40 Scepter and made it on the first shot. My DD and family had about a 38' TT and they were fine. We had 121 and 122. I guess it depends on your expertise when backing up. I've seen plenty of CDL drivers who know what forward is but can't back up worth a
  2. You need two figures to determine GVWR, just add these two. The axle weight RATING, which you have and the pin weight RATING, which you do not know, but need to know for the correct GVW. The dealer probably doesn't have the correct number and it is not shown on the sticker as a specific value. 1953 lbs. just sounds strange to me, although it may be the pin rating. Pin weight and pin rating are different animals. Best thing is to weigh the tow vehicle and then get the trailer hooked up and weigh the whole combo, The difference being the weight of the trailer. While you're on
  3. DaveInTn is 100% correct, the longer the rig the easier it is to back. The inputs from the driver are not as abrupt on a long rig vs a short one. X2 on the parking lot. Get some cones and go forward and around corners as well as backing. Don't forget to use your mirrors, they are invaluable whenever and where ever you drive. Don't feel bad as there are a lot of CDL drivers that can't back their rigs either. Had to take command of many trucks making deliveries at our farm when the guys simply could not make it.
  4. I guess we will have to deal with this one. I have two sites booked, one for the MH and the other for a rental trailer. They are linked. We will drive down and the DD and family are flying down a day later. With a little luck they will allow me to handle the setup and avoid the wait. What rental co. closed shop? Hope it is not who we booked with. Not going until early Dec. 2016, but will keep you posted.
