  1. A few points. Keep it under 65 mpg. Keep them inflated. Nitrogen is a gimmick. Now if your a NASCAR driver doing 200 mph, I'm sure it's helpful. The air we breathe is 80 % nitrogen so do you think that extra 20% at 65mpg makes any difference
  2. Paid cash for 2017 Montana 3731FL. Able to do this because we have Progressive Full Replacement coverage on our 2015 Mountaineer 375FLF. Totaled my F250 and our 5er in May. Took a beating on the 2011 F250 because it was payed off when we got our 2017 F350 duelly.
  3. It's hard for me to imagine your prep work as we live just a 3 hour drive from the fort. But leaving a rig in Florida requires some investment in time and effort. After our 3 hour drive home, I store our 5er on our property in a pull through paved carport that I ran 50 amps of power and water to. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Took it out on a test run today. Will need to adjust the "companion" down an inch. Yes front window in the front living room with 6 slide outs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Well, we are finally back on the road again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. I didn't mean to hijack this thread from the OP, but surly there is the need for novice and experienced campers. I wish I had some of this info before I went with a swivel wheel that cost me my fifth wheel and F250. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Smart Trailer has changed their marketing approach since May of this year. He delivered it to my home and gave me the instructions himself while two feet from my 38 foot fifth wheel. Specific that it was legal in Florida as an "extension". Will be taking legal advice soon if they don't refund the $4,400 soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. I was unable to move over as there was an 18 wheeler next to me in the center lane doing 70+. The Smart Trailer lists the unit as an extension to the 5er, that's why the plate was moved to the "extension". Splitting hairs I know but well researched by the manufacturer. Never again. 9. We were only 36 miles from home near Gainesville on Mother's Day weekend. Called the fort and they canceled our reservation. Ya, 36 miles on the Smart Trailer and I can't even give it away with good conscious. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I'm an ER Trauma Center Nurse for 29+ years. Now a Hospice RN. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If you look at the pics, the swivel wheel and golf cart stayed attached. My gut feeling is that with 1100 pounds of golf cart and 800 pounds of swivel wheel was too much weight in the wrong place to keep control Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Well, it was the perfect setup for disaster. All 3 SB lanes recently paved, not the shoulder. Service truck on the shoulder with flashers. I'm in the right lane just as an 18 wheeler in the center lane. Sandwiched between them doing 65 mph. When the 18 wheeler cleared me a gust of wind hit me. The Montana with our brand new smart trailer swivel wheel with our golf cart started to fish tail. 50 years of driving in Michigan ice and snow enabled me to keep the truck upright and pointing straight. I just couldn't hold it as the 5er jackknifed and slammed into the passenger door. Then my B&W
  13. For sale, my "slightly" damaged 2015 Montana Mountaineer 375 flf. Ya that's all 3 SB lanes of I-75 in Florida on our way to the fort. Luckily no one hurt. Progressive total replacement coverage. Picking up our new 2017 Montana 3731 next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
