  1. So my husband and I have been at The Fort 3 times so far in August (but a total of 9 times so far) and on our last August trip we were faced with a potential hurricane. We are returning again this August which I'm not worried about but we'd like to plan a 20th anniversary trip for Sept 2017. Anyone been there in Sept or during a hurricane? I'm almost positive we would camp vs stay at a resort since our kids will be staying home for this trip and we'd like to camp without them for once:) What does Disney do for campers if a hurricane hits? Do you evacuate to a shelter? If you decide to leave
  2. We're headed to FW next week and haven't made golf cart reservations because we planned to use the bus system. Well I'm re-thinking that now and want to get a cart. I would like to avoid the expense of the Disney carts and have called around to other businesses to check on prices and availability. Anyone have tips or recommendations?
  3. We were in the 1800 loop on our last visit which was nice...not too far from the main road but far enough that the bus noise wasn't as bad. Also fairly close to the pool and trading post. We usually request 1700 loop but we've had a site in the past right on the road and bus noise was annoying. Think we'll request 1800 again in August.
  4. I know I'm bucking the trend here but we had no problems with our Magic Bands during our Christmas vacation. We loved being able to make our Fastpass reservation a day ahead or even the day of and we planned around the times we got. Now we were there at the busiest time of year and it was incredibly crowded and yes there was the ocassional 10 min wait for an attraction but it certainly beat waiting standby as well as the fact that we didn't have to rush to a kiosk the minute we got inside the gates to grab an "old fashioned" fastpass. We were able to change some fastpass+ reservations on th
  5. Thanks for your info!! I was looking at their 2014 calendar that shows selected dates that are discounted and the last 2 weeks of August appear to be "Value" weeks. We may go then since our kids will still be on summer vacation. I recently spoke with a co-worker of mine who said he is a former cast member and his experience was that Oct 31 thru early December is not very crowded. I'd love to check that out without the kids In tow but don't think this is the year for that.
  6. We just returned from 2 awesome Christmas weeks at Fort Wilderness. We can't wait to go back for the 6th time but am trying to get an idea of when a less crowded time of year is...we've been there in August, April and December so far. Any thoughts??
