Anybody know some good spots around the fort to Fish?

Recommended Posts

So Sil has never been fishing and we think we are going to rent a pole and spend a little time this trip fishing. Are the poles they rent ok? I doubt this will become a regular thing so I hate to buy one.

The fishing equipment is fine.

But, for what you're going to do, you don't need anything fancy.  Get Sil something like this: http://www.basspro.com/Shakespeare-Mickey-Mouse-Lighted-Fishing-Rod-and-Reel-Kit-for-Kids/product/10204829/

Save some GAG skin, and you're in business.  And, she can use it whenever she wants.

I am going to be at the fort this August, fishing of course between park visits.  I will gladly offer up my fly fishing knowledge to anyone who wants to try something new.  Young or old can do it.  My

Wow Lou, that's some serious insight you offered there.  I wanted to fish the moat but security turned me back.  The pricing was already listed by another user.  As far a cost goes people routinely pa

Haha. That's cute! I think we will just rent though. If we buy something she may want to fish more often and I don't really like fishing all that much.

You don't like fishing all that much?

And you call yourself a Fiend?

Highly suspicious.

I dont mind the fishing part. I have issues with touching things that are or look slimy. I cant eat ribs, or buffalo wings, or anything like that I have to pick up to eat. I have a hard enough time prepping meats for the freezer and coking with them. That part I would not enjoy and despite what she says when and if we catch a fish she is not going to touch it to remove it and throw it back.

If she finds that she likes fishing, send her off for the day, see ya honey, have fun, but I'm not going.

For a lasting marriage, and I would know as I've been married for 2/3s of my life, do some things separately.

It's nice to have common interests, but don't feel compelled to do most things together. It holds both people back.

That's today's marriage tip from Dr. Lou.

Why isn't she going to touch the fish?

Didn't her daddy ever take her fishing?

Poor girl.

You need to man up.  Women like that kind of thing.

We do have many things we do separately. This is something she want to does not have any idea how. I am more than happy to show her and if she does decide she likes it she's on her own.

She never learned to fish growing up. There is a long list of things we have been working our way through that she has never done or seen before. This happens to be one she chose to try right now.

I suspect she isnt going to want to touch the fish by her reactions to having to deal with other things, such as when the pets have gotten sick, cleaning and cooking a chicken or turkey. If she has no problem with it even better for me. But I am going into this expecting to be the one removing that fish from the hook and tossing it back in.

My dad didn't get a son until 10 years after I was born so he had to make do in the meantime.  Hence I was the one that went fishing - surf fishing at the beach in the summer, ice fishing in the winter.  In the winter he would punch all the holes in the ice with the gas auger, then go make coffee while I skated around baiting and setting up all the tilts.

That's awesome.

I'm still waiting on my son.

Maybe I should adopt Jason in the meantime?  I could help him work on some of his issues.

I think Jason just need to hire a guide to take Sil fishing. She would catch fish and Jason wouldn't have to touch a fish.

I like this plan too. except for the hire part. That would cost me money. Anyone want to be a guide for beer? I would offer 1 but dealing with SIl i should make it at least a 6 pack.
