First time going to "camp" at the Fort - did cabins previously.  I've read about the "book".  Is it best to park and walk to check in to utilize "the book"or should I just do drive-through check in?  We plan to arrive before noon on a Monday.  However, sadly it's Spring Break.  Best option?  Thanks.

Actually, unless you already have, go get the Fort Fiends "Sites at the Fort" app on Google Play or the Apple Store and download it to your phone. It has pictures of most of the sites, the dimensions of each site parking pad, location of utilities, whether it is left side or right side, and back-in rating. It is better information than the Magic Book!

Also there is a thread on here that gives site numbers close to a comfort station, so if you have those numbers in mind, that also helps you.

Then you can decide whether to go inside or not, only if the outside lines are really long :)

What Carol said.  We usually have a list of the sites we know we'd like and also the app fired up so that when they give us a number, we can scope it out and see if it's fine or we need to ask what else is available.

We've always checked in outside and they've got the magic binders also.  ;)

...oh and I also like cheese.
