Way back on Black Friday, was avoiding the stores surfing the web and saw a post from one of my fellow T@B friends that South Carolina State Parks has a 50% off sale on Black Friday only, and did anyone want to join her for a week in mid April. She called this the Carolina Lakeside Rally.

Wow, now that's the kind of Black Friday shopping I enjoy! A few clicks later and I was booked for Lake Hartwell State Park from April 16th - 21st and Croft State Park from April 21st - 24th.

Whoopee, camping with friends that I hadn't seen in a few years!

As always, I hate wasting evening hours just sitting at home, only to get up at the crack of dawn for a long ride, so I booked a KOA about mid-way on my drive for April 15th.

Then as the months went by, I realized I would be rushing home from South Carolina on the 24th, only to rush back down to Florida with my tent to camp with the WWW.

I checked with Jason, and was able to get my own site at the Fort, and then booked a couple of campgrounds between South Carolina and Fort Wilderness.

So here we go!!

First day coming up

Here I am all hitched up, ready to go.

Stopped at a rest stop for a moment

and my first stop - the Cartersville KOA

And that's all for Day 1! As a note, this was also a working trip for me. I was more than willing to spend a few hours here and there on the computer to enjoy a long trip in my T@B.

Saturday, April 16th

Unfortunately, KOA campgrounds are usually pretty tight, and unless you are on the end, you don't have a very good view from your camper.

Headed out for a short drive to my next destination - Lake Hartwell State Park in South Carolina. Unfortunately, even on a Saturday, I-75, I-285, and I-85 near Atlanta were miserable. I never have this trouble on the Southern end of Atlanta.

Stopped at the South Carolina Welcome Center

and then I was there! This place is really close to the interstate, but you feel miles away.

This is a MUCH better view

Finished setting up my stuff

and that's it for day 2. Enjoyed the relaxing evening. My friends didn't schedule their stay to start until Sunday, so had an evening all to myself (and all the other weekenders).

Carol, do any in your group have a R-Pod they have some neat designs also.

There are a few that do, but not many. They are from a totally different manufacturer. Most actually move up to an Airstream Bambi. The lady that brought the Shasta had a T@B for many years, but they now have an Airstream, a Roadtrek, and then she usually has two classic projects she restores and uses for her Sisters on the Fly group.
