It sucks to have a rental sitting there and not use it the whole time but being caught in a storm doesn't sound fun either. One thing I love about being at a beach after a hurricane is the shells that are there to be found. If the little creature who lived in the shell is alive I toss it back, but if it's dead I bring the shells home and lay them near a fire ant hole. They are soon cleaned out and no smell left.
