Lazy Days - Seffner (Tampa), Florida

Recommended Posts

We stayed here over Thanksgiving.  Impression was, overall, positive.   The sites are very close together (think a really tight KOA).  A majority of the sites back up to one another, the largest sites/most expensive, do not (we stayed in one of those sites and they are not a lot bigger, but it was nice to not back up to someone).  Sites have a cement slab but several are NOT level.  Full hook-ups.  Picnic table but no grill or fire pit.  Trash pick-up at your site.  There is a nice playground, a tennis court (with a basketball hoop) and a nice outdoor pool (outdoor, but screened in). They have a small diner/restaurant on-site but the hours are strange (I want to say 3p-9p).  There is a laundry room but no true bathhouses on property (I don't believe they allow tent camping).  There are a couple of showers in the bathroom off the pool.  I believe there was also a small fitness center.   Property itself is right off I-4 E, so easy access into downtown Tampa.  About 15 minutes from Busch Gardens.

The campground is right next to their RV lot and they have a cute trolley/shuttle that runs Monday-Saturday (8a to 5p I believe).  We had the same driver the entire time we were there; she was very, very nice.  Office staff is nice...but they need some training.  Their "security" is very nice and very helpful.

The RV sales lot itself is really nice.  The landscaping is beautiful.  They have a large selection (I believe the trolley car driver told us around 1500 units on the lot), but most appeared to be brand new.  Not a huge selection of used RVs (at least not what we were looking at: 5th wheels with bunks).  When you stay at the campground, they give you two food vouchers for both breakfast and lunch for each night you are there.  For us, we received a total of four breakfast and four lunch vouchers, which worked well as we have two children.  The food is located at the RV dealership (they have a cafeteria area...I should have thought to take a picture of that). The food is okay.  Nothing great, but not horrible. Not a huge selection.  It was free (available for purchase if you don't have a voucher) and it's a great thought on Lazy Days part as it really does extend your time there.  We spent probably 5 hours on their lot whereas we would have left after about 3, if we didn't have the chance to stop and eat.  They do have FREE drinks (coffee, juice, coke) for anyone who is visiting.  During the summertime especially, I'm sure this helps people stick around and shop longer.  As I said, the RV lot is large, but there are bathrooms (buildings, not outhouses) scattered on the lot.  Their RV store was okay.  They had a decent selection, but most items are on Amazon for less.

There is also a Cracker Barrel on property.  Gotta love that ^_^

This shows the sites backing up to one another:

Because the sites are pretty small, the campground can feel very crowded:

We stay at Lazy Days from time to time for a get away. It's only about an hour from home and for the price nice with pool and WiFi (can be spotty in the back sites).

There is a Publix and Kmart close by. Ikea is about 15mins and the Hard Rock hotel and casino is just on the other side of I4, Lazy Days offers a shuttle for a small fee to the casino.

Thanks Nacole for the pictures and the review...  When I used to perform office moves in the Brandon area a couple of years ago, if I had time to kill before catching a flight home, I would always go over there and wonder around the sales lot. It is a convenient location to a lot of things in the area...

It was great meeting up with you, wish we had more time to spend, next time!

We spend a lot of time there, since it's about 20 min from home. We used to do all the major holidays at the fort, but it just became to expensive for us to do that, so now we spend them at Lazy Days.

I love looking at rv's new and used so this gives us a really good way to spend some of our time.

We love Exit 10 (restaurant on property), Mike who is the bartender has become a good friend, his service is great. The front porch is where they serve breakfast and lunch, and they give you 2 tickets per day (except for Sunday) for each meal.

the sites are tight, but most cg in Florida are. They run great rates in the summer, so we go a few times. this past summer we spent weekends there the month of July, kept our rv on site during the week. they had a monthly rate for this.

Thanks Duane!  Hopefully we'll get a chance to meet up again at some point ^_^

Thanks for the review, NaCole!  I've always wondered about their campground.

Me too!  We've seen their (sales) show on tv a couple of times...so it was fun to stay there.  We even ran into the one sales guy who looks like Elvis
