I agree with the rest of you that the "Tiny House" movement is dumb.

The Tampa Bay Times had an article recently saying how smart a USF architecture student was for building her own Tiny House.

The photo of her creation showed it parked in a trailer park.  She and her father provided all of the labor, and still spent about $18K on it.

What's the point?:

The exterior of the tiny home built by University of South Florida architecture graduate Stephanie Henschen, a graduate of the architecture program at the University of South Florida in Tampa. she spent 10 months building the 210 square-foot tiny house she lives in for her thesis project. That's not a tiny house. It's a homemade travel trailer.  Only it's probably heavy as hell and nowhere near as mobile as a travel trailer.

At least it looks a lot better than some of the fire traps I've seen in the long term seasonal campsites.

Tiny House =Yard Barn on wheels.   A few years ago on a 4 wheeling expedition into KY, there was a "rooms available sign" and sure enough someone had converted Yard Barns into bunkhouses and they were being rented out on a nightly basis. Someone in our group said that it wouldn't be long before someone attaches axles and wheels to one and starts traveling.
