I enjoy looking at photos from the Fort.

But, I really enjoy looking at photos that make me say: "What The Fort?"

So, I thought there could be a new thread here in the Photos From the Fort section dedicated to photos that make you scratch your head and say "What The Fort?"

And since I started this thread, I'll make the rules. I think we only need two:

1. The photo has to be taken at the Fort;

and

2. It has to make you say WTF?

I'll start with one from the TCD archives.

I hope others will contribute their favorite WTF? photos.

It might end up being a fun thread.

So, here we go.

This photo was taken on the 1400 loop one day back in 2008.

I have no idea what this guy was doing, but he was riding around the loop on one of those weird skateboards dressed in tights, Sponge Bob boxers, a cape, and a Loyal Order of Water Buffaloes hat:

WTF?

No matter how hard we try I don't think any one will be able to top this :rofl2: WTF

Oh, I am sure someone can top that one.

In fact, I can.

How about this photo.

Check out this hippie talking to one of the carriage drivers:

Make sure not to miss his Converse sneakers and matching socks.

WTF?

Great idea TCD! While I can't compare to your Sponge Bob super hero, or your hippie, I do have this. I definitely said WTF? (or something similiar)

march2011fort084.jpg

march2011fort085.jpg

They were refurbishing a crack in the sidewalk for our future enjoyment! WTF?

Though I did walk that new sidewalk on my next trip and found it quite enjoyable!

Way to go S70!

That's what I'm talking about!

Where is that sidewalk?

I want to make sure that I enjoy it!

I bet you got a suitcase full of WTF pics.. I can't wait to see them ALL!! :)

Well, I do have a few.

But, not a suitcase full.

So we will need some other contributions.

Like S70 just did!

Are you paying people to come in and pose for WTF pictures :rofl2:

No.

You know I would never have anything to do with a hippie.

And, guess what?

I'm holding out on my hippie story.

There's more to tell.

If you want to hear the rest of the hippie story, let me know.

I'm sure there will be open season on WTF ... IF my Snarky Fairy costume is actually made so I can "run" the Princess 1/2 Marathon. I've even offered to wear it at Halloween IF it's ready by then.

I don't know.

I have to see the costume first.

It might not make me say WTF?

I might just say: "Oh, there goes Ed in his Snarky Fairy costume. NBD."

Wasn't that in a report somewhere else? If that's the one I read it and enjoyed it

No, this is something that has never been told.

It is about that hippie.

I have some unpublished photos that tell the rest of the story.

But, I'm not sure if anyone is interested in a new hippie story.

No, I can't say that I have.

In fact, I don't recall ever enjoying a sidewalk in the Fort all that much.

I'll have to make a point to visit that refurbished one.

After all, they specifically refurbished it for our enjoyment.

Don't tell me you saw this guy and didn't get a photo!

I guess I'll give you a pass since you did a good job on your trip report.

But, you had better shape up there mister.

OK, since you asked.

Ask and you shall receive. As I said before, S70 gets what she asks for.

Does the hippie story have one of these? 414px-Jon_Hammond_Worlds_First_Psychedelic_Accordionist.jpg

Nope. Wrong hippie.

OK, so here's the rest of the hippie story.

That photo up there in post #4 was from August, 2009.

So, I was back at the Fort Thanksgiving week that year.

I was in Trail's End early one morning to get some coffee, and decided to snap a photo of some of the Christmas decorations in there.

This was the first photo:

FWThanksgiving09154.jpg

Sorry about the blurriness, it was early in the morning, and still kind of dark in there.

As soon as I took that photo, I noticed a figure walking by on his way out of the restaurant. You can see him in the back of this photo:

FWThanksgiving09155.jpg

It was the hippie!

He even had the same flame Converse and socks on!

I tried to take a second photo, but he was too fast for me. I just got a blurry shot of him about to walk out:

FWThanksgiving09156.jpg

To which, I say:

WTF?

What the Fort was that hippie doing in Trail's End before it even opened?

There are no restrooms or anything else back there.

And now WBI says he saw this guy going in to the MK on the 4th of July.

It just makes me say . . .

WTF?

I don't have too many funny WTF? pictures, but I did capture this one in October 2010. It was on the Meadow Trading Post bulletin board.

Check out the second paragraph. The 2009 Ford Ironman? It was October 2010!

WTF?

Good one, Tom.

I have said WTF? quite a few times at that very bulletin board.

Maybe they could put one of the Rangers in charge of keeping it up to date?

So are you suggesting that WDW has a resident hippie? Coolhippie-1.gif
