  1. So later that night after a few of these: Cindy (fortpartyof4) shows up with these: I had a tear in my eye after that! I got beer!!!!!! We ended the night with some looping and I saw the 2000 first hand.....later that week I saw it in the daylight with boyscouts and there is NO WAY in SAM hell I will pay Fort prices for that! So Tony and I have decided to stick with preferred. In addition to Cindy's GREAT and THOUGHTFUL gift, I got this from Stef and Trevor. They are so WONDERFUL and THOUGHTFUL too. True Friends. You might not be able to tell what it is. It's a keychain that when you w

  2. Something else to consider for those that might make the argument "well I just want information, not all the banter" There are LOADS of places on the web to get "just the facts ma'am." Anyone ever heard of Google? Of course these days many of the topics you Google specific to the Fort will point you directly to FF.net! Hmm... I wonder why that is? After all, Google doesn't tend to rank you highly for just "banter." I know for me, I come to a message board not just because I'm too lazy to find the answer for myself or I don't know where to look, but because I don't just want facts posted o

  3. Backstory: Stef told me about her Jan trip to celebrate Jordan's return home from AStan. When I found out what dates she was considering, I asked if she minded company. She said no, so off to convince Tony. Wasn't to hard, I told him we were going as my 40th bday present. The poor man didn't have to think or actually shop for anything. See, easy peasy lemon squeezy. I told Stef what dates would work for me, and once Jordo unknowling signed off on them, things started falling into place. Or so I thought. By mid December there was REAL concern, I would have to cancel b/c of some work devel

  4. This is my 4th WDW TR. The trip took place in October. It is now January. Hence the, “I’m a Lazy Bum.” In my defense, I have been absent from FF for awhile. Not because I got mad, or lost interest, or didn’t care. Because the fall got super busy, my computer had stupid problems, my internet sucked, and I just didn’t have the motivation to work on any TRs and deal with those problems. I now have a new computer, new internet, and the motivation...so here we go! Due to the fact this trip was a long time ago, we will revert to the “Photos & Thoughts” format. It will also be a pretty quick

  5. Perhaps the Title was " Monorail lever puller trying to escape and wishing he could drive a bus?" :rotfl6: I love the Christmas pictures. It looks like a great time. I would love to do this and be at the Fort for Christmas or even Thanksgiving, yet I know it is next to impossible. I am not sure how it happened, but over the last few years after my parents passed away, and my wife's side of the family has gotten older, we have become the destination house for the Holidays. We had 13 people for Thanksgiving and 21 for Christmas. Huge feast, lots of work, and in the end it is always worth

  6. I found this board last year and quietly sneaked in the back door. I managed to find my way to the chat room where I have met lots of wonderful fiends. We talk about fort things but mostly what is going on in our lives or whatever crazy thoughts come our way that night. I am not there often but when I do return I am always welcomed with open arms. I have been invited to GG outside of disney and at disney but just haven't been able to make my way there yet. That doesn't stop these wonderful poeple from trying to meet me and help me. I did get to meet one local fiend when I invited her to

  9. When I go looping, I come across several Fort Fiends.net signs and if I see someone outside I'll stop and introduce myself. OK, I've knocked on a few doors too....lol. It's amazing that when I do they perk up and are more welcoming than any group I have ever seen. It's kind of like long lost friends you haven't seen in a long time, even though you may never have met, other than electronically. You can't go wrong with this group. So if you haven't jumped in yet, please do so and discover the best Walt Disney Lovin', Fort Wilderness Lovin' and camping anywhere Lovin' Fiends you could ever

  11. You know, I have "heard" that other boards are better without certain people. (posted recently elsewhere) Frankly, I don't know of anyone that would be better elsewhere but here. This is not the place where you just post a question and then "walk" away, never to return. It "sucks" you in, because family does that. Family takes care of you (sometimes whether they like you or not :rofl2: ) and will complain, and spit and moan for a while too. BUT THEY DO IT. Us Fiends, we do the helping willingly and without forethought. When I am at the Fort, I consider myself ON CALL. That means I am
