  1. Totally weird. Now a 63 year old man camping by himself at Disney for 18 days isn't weird at all. Even if he goes back a week later for another 10 days [emoji12] Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Just asked at Trails End: no goodski on the AP Discount for take out [emoji853] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Had the same plan for MK...now sitting quietly, browsing the web, and listening to Must Do Disney. I know something must be seriously wrong with me, 'cause I never get tired of listening to Stacey! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. For those of us without a generator, it is miserable right now... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  5. Storm last night was a big one, but my trusty old Coleman Bayside Pop-up handled it with style...I just love the sound of rain on the canvas! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. My bad - looked very quiet... I was at MK today till 6ish. By the way, a group of very loud folks (8 or more) cut through my campsite from 100 loop. When I say cut through the campsite, I mean under my awning! That has never happened to me before. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Nice photos, Gwen! Cycled by your site today 7ish, but ya'll must have been in the parks. Perhaps we can all get together when NaCole gets here. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. Sending prayers and comfort as well. They love us so unconditionally that it is just devastating when they pass. I truly believe that Dogs go to heaven - they deserve it more than we do! 9. I'm so sorry. I am certain she brought you so much joy over the years. As a dog lover, I really have no words of comfort for you that can diminish the present pain. All I can say is I'm sorry...sometimes the English language just can't do a sentiment justice. "Bigamy is one wife too many. Monogamy is pretty much the same thing." Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. I have always thought (though I absolutely don't know) that it was designed and approved by people in suits. I can't imagine that an imagineer would sign off on it. Yes, I will go on it ONCE this next trip just to remind myself how awful it is...
  11. Guy Fieri is teaming up with Planet Hollywood to revamp its menu at Walt Disney World's Disney Springs Among the new dishes mentioned in Thursday's announcement are a "Prime Time American Kobe-Inspired Burger,” "Turkey Pic-a-nic Sandwich" and "Chicken Crunch," which is allegedly a chicken fingers dish with a Cap'n Crunch cereal coating. I am so trying the Cap'n Crunch chicken fingers: here's hoping they have a version with Crunch Berries... http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2016/08/19/guy-fieri-taking-signature-dishes-to-disney-springs-planet-hollywood/?intcmp=hpffo&intcmp=obn
  12. Got the word several months ago that some dear friends were going to Disney from the 14th to the 24th of October. Soon 2 friends from California decided to join them, then 2 friends local to Orlando, then I agreed to join them...well it turned out to be 10 adults and 4 children! I knew I would have fun, but I also knew the frustration of doing what the group wanted to do would make me nuts. Solution: take a solo trip from Sep 17th till Oct 5th and get my full Disney dosage before the big gathering. So on the line to Jason. Oct Trip was a total no go for the fort. Had to settle for Pop
  13. I bought a Tote-N-Stor from Amazon. Mine is only 15 gallons, but I only need it for the kitchen sink drain in my pop up. Good price, nice quality, and I have zero complaints.
  14. Welcome to the Fiends, and welcome to Pop Up camping. Every time I think about a TT, I open all the flaps on the PUP...it is like living in a screen house, and I love it! Putting up the PUP wet is sometimes unavoidable, but I want to double up on the advice to open it back up as soon as you get home and let it dry out. Also second the advice to lower stabilizers AFTER you crank the top up. Level the PUP, raise the top, lower the stabilizers. As I recall, the canvas on a Rockwood needs to go thru a couple of wet dry cycles before it is 100% waterproof. Check with your dealer, but I'm pretty
  15. I used my bike and had a blast. Remember, the Fort is like seriously flat - riding a bike there is effortless and a lot of fun. I did have a friend join me for a couple of days, and he had a cart that he trailered down from Pensacola. Fun to loop around the campground, but I actually enjoyed biking better.
  16. Those are the best trips ever. Did a totally unplanned 3 week motorcycle trip one summer. All back roads, no plan at all. Had a blast, but my wife pointed out that I had gone through every state North and West of Texas (we lived in Dallas at the time). So the next year I went solo again to make sure I hit the rest of the states. Made a plan. Hit all the states....but it wasn't nearly as much fun as the unplanned trip the year before.
  17. Best of luck - and don't forget that the journey can be part of the fun...although I guess that wouldn't be true of your last one
  18. They actually have about 10 pull throughs for larger rigs - so pretty easy. It is only about 5 miles off of I75, and good roads all the way (except for a bridge that is a little narrow, but no big problem). I will admit that most of the other sites are a bit difficult to back in a larger RV. There are no full hookup sites, by the way.
  19. My go to is Red Top Mountain State park north of Atlanta. Nice park, but most importantly has awesome hiking trails for me and Gandalf.
  20. By the way, Jason (Katman1356) is a travel agent. Knows all things Fort related...and a really nice guy. He can hook you up with a seriously good golf cart rental company. Yes, this is a shameless plug, but I just met him at the Fort last month, and he promised to give me a .00012% commission on anyone I referred his way. Which gives me .0000032% off a Disney beer.
  21. OK, I am probably about to start a firestorm, but what the heck... I was there for 14 days just before Thanksgiving. 200 loop, which has a comfort station shared with the 100 loop. Several times during my stay every site was occupied in both loops - can't get more crowded than that. If the comfort stations where not up to the "old standards", what the heck were the old standards? Operating room standards? I have never seen cleaner comfort stations in any campground in my entire camping life. EVERY SINGLE DAY. Yes, the lights were on after 10 in many sites. Looked really cool at night. Di
