No, you turn right just before the toll plaza. It’s not well marked, but two weeks ago they had a lighted sign.  After you pass the EPCOT exit keep moving to every right lane that opens up, this will put you in the FT. Wilderness lane.

    Gracias!

  2. On our way!

Sorry if this info is plainly on the website somewhere but my searching here and on Google isn't going well. But, do we still go to the MK toll plaza and then through, staying on the right to turn to the campground? My GPS is telling me a different way of course. I looked at sat view and it looks like maybe that road is closed off, but who knows when those sat photos are from. Hopefully there are signs. Nothing in the emails from Disney - would it kill them to put directions to the campground somewhere?

A base such as your eldest has can leave and return to the same park as many times as they want in that same day.

Thanks, that's what I thought but just wanted to confirm!

PS - I know last time we were there at Christmas they shut down some of the parks (maybe just MK though) when they got too crowded. Do you think there is a chance that if we leave EPCOT that day we won't be able to get back in later?

  4. Well, I wish I had seen this before I made fastpass res for that day.  Though, time-wise we can make it back to watch the golf cart parade. I have a tickets question though and am not finding my answer on Disney's site.

The youngest & I have park hopper passes, but the eldest only wanted to do EPCOT, so he just has a base ticket. Of course the day I did EPCOT fastpasses is Christmas Eve. Can he leave and return to the park later?

    Thanks!

Also, anyone doing the 5k? Can I do that and then walk around EPCOT all day? hmmm

  5. Hey, y'all, it's been a while since I was on here. We are heading to the Fort this coming Saturday (22nd-30th). I'm doing my online check-in now and I know when we went in 2016 you could do the loop request there. Now I don't see it. Do we have to go back to faxing it in?

    Thanks!

    Well, you called that.

But, nothing to be ashamed of- your team looks very good, and you have a great, young coach.

Yeah, we had some good opportunities but then mistakes that Clemson just pounced on. Overall, I am okay with that loss.

OK, now you have ESPN College Game Day coming to Blacksburg!

All eyes are on the Hokies.

    Can y'all beat Clemson?

    TCD

Haha, no, I don't think so. We seem to be starting slow and/or spotting the other team points. Will be hard to come back against Clemson if that happens.

i mention my Sooners all the time. Did you see the OU vs OSU game?

Im a college football fan.   I watch and or record several games every Saturday.  And I've also been a Bama fan for many years.   Since the first time I saw Forrest Gump. LOL!

A lot of people  on this forum live in SEC states. And they talk about their favorite team.

So please help this sooner out and talk about your favorite non--SEC team. LOL!

I completely agree and understand that about everyone here being SEC fans due to the location of the majority of the posters. That was my point. Nothing wrong with that. I am a minority here. I have mentioned my team and others several times throughout the thread. Maybe I'm just not interesting. That is okay as well.

I stopped reading the thread when I realized I had nothing to contribute. Not a complaint, just an observation.

Let's see, what can I say about the SEC. I like Alabama okay, only because my oldest brother has been a big fan for many years. I suspect that is because we all hate Tennessee in my family.  That comes from living in UT country surrounded by obnoxious fans. :lol:

My Hokies are currently barely beating ODU 3-0. One missed FG. Hopefully we can score some actual TDs soon because that would be kind of embarrassing.

  9. Well, I always want to join! That is the weekend after our spring break, but around my birthday, so maybe I can swing it. Also don't have spring soccer schedule, but only one of my boys is playing in the spring, so that will help on those conflicts.

    We shall see.

    Aw, come on.

It doesn't have to be an SEC thread.  Everyone else in the country hates the SEC now.

Your team has a huge game this weekend, no?

    TCD

I think we play Old Dominion this weekend.   Clemson is the next.

  11. 1 minute ago, Specularius said:

It is not....There just are not many fans from the other divisions that discuss their teams here. Ray is getting excited about OU though. So voice your opinion and see where the discussion leads. The SEC has had a great run, but It is obvious that the other divisions have closed the gap some.

I agree with that. I'm not saying it's intentionally SEC only, just no one (but me) ever mentions any other schools.

    Man, this thread died.

    It's opening weekend people!

A bunch of idiot kids on the UF football team have ruined tomorrow's opening game against Michigan.  A game that I have looked forward to for years.  They got caught in a credit card scam and/or with marijuana, and now 12 players are suspended for the game.  12.

    Friggin' idiots.

    Go Gata.

    TCD

I quit reading when I realized it's really an SEC thread, not a college football thread. B)

Would you consider this resort to be family friendly, or more adult oriented?

Well, in general Class A owners seem to be more adults only, but I would consider it pretty family friendly. We had some kids riding bikes near us the whole weekend and I saw a big family in a MH that I'm sure was a rental. We certainly traipsed around the golf course with our 2 clubs each several times over the weekend. I did see someone complaining on rv park reviews about kids in the hot tub & pool right at sunset (like they should be banned just at that time). We were right above the lower pool (which is heated with gas) and it was a little noisy a couple of times but nothing I'd be upset over. We went to the upper pool once without the kids (they don't do campground pools for some reason). It had a different heating system and was a little chilly. There was one family there who left right after we got there, and then one family showed up later.

We did not take our bikes anticipating big hills and were right. But if you have little kids that just want to ride in a small area, it's fine.

As far as pets go (I know, you didn't ask. ;-) ), they do not have a dog park but do have waste stations all around. Mr. CJHokie spoke with an owner at the top for a while, and he said there's a big debate among the owners about a dog park.

I think there are a couple of walking trails but anyone can walk on the golf cart paths too.

Gorges State Park is a pretty short drive. We did a hike to Rainbow Falls. Saw lots of families on that, but it is rated strenuous for the fact that it's pretty much all uphill on the way back out.

Thanks for the info and pics.  I've been wondering about this resort.

We picked the lower level because 1) it was cheaper and 2) the sites we saw available online on the upper were just basic, while the lower ones had the kitchens & fireplaces, etc.

But now after being there we would get an upper level one for the views. We already have everything we need on our MH, so a basic site would be fine. We didn't even use the grill on our site because the grates were so rusty it grossed me out. And our chairs are more comfy than those they had. Plus everything not under furniture covers was covered in pollen (table, counter, etc.)

We paid $95/night, which is still cheaper than we've ever paid at the Fort.

  15. We just spent the weekend at Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort. I know a lot of RV parks use the word "resort" but this was easily the fanciest place we've ever "camped". It is Class A only and we had to send them our make & model before being accepted. I've never in my life seen so many Prevosts in one place. Didn't get pics of everything but will share the ones I got. They had 2 pools, a tennis court, 4 pickleball courts, and a 9 hole par 3 golf course. People own individual sites and rent them out so they are all different.  We were in the lower section, and there were some incredible shelters & outdoor kitchens. But...on the new upper section, along with awesome views of the mountains there are super fancy cottages on most of the sites. Not sure why you wouldn't just build a nice house on the mountain somewhere if you wanted a house, but that's just me. On to the pics!

Our site: Oh, BTW, most of the sites you are not allowed to use their fireplaces, but this one said we could. Also, if you are renting one with a cottage, you do not have access to that.

No solution but good luck. Ours broke our last Fort trip. Won't go out at all so I can sympathize with you.

Thanks. Oddly after it doing it a thousand times, it finally just stopped and stayed out. Hopefully that doesn't mean it's staying out for good!

We did have them replaced after they broke when a heavy guy stepped on them while doing the state inspection a couple of years ago, so I can sympathize with you too!

  17. Hi y'all, we are "camping" at the Mountain Falls Luxury Motorcoach Resort in Lake Toxaway, NC. I promise I will try to add some pics to the other campgrounds board later.

Anyhoo, we are having an issue with our electric steps on our motorhome. We have a switch at the door that is supposed to control them staying out all the time or going in and out with the door closing. Usually we don't do anything to the switch and when we take the key out of the ignition or turn the engine off, they stay out for good. This time they keep going in and out. The switch is not lighted, so we're not real sure which is on or off, but we have tried both positions multiple times and they still keep going in and out. All the other switches there seem to be working properly.

Anyone had this issue? My only guess is that switch is bad.

Just got a new BJs flyer.

They have the stainless table top grills, although I'm actually considering the bigger portarble grill with legs. I don't have a grill at home at the moment and was debating where to put one. Patio is screen and covered so probably not a great idea. No yard to speak of as I back onto a golf course. Some around here park there grills at the side of the house, but may be simpler for me to buy one of the better portable ones for both at home and camping.3d779c3dda0b15c49c93aef258c488d8.jpg

My friend bought that one last year and got all the adapter stuff to run to a big propane tank. It's nice. I wish we had it instead of the Road Trip. It's just kind of a pain to get out and set up, whereas this you can just set on a table.

Check the Cricut sites also.  The machines are different but similar and a lot of the designs are interchangeable.

The latest my wife found is users are replacing the cutter blade with a carbide tipped scribe pencil, then taping metal plates to the mat, and "etching" designs onto the plates.

Yeah, I just bought a Cricut mat because I read they are cheaper and last longer. We shall see.

I also bought a couple of Craftsy classes, one on general things and one focused more on the Studio software. I have done some quilting classes on Craftsy and they are pretty helpful. Am waiting for some supplies I ordered online to get started on that.

Those tiny houses drive me crazy.

people spend all this money on re-inventing the wheel, thinking they are so inventive with creating storage space, etc.  Why don't they just visit an RV dealer and purchase a TT.  probably be a lot better on gas mileage and more stable!

We have said that every single time someone on one of those shows says they are doing it so they can move their house. They can get an RV usually cheaper and with more space.
