Ok going to try and post some pictures here through Flickr. My son and I stayed at this place in Elizabethtown KY. It used to be a KOA but is privately owned now. We had a good time, even though pretty severe storms blew through one night. All things considered we had a good time and will probably go back sometime.

The last rules for carts info sheet I saw didn't say anything about them being required, and I can tell you there are lots driving around without them. Personally I kind of like them for when it's raining, or a bus in front of me kicking up dust, sand, etc.

I am not sure this will help with the "Phantom Site" problem though.
Doubt it. Seems they would actually prefer you pay for a site, but not stay there. I'm sure they'd probably be just fine with you mailing a check and staying home too! Pay, but don't use as many services and amenities is a great deal for Disney.

From then on it had a colored rag tied to the handle!
A helium filled balloon works great too.

Considering your resort accessibility does not expire until midnight it probably won’t affect if you leave you camper/rig in overflow while you go to a park. If it does just bring the camper to the park. Still get free theme park parking as a resort guest till midnight of check out day.
Good point. But what a hassle if it cones to that. Disney sure is doing their best to run people off. Of course this won't do much to stop the people they want coming. But eventually they will do something to really tick off their base. Kind of hope they don't push it to the breaking point, then take a half step back and call it a day. Oh well. Our trip in June has been booked for a while, so we'll just enjoy and play the rest by ear!

I really hope they don't mess with the overflow lot. We (like a lot of people I would assume) park in overflow if our site isn't ready yet. We also park there when we check out and still enjoy our last day at Disney doing stuff. This is a predictable but dissapointing move by Disney.

We were in site 1718, but I don’t really think there was a bad spot in the loop. It was perfect for us. Decent walking distance to bathrooms, quiet, and not much traffic
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkGood deal, thanks.

Did you have to pay extra to have your camper sprinkled in Pixie Dust?!

It's so visitors from the surface of the sun can get some relief from what must feel like Florida's harsh frigid temperatures!

Enjoying our stay!! I requested and we are in the 1700 loop. I’m glad we chose this loop! Beautiful, lot of space and not far from the meadows. We have a golf cart, so everything feels close. After driving around I like these spots as much (or more) as the premium lots.
Definitely the best campground I’ve ever visited!!! Just another reason to love WDW!!
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkGlad you posted this. After several years in the 400 or 200 loop we are making the jump to a full hookup loop this year. I'll definitely try and snag a 1700 loop site. What site were you in? Did you see any others that caught your attention (good or bad)? Glad you had a good time!

I have it on my phone. (Samsung) If there is a site you are interested in let me know, I'll look it up and post the info.

On a somewhat different note...is anyone else confused by the sidewalk added next to the path from the 4-way stop down to TE? What I mean by this is, we always ride bikes at the Fort. At first, we tried riding our bikes on the new sidewalk, but then we were caught up with guests who were walking/pushing strollers. Now we use the golf cart path, which ticks off a few drivers...but, what else is a family to do?
Probably better to tick off a few golf carters than get into a wreck with a stroller. Of course you wind up being the "stroller" if you get in a wreck with a cart. I know this isnt exactly a step out here, but the selfishness and rudeness of some folks on the golf carts was crazy last time we were there. I really hope they get it under control.

Good call on the a/c, thanks!

+1 on the Smoky Bear tip. It's our favorite place to stay in that area. Bear cove village is less than a mile from Dollywood and I think on the trolley route. They were recently bought though, and are converting into a Jellystone park. Looks like prices may have gone up too.

That's what they used at the cabins too.
Makes sense. When you can cook directly on the table top it saves on the gas/electric bill!

The Allstays app shows overnight parking at the Walmart and Cracker Barrel...but we've never stayed at either, so I cannot comment on safety. Sorry!
I looked around on Allstays yesterday. Had good info, but I didn't see an android app. The plan is to stay at Wal-Mart or Lowes in Tifton, top off the tank, then hit the road. Still open to any thoughts though. Thanks.

Metal picnic tables? I bet those are comfy in June & July!

Thanks for the heads up. We're really looking to stop in a parking lot somewhere in that general area to save a buck. (And because we're super classy like that!) I think at the time we will be stopping, there shouldn't be an issue of taking up too much space or anything. I imagine all of the stores, besides maybe Wal-Mart, will be closed anyway. I guess my biggest concern is whether or not this a decent part of town to stop. Thanks again!

We've been watching all day. If you want to get our attention, you can use the report button, it's much better at getting our attention than downvoting people who aren't us.
As far as this thread is concerned, I don't see the foul, frankly. Once the phone number was removed, I don't think there's anything wrong here. I don't see any bad intent on the part of the original poster, and I'm on record for quite a long time now as being generally against mods deleting posts. If the OP wants to delete, that's his prerogative.
Hooray for common sense!

Does anyone know how the vending machines work? Does Disney own them or Coke? Surely the owner has to give a cut to the other. This is just a way to cut out the middle man, and sell drinks direct without the maintenance hassle. Plus they might not have to deal with as much red tape like Keith said.

Don't let TCD run you off. Admittedly I haven't read all of his close to 22,000 posts, but of the ones I have read the majority have a negative tone them. I wouldn't take it personally. You said your piece, he expressed his opinion, as is often the case, folks disagree. That's the way it goes sometimes. I'd hate to see a wealth of information like you lost over something this trivial.

I know there have been similar posts on stop over points in the Tifton/Valdosta area, but I was looking for more specific information than what I found on the search. We are looking to stop in this area on the way down in June, specifically at the Wal-Mart, Lowe's or Cracker Barrel in Tifton, or the Home Depot, Mall, Cracker Barrel in Valdosta. Im looking for anyone with specific places that work well, or to specific places to avoid in this area. For that matter, what about the area itself? Is this a fairly decent part of town? There seems to be a fair amount of suggestions for stopping in this area, which gives a little more confidence that it's not too bad. I can roll with the punches if we get there and need to change plans, but I like having a goal before starting. Thanks.

Ugh.. we don't get there, until the 16th. However... considering coming down early (not at the Fort) so, if that happens, I'll let you know.
We are going to Jetty park at Port Canaveral, then getting to the Fort on the 17th. Have you been in June before? We usually go the week before memorial day, so we're not sure how much different this trip will be.

FYI...I filled out the online form last Saturday, and the replacement arrived today. It has instructions to return the recalled one, and comes with a return label. You do have to call and schedule a pick-up as it cannot be dropped off at a fed-ex location. Hopefully I don't have to present for them to pick it up. The new one seems to be build much better quality. It is a different size though. It came with a new mount so I'll have to install it but I think the screw holes will line up with the existing mount, so it should just be a matter unscrewing the old, and screwing in the new one.
