  1. Love the video of the "flooding" in the 1900 loop. For those of you not from Florida, note the trees in that loop. It was built in a Cypress Tree swamp! Whenever you buy a home in Florida the first thing you look for is Cypress Trees because that's where the water is going to be someday - SWAMP! Beautiful trees - but, look at the skirt (wide base) on the tree and see where the high water mark is - LOL! The Fort is great, no matter what, but those trees are a dead giveaway about water level - especially if you camp in the rainy summer season.
  2. Guess they can control early entry but the evening hours- LOL! Those guests have always been there at night and no one checks and asks them to leave. Yes, maybe they can' t get on rides, can't verify that, but its not always about the rides. They are just legitimizing a part of the crowd that already exists and forging their relationship with "other" branded hotels on Disney property. Once again, clever marketing.
  3. Glad to hear. We were at the Fort a week ago and since we are passholders and didn't carry any bags we weren't stopped for a security check at ANY of the parks OR even getting off the launch at the Magic Kingdom. At the launch landing we were directed to walk between the two scanners! I'm sure there is a lot of undercover security around but it sure didn't give us a good feeling knowing we were never checked, not once, entering the parks. Made us a bit uneasy especially in the massive extended hours Magic Kingdom crowd. We avoided the hub and made sure we were close to the Cast Member exit by
  4. How disappointing. Sorry to hear that. Lesson learned for all of us. When you are checking around and the dates are available - BOOK IT and make other decisions later! Unfortunately since the system has no penalties until you get in the cancellation window it has created a subculture of bookers/cancellers to hold spots and book out our favorite campground. Hopefully things will open up again for you real soon.....try booking single days. Good Luck and enjoy Spring Break - hopefully at the Fort! May the "fort" be with you.
  5. Thirsty? Need a quick salty snack? Go to Baseline Tap House and grab a beer and pretzel. Adult hideaway, limited menu (pretzels, almonds, charcuterie), not for kids. Don't see this lasting very long. Limited indoor seating but also noticed never crowded. Hmmmm-time will tell.
  6. Check out the "spa" facilities on site such as "Senses" at Saratoga Springs or Grand Floridian. https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/spas/ If you were coming in the summer I would say just step outside your camper-LOL! All kidding aside have a lovely trip from one spa lover to another.
  7. For all the local APholders that go day tripping to DW, when we don't stay at the fort, a credit card linked to the band for all visits would be awesome! Hope that day comes real soon. Maybe testing the AP discount is a positive step in that direction.
  8. Great suggestions! Fort Fiends always know how to get it done.
  9. Thanks, Tri-Circle-D, that's exactly the info I was looking for. Was wondering how all that was going to work if we were already in the park. Love our Magic Bands and the cooler weather coming in this week!
  10. Are the MNSSHP Tickets linked to your Magic Band? If so, do they give you an additional band when you get there to differentiate you from the rest of the regular guests? Looking forward to going for the first time this year and wondering how they clear out the park of regular guests by 7:00 if you don't have some visual indicator that you paid for a party ticket. Can any party goers fill us in on how this all works?
  11. Bring your own towels. If you have children traveling with you they will appreciate the pool by the Meadows Trading Post. This is the family fun pool. Lots of pool activities, food and beverages. On the other hand the Wilderness Pool by the cabins and tent camping loop is the "quiet" pool. Great place to cool off but no activities, no lifeguards, no Cast Members, no food or beverages. It's nice to have the two options.
  12. Agreed-here's our recent observations. Pictures and description Disney supplies of "Full Hookup Site" don't apply to 2100. They are misleading. Concrete pads are shorter and narrower with a Coquina pad at the back that accommodates a backpacking tent. Sites vary from backing up to small creek opposite the tent camping loop, smaller crowded wooded sites backing up to loop 1100, others backing up to a crossroads and bus stop. Saw many trucks and cars parked in the roadway as Class A's and trailers tried to squeeze by and left instead of staying. The entrance to the loop is very tight! One advan
  13. I haven't been to the campfire, do they check your magic band or annual pass? If not, anyone visiting Disney Springs has access to the free buses that puts them right inside the fort where they can catch another bus to the campfire. Am I wrong in my assumption?
  14. Unfortunately security at Disney isn't well thought out or consistent. You get scrutinized like crazy before entering one of the theme parks. You can get hassled trying to enter a parking lot at Disney hotels (not all of them). But park your car at Disney Springs, use the FREE bus transportation and you have the keys to the kingdom-access to all the hotel/resort areas no questions asked. Once again its that false sense of safety fostered by Disney. It really excels at "perceived" security vs "actual" security. Won't stop me from enjoying my visits to Disney but its definitely a place to use y
