    That makes sense
Halloween has become THE time to be at the Fort and the decorations outpaced Christmas a while back and seem to just keep growing.  Some of the displays are pretty amazing. Where Christmas can be lots of lights and blowups, Halloween really seems to bring out the super creative in people.
My guess is you're right about the cart, especially around Halloween when the place is already full and crazy. And ON Halloween... fuggeddaboutit
Since Halloween has gotten so busy over the years, it seems like every year there's at least an incident or 2.
And my guess is some of them definitely involve adult beverages.

Most of the bigger decorated sites will be set up about a week before Halloween, or at the very least the weekend before.
You might be able to get in around those times if you say you're going to Trails End for dinner, or better yet get a reservation for lunch or dinner then they would definitely let you in.
You really shouldn't try to go over on Halloween itself with a golf cart.  The loops are wall to wall people with kids darting all over the place.  Personally, I think they should block carts from the loops on Halloween night and restrict them to the main roads.
Since the loop Trick or Treating is not a Disney event, they will probably never do that because it might upset some guests.
But I think it was last year or the year before, there was an incident with someone getting bumped by a cart and then a fight ensued.  There may or may not have been adult beverages involved.

I think it's actually been even longer than that (4-5 years?).  We were there right after that rule went in effect and it was hit or miss enforcement even then.
We haven't been during the holidays since 2016 but it was our go-to time for a bunch of years prior to that.  Not sure about the last couple of years, but we'd noticed there were a good bit fewer Christmas decorations than there were when we first started going that time of year (2006).
On the flipside, it seems like Halloween decorations have increased by quite a lot over those 10 years.

There is a thread about this years Halloween Decorations being cut back.  Some rules that previously weren't being enforced now are.
It's been 2 or 3 years since they posted about the decorations being turned off at 10.  Again it's one of those hit or miss enforcements.

Thank you much! I'd hate to pay $67 for a cart and just see a lot of dark! LOL

From Christmas 2018, our small contribution to the loop 800 decorations.
It looked much better at night when it was lit and the three were moving around.

I'm sure there is an owner's group on FB somewhere. Might be best to join, or a review sight describing the problems 🙂
The owner's group will defend them and the review site will blast them, and then you at least have both sides of the story 🙂

Or a 10 minute bike ride or a 15 to 20 minute walk

Yep, that plus being close to the whole Meadows Area (pool, trading post...) is exactly why they're now Premium.
That said, I've always thought that if you have a golf cart, the location of the loop you're in doesn't matter so much because you're always a 5 minute golf cart ride away.  🙂

Sorry... just saw this!   I made it up and back (left Atlanta Friday at 5:15a, got back back yesterday at 4:30p).
Yes, selling a rig can be a hassle.  We've priced it $7k less than any dealership we can find online, so we're hoping it sells quickly.  It's literally sitting on the sales lot:  it's that new.  LOL

For those interested in the outdoor range, it is called Tenoroc Shooting Sports & Training. They have a website that gives detailed directions, it is just outside of Lakeland/Polk City (exit 38 on I4).

My Favorite is either the 800 or 900 bus stop where they overhang has been hit many times.  They finally cut it back at angle.  I assume this is from RVs coming out of the loop but it could be the internal buses.

Ha! still works! Guess I'll need to find a new photo host if I'm going to post any more pictures. Oh, these are the old school "Free Refill" mugs that were supposed to be free for life. This was when Port Orleans was really Port Orleans and not French Quarter.

Thanks for sharing.  Sorry about the hiccup, but glad that you were able to get back on the road fairly quickly.

Two diesel mechs that I know use the grey/silver bottle of Power Service additive as a primer for the filter. Much easier to  keep around.

Diesel owners should always carry a spare fuel filter. Easy to change and usually a good place to start.
Glad you got it fixed up!

We are also in Maryland.  We live in Street/Jarrettsville located in Harford County.  I agree with you, the drive through northern Virginia is horrible.

Before we permanently relocated to Florida we made a yearly trek from Maryland to Florida. First, we stayed in hotels on our southern drive as we always stayed at a Disney on property resort. More truth in advertising, I haven't stayed at the Fort since 1976. Now that that's out of the way I'll combine the two. We've made more than a few southern trips from Maryland to Florida in our RV. Mostly to Naples and Tallahassee but the breakaway has either been 10 across or I-4 out of Jacksonville. Soooo... the southern route. We take 95 south to Rt 301 and cross the Harry Nice bridge to King George VA. I personally hate 95 in northern VA so much that I pay a $36 toll to cross what I call "ass clencher bridge".
If you're coming from further north you might consider Americamps RV resort in Richmond VA. Very nice place and Big Rig friendly. Not a place we stop at on all trips south.
Our first stop from leaving home was Fayettville RV Resort In Fayettville NC. All our stops are big rig friendly, and they are all just off of I-95. The last stop south is Coastal Georgia RV Resort. It's in the area of Brunswick. From there, it a short 3 hour trip to Disney.
All of the places mentioned above have nice facilities and full hook up level sites.
I'd post some pictures of each but there is a size limit that's way smaller than anything I have.
Hope this helps somebody who might be in the planning stage looking for a nice overnight stop. All are nice for a bit of a stay as well.

Thanks for the information. Where in Maryland are you from? My family moved there when I was in middle school. We lived in Columbia. I went to college at Salisbury. Also went a semester to Mount Saint Mary's in Emmitsburg.
