My guess is your flip phone will do just as good a job as a smart phone in keeping the paper menu from flying off your table.

As long as your phone can access the internet.  It might not be able to read a QR code, but you can find the menu's on the WDW website for each restaurant.  My Father in Law still uses a flip phone, too.  He does have internet access with it.  It's slow, but it works.

No internet for me on phone. 😁

  2. Of some of the things I have purchased, I picked up the 2021 Passholder Magicbands. We bought our Platinum Plus passes 3 years ago and never got to activate them. We did this trip and man it's crazy how much they have increased in price. I know a lot of people are complaining about the cost of APs now which is why I thought it was in poor taste that Disney used    Scrooge McDuck on the 2021 Passholder bands.

Sorry, but this made me laugh.   WDW doing honesty in marketing?

Your trip is going well even with the blips, thanks for sharing.  and YES the nights have been chilly 🙂

Not camping related, but thought you "puppie" owners would enjoy.

We moved to a new complex in Illinois, where we spend the summer near our daughter, and they tout being "pet friendly".  Well they definitely live up to their word, we got this email today.

    DROOL IN THE POOL..

With Monday being the last day the pool will be open, we are dedicating Tuesday September 28th, to our 4 legged furry friends.  We invite all the dogs to come and swim that day from 10 am- 6 pm. We will have special treats for them to enjoy. We will make sure the water is at an enjoyable temperature for them.
We look forward to seeing you all there.

That's pretty cool, Knoebels Amusement Park in Elysburg Pa also has a large spring fed swimming pool, every year the weekend after Labor Day they hold a Doggie Dive there, draws a good size crowd and something different to see.

    AW what cool ideas.

Then things have changed, right from FAQ about the program.  Also not what I heard from our friend

Q: Do you need to live in company sponsored housing?
A: No, living in company sponsored housing is not a requirement. CPs may opt to find their own housing, which may or may not be less expensive (depending on a number of factors like roommates, location, amenities, transportation costs, etc…) though many CPs choose to live in program housing as it can be easier than securing a short term lease on their own, and transportation to and from work is included in the rent. Additionally, housing events take place for CPs, and many participants worry that by living off site they may miss out on some of the experience

Nice to know that has changed.

How is that any different than a vast majority of CO-OP jobs at any college?   You get to work for slightly above minimum wage for College Credits and no other benefits and there is no guarantee that you will be hired after graduation.  I have a good friend who swears by the College Program and he "Loves DIS" for the doors that the program opened for him.  He is currently the Director of Ticket Operations for an NFL team.

I have no idea about co-op college jobs.  I only know what friends and family who were part of Disney's college program told me.  They had no choice but to stay in Disney apartments with up to 6 other kids, maybe more I forget.   Could not stay with family or friends, money deducted from pay for rent and more my brain is not remembering.

The sad thing is that when they began the college program 5 years ago, the old traditions and mindset were mostly intact. The girls met a lot of people who had long and happy careers at Disney.  That all was slowly eroding before the pandemic, and then Disney decided to just get all the niceties over with and blame it all on the pandemic. So what?  The executives and shareholders are happy, and at least for now there will continue to be an oversupply of college kids who don’t have any better options than to work as slaves for 6 to 9 month contracts with no benefits.  Disney always wins.

I've called them indentured servants for a long time.

Officially canceled our trip for the 50th. Too much uncertainty in Florida, too expensive, and we're really on a downward spiral with feelings for the mouse lately.

Plus, we just lost my father and need to get my mom on solid footing. Way too many other places to visit and see, life is too short.

    Yes it is.
