  1. I like the idea of the spray foam compartments in the panels to help hold it. I was thinking like the way this guy does it. http://www.davidsrepairservice.com/gallery/jayco-roof/ But I don't want to cut the outside of the roof. But I am going to eternabond every seam and around the AC when it is resealed.
  2. PGHFiend. What do you use to glue the rubber roof down with to the luan? Is it contact cement? It is the rubber roof with the felt backing. Thanks for the help!!
  3. So far I am enjoying the challenge. I am lucky enough that my father is a master wood worker and lives with us. So I have a full cabinet shop in our back garage. And the project seems like it will not be to bad. My plan of attack. Get everything as dry as possible. So far it is doing a good job of that. Then start rebuilding the roof but I am going to try doing it from the inside only not to disturb the outer roof layer. I have the bad stuff pealed back to that layer. Pull off the AC as the gasket needs replaced Rebuild the roof in layers I was thinking of using 1/4 starboard aroun
  4. Here is what the roofing of a hybrid camper looks like when you peel it it back. And here is the dehumidifier I have running in the bathroom tub to help dry it all out. I figure I will let this run 24/7 for the next week. also you can see where I am separating the roof membrane material from the very wet wood. I took it all back until I hit dry wood. So far it is drying out really well. And lastly this is what the whole camper is built out of. PGHFiend wow you were not kidding on cheap construction and easy dis assembly! I am now formulating the plan on repair an
  5. Looks much worse than it could be. I will have some more pics of the removal of the bad stuff and how I am drying everything out before the rebuild.
  6. Here are some pics of the start. This is the ceiling right after I peeled off the ceiling paper which looks like nothing more than wallpaper. The bathroom leak after removing the shower walls and the ceiling paper.
  7. Hello all! So I am slow at things and let's see if I can keep this repair/report up. Here is the story. We have a 2004 Jayco 23b. Love this thing. Bought it because of staying in the cabins at FW a long time ago. But as much as it hurts to say this we have not used it as much as I want to. So she sits outside. I check her once and a while. Found leaks here and there and fixed them. But overall she is in great shape. Well fast forward to about two weeks ago. Noticed a leak in the bathtub from the ceiling. No big deal I though. Yeah I should remember that statement. Got up an
  8. Well I was told I can not hang him in my living room by DW. Maybe I should shoot for in the camper?
  9. Just saw this in my Facebook feed. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Disney-FORT-WILDERNESS-Melvin-Moose-COUNTRY-BEAR-JAMBOREE-Puppet-Prop-/390944999106?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item5b062346c2
  10. Double post. On a side note we are going to the World next weekend and staying at AOA. Most importantly we are getting AP's and I am planning to start making trips much like you have with the girls.
  11. I have not posted in a while. But it has been great to read along your journey. I am sure it is a hard yet magnificent experience and the memories you have with all of the TCD girls is priceless! Great job on being a great father and playing such an important in the girls lives. Definitely an example to follow with my rugrats.
  12. Enjoy everything and take the time to explore. There are so many wonderful things just at the Fort that you don't even need to go to the parks and most are free! Fireworks every night campfire every night Yeah it is just awesome and a camper is the only way to enjoy it!
  13. Wow did they bring a semi to carry all of that stuff!
  14. These are the type of trips that I love. I am planning on one of these with my oldest soon. For us it is a little backwards the youngest and the boy gets a lot of the cool stuff while she gets left out a little. I am loving it!
  15. Really is sad that our government is not exploring one of the only new frontiers left to us. But then again greed and corruption does that and their must not be any free flowing money to be made from it. I have vivid memories of the first Shuttle launches and watching them in school and being amazed and proud of what our country was accomplishing! Now my kids just get to see which ever puppet gets placed in office from either party. I wonder when China makes first contact with an alien race if they will offer cheap manufacturing to them?
  16. We love the dinner there. Best value buffet on property. Not the absolute best food ever but for Disney the value is really good. Granted up and down over the years but the best chicken on property and the service has always been fantastic. Come on Josephine! I wish the would do more with it and really wish they don't change or ruin it. Long time ago we had lunch there and it was a buffet.
  17. I have spent some time at The Redneck Yacht Club and all I can say the place were you go is a much nicer environment. We went as a guys only a couple of times. My camper another's toys. Let's just say I am not old or a prude but there is stuff going on there that made me cringe. The 4 wheelers and sitting around a fire were a blast. Nothing like seeing just how close to the edge of getting stuck you can get. Looks like you guys had so much fun!
  18. Wow I remember those signs outside of DHS. I thought it would have been really cool. And the night clubs are a sad item for me. I was a DJ in local clubs and on the radio growing up and loved going to see the crazy light show and the sounds at PI. Although I fully understand the low life element and the crap stirred up from that I think Disney could have changed the whole area up and had a true family friendly area. A dinner show like House of Mouse, and a night club party type place for whole families. So much could be done but in true Disney fashion they would rather tear up and destroy
  19. Wow Walt said "If you wish upon a star!" I believe it now. I really didn't want this. It just didn't sound like a good fit. Hell build a Star Wars land at DHS or use that talent and build something with your own properties at AK.
  20. So awesome little Lou has a great home. And even more awesome Big Lou opened his heart to the little guy!
  21. Thank you for all of the hard work you do in documenting and spending time at the Fort. Men like you make the world a better place. So I named you A Real Fiend of Genus! (Enjoyed the report as always!)
