  1. All of the above!! This is our 6th year camping here and we have never come across this. Last year we pulled a trailer for my dads power wheel chair with no problems. This year we strapped our stroller to the back to tow "home" and were told "remember there is no towing behind your golf cart." I looked up the rules on disneys site and in the info packet to see if such a rule existed. Nope. So I called the front desk and talked to 3 people who confirmed that it was completely ok to tow behind our cart. Barney, as we call him, is just making up rules as he goes! You can't do that!!

  2. It's finally time. After not being able to get from the parking space to the mall door without stopping the other week, DH has finally agreed to use an ecv. Doc will approve it so I called a couple of places to see how this whole thing works. We've rented before but never needed one to call our own.

I called 4 local places who sold ecvs and powerchairs. None of them were terribly helpful. FInally ended with the scooterstore, who also insisted what he needed was a powerchair. He needs something for outdoor use - the mall, wdw, DD's school, ect. He gets around fine inside the house and needs to keep using what's left of his muscles while he still has the ability. He wouldn't use a powerchair inside - at least hopefully not for many years yet - but he can't walk any distance without muscle fatigue and the risk of falling.

To get him to accept the idea of regularly using even a scooter is a major achievement. In the past when he's rented, both he and the ecv sat more than left the room, and I wasn't permitted to take pictures of him in the ecv. It's taken us a long way and a lot of adjustments to get to the point of considering buying one for keeps but here we are.

Can anybody explain why the huge push to buy a powerchair now before it's actually neccessary, as opposed to something that will actually meet his needs at this time? Any suggestions for dealing with the salespeople perhaps?

  3. I hope I am putting this in the right spot.

I am wondering at what age to you allow your kiddies to go to the comfort station alone or with a sibling.

We are frequent campers, but it's never been an issue because who cares how they look bumming around the local state parks But, at Disney we may run into bathroom gridlock. My DH suggested allowing our DD12 and DD6 go the comfort station to shower. My reaction was (and still is!!) absolutely, positively not!!! There are crazies everywhere. Even if our campsite is right next to the CS, who knows what could happen.

I pretty much have my mind made up.... no CS trips without a parent. But... am I over reacting? I may possibly consider letting the girls go while DH goes to the men's CS.

    Interested in your thoughts!!!

I dont even go to the comfort station alone!
