  1. Disney contracts outside companies, nope, it's not always Mears, to provide the DME, DCL and event bus services. Although Disney could tell them exactly how they want the routes done, it's been my experience in dealing regularly with those bus companies for private and special events, that they leave the minor details up to the companies providing the service and in many cases, the driver decides. I think it was a mistake on the drivers part to bypass the Fort. You know how bus drivers can be, they're not the brightest bunch.
  2. I never bought into that rumor because wouldn't that mean the Cameron owns Pandora, but Disney has never allowed outright ownership of any attraction at WDW or DL. The full agreement between Disney and Cameron was not divulged, but the details that were announced said that Disney entered into an exclusive, long-term licensing agreement with Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox Filmed Entertainment. It gives Disney worldwide theme park rights to Avatar. Disney paid Cameron and Fox a licensing fee and a percentage of merchandise sales. I have not found any confirmation that Cameron fi
  3. Because one of the movie themed areas at All Star Movies is themed after Herbie, I think he's stuck there. As of a couple of years ago, he was there.
  4. Nah, I think you're being too critical. I don't see it.
  5. I can see his head growing by the second. I hate to admit, but I'd have to vote for him, and not for just that.
  6. I did check and the jar of pickles is still there. It's in the area before the merchandise shop where you look at the photo taken on the ride.
  7. With readily available voice synthesizer technology, I don't understand why they don't have characters speak. The system they use for talking mickey is not state of the art and requires several off-stage CMs to pull it off.
  8. Are you going to mention how you pretended not be in your MH when I knocked on your door and you barking like a dog to give me the impression that you were not there? Btw, your dog bark needs work.
  9. I compared the Epcot version to the map a few years ago and it was a pretty close match.
  10. There never was an actual wedding ring, it was just the end of a metal tube with a piece of metal next to it that was close to the surface. The original kinda resembled a wedding ring but it was removed. Disappointed Guests complained to Disney because it had become an urban legend. Disney placed what appears to be a real wedding ring in a different location. It's part of the attraction so you don't need to know where it is, just ask one of the CMs when you enter the Que. I think it's a jar. Haven't been inside in a while, but I think it might still be there. Our DHS office is directl
  11. Sorry Fred, most of "The Streets of America" are gone and that's where it was located.
  12. The schedule is on MDE. Just a few more things: 1. Ask the CM at the door at the AA attraction if there is a phone call for you. Also ask them for a card. 2. Look down as you walk between Morocco and France and you’ll notice a strip of pavement that’s dark and is cobbled. It's a representation of the Strait of Gibraltar which in the real world separates the two countries. 3. Ask the bus drivers, monorail and boat CMs if they have the transportation cards. 4. In the Future World west courtyard, there's the very large "Inventor’s Circle" in the cement pavement. It depic
  13. I've been saying for at least ten years that the Monorails should be an attraction and not a means of transportation at WDW. Based on the fact that Monorails transport a small percentage of the total number of guests at WDW, roughly 15%, it wouldn't have that much of an impact. It's been proven over and over that buses are much cheaper, usually quicker and as a result, more efficient. Ya, I know, they're not cool looking. It's time to prolong whatever life they have left by reducing their operating hours by converting them to an attraction.
  14. I can see them on my Commodore 64. Hey, stop smirking, it still works.
  15. I can't recommend the Alaska cruise enough, non stop amazing scenery. Of all our DCL cruises, it was by far the best. Sharing it with Dave and Linda made it even better.
  16. Yes, I'm still alive. A little bird told me that Dave was embarrassing himself by doing a TR, so I needed to read how he crashed and burned..........this time. I sure hope he didn't run into Melvin the Moose on his cruise. All we need now is for TnBob to show up.
  17. It was a two street. Disney CMs, no matter how high up, love to make what are called "Magical Moments", and as Dave can now verify, the CMs involved enjoyed making it happen. And unbeknownst to him, the GM and the CMs involved, got to see his reaction after receiving the sign. It was a nice moment for everyone involved.
  18. Stopped by to read the responses to your surprise gift. I know how important this was to you and so glad that it worked out as it did. I'm not too surprised that the WL GM did it, just at how quickly it all happened. Long live Melvin.
  19. Dave, aka Grumpy & Grandma, and I will be visiting friends at LazyDays, Sat, a week from tomorrow. Post your site# if you can and want some visitors.
