I wonder how long the repositioning cruise would be? The would be a cool trip...
Cruising at 20knots it would take about 13-14 days to go from Los Angeles to sydney.
but I would imagine they would stop at few places. Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand for example -
It’s been a while and I hope everyone is doing well.
I need some suggestions for our upcoming Christmas trip.
My wife and daughter have been bugging me for years to stay at the grand Floridian. But not only stay there but stay there over the christmas holiday.
Well I decided to pull the trigger and I booked us a room at the GF for this Christmas. As some of you know it’s been one hell of a year, 10 months, for us. so I feel we need this.
So I figured since I’m going into debt anyways I might as well go all in and book us some extras. But I’m not sure what extras we, they should do.
I will be sending the DW & DD to the grand Floridian spa one day.
thought about renting a boat one night to watch the fireworks.
Since I was raised Catholic Christmas Eve has always been a bigger “deal” to us than Christmas Day.
So I need some recommendations for a special place to go for a traditional Christmas (Eve) dinner.
And a special place to go for Christmas Day breakfast or brunch .
I’m thinking it might be cool, but very busy, to have breakfast/brunch at the magic kingdom. But I'm open to any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

It's not just customer service, it's employee service as well. I never got what I was supposed to get such as tickets, discount coupons and vouchers before our spring visit. We went down anyway and when I got to Epcot I went to Guest Services to at least get myself and two guests into the park. I did but it was a mess. The status of my file still has to be straightend out before my next visit. But I never did receive what I had requested over the phone. Turns out the CM on the phone was working from his home and didn't have access to what he needed to help me. I'll try again after things hopfully get back to normal.
Did you see what djsamuel posted?
Those snack coupons expire in September, I know you probably won’t be back to WDW before then.
but you could mail them to me. I’ll pay for the postage. Lol. -

The last ride of the night is going to be Mine Train. We make are way over and wait the 35 min posted time. After this we are done. We make are way out we walk thru the castle. We take are time and really look around. We decide to not leave the park just yet. There is a mob of people walking out and a huge line to get in the shops. We decide to take a bench down a side street by the glass shop. It is so quite here there is only 2 other people. This is the first time that I heard the singing lessons going on in one of the upstairs windows. After a bit I wander in the glass shop and look around. We sit down here for about a half hour. We then make a stop in the Town Hall I want to fill out a card about the great service I got earlier. There is a small wait I don't mind. After this I can't delay any longer we head out.
We find the boats and wait. We wait about 15 min when a boat pulls up for us. This time the captain tells us if we are using Disney transportation we need to wear are mask. We find a seat only to be moved 3 times trying to get everyone on. The captain was nice about it and we had a good time teasing him about it.
We get back to are site and find out we have new neighbors. The family that was packing up when we left is gone and someone new is in there spot. Ok so when are they closing the loop?
Tomorrow we get to sleep in no park. What will we do?
Pool day is my guess?

Cant speak for other days. I just know today was a horrible shit show because of 5 million people needing to call in.
I will say they had reduced the call center numbers greatly and have been hiring and training in mass to get number back up.That would explain the crappy customer service and the extremely long hold times.
-
And now that I think about it it’s not just Disney that seems to have fires all of their operators.
I called American Airlines twice times last week and both times had an 4+ hour wait.
I called Friday at 7:30pm and left my number to be called back in 4 hours. They finally called back at 3:04am. -

Just a note on today. It was the worst possible day you could have called. They opened the Boo Bash tickets today a week early for onsite guests but it had to be called in.
It wasn’t just today.
it’s happened a lot lately.
I had trouble getting through while planning our May trip.I had issues during our May trip and i tried to call with busy signals and 100+ minute wait times.
I tried calling last week and weekend and had to wait for ever.
tried yesterday and couldn’t get through.

Has anyone else noticed the decline in customer service when you call WDW?
First of all the cast members answering the phones don’t seem to be as knowledgeable, nor are they as friendly as they used to be.
Second of all, have you tried calling Disney World lately? I’ve had to call them several times and on more than one occasion, including today, I’m getting busy signals. If I don’t get a busy signal there is a 2 to 3 hour holder time.
Thirdly is anyone else having trouble with the park reservation system? Mainly us annual passholders
i’ve been having issues with trying to get park reservations. We have two upcoming trips and both of them are split stays.
meaning we will be staying at bonnet creek and at a Disney property both times. I already have park reservations four the days I will be at Bonnie Creek but when I try to make them for the days will be staying at Pop Century it says I have exceeded my limit. So I have to call Disney explain to them that I’m using three days With my annual pass and staying off property and I’m using for days on property. The park reservation system doesn’t seem to be set up very well. -

Last year was a Taste of Food Abd Wine due to Covid. This year doesn’t mention a taste. That’s about as much guess work as I have until it they release more.
your right. I forgot about that key word…”Taste”.
I hope it will be as it has been in years past. -

They generally do.
That’s great to know. It would SMB to arrive at F&W and some of the food booths were closed.
it seemed like last year there were fewer food choices. But maybe it was just me or Covid. what do y’all think?

I would love to go to one of these after hours events. But it’s hard to justify the extra expense. Even with an AP discount it would cost us an additional $450-$480 for the 3 of us to go this October.
-
I’m in and thanks for taking the time to write this report
We must have just missed each other. We arrived at WDW on the 21st and are heading home today.
I loved not having to wear a mask outside and being able to walk around with a snack or drink and not being yelled at about my mask down.

Someone posted on a FB site with a picture of a round sign with a triangle shaped prong on the bottom stuck in the ground. Has a Mickey Hat/ears design with the letter A below it. The poster said the entire alphabet is scattered around the Fort. No one on the site had a clue of what they are.
Interesting!!!
any way to post the pix of the sign?

Just curious buts what’s the “Disney C suite”?
Golf cart rentals at the fort
in General Camping Discussion and Questions
Posted
We will be at WDW over Christmas. We won’t be staying at the fort but would like to rent a golf cart and drive around and see all the Christmas displays. There will be 5 of us.
Does anyone know if they rent 6 seater golf carts at the fort? Their website only says 4-seaters.
And can I reserve one in advance?
Thanks.
