  1. I was able to park it at an angle in front of the fiver on site 728 from the 27th of Dec to the 3rd of January and not have any tire touching the grass. I didn't take any pictures though. I did have an incident with a grill on site 623 though. That was a tough parking job with the trees beside the entrance to the site. Here is a picture from site 623 from last February.
  2. TCD is correct that we make the trip fairly regular from Central Louisiana. 860 miles one way. I don't think I can give you good advice though cause I spent over ten years cross country driving in a Peterbilt and that is what we use to tow our fiver with now. I only stop once for fuel. We like to leave Louisiana around 4 in the afternoon and drive until close to midnight. That puts us at the rest area on I-10 just east of Crestview, FL. We crawl in the fiver and sleep until daylight then hit the road again. That puts us pulling in to the Fort at 1pm Fort time. Our two children and two dogs tra
  3. Big word of Advice. Take the time and go out early one morning and take in this view. The camera just does NOT relay the grandeur of this view. I made it a point to go to this spot and find out for myself why TCD is so enamored with this view on our last visit. Once there I knew instantly why. It is "Magic" to Bel13ve in!
  4. Fix-It-Felix. On edit, I should have read a little further before jumping to answer.
  5. I so wish to see the water level back at that point. Bear Rock is not Bear Rock high and dry like it is now.
  6. Well on December the 27th at 10:00 am the line was backed up to the entrance to EPCOT and I was in it with the fiver being pulled by "Pete". It was not a fun time, but it only took about 20 minutes to get through the booth and hang right to the entrance to the Fort.
  7. Strange, I have never noticed the YMCA. Guess I'm too busy holding onto the steering wheel and watching for other motorist so I don't run over them (never worry about them running over me! Not in "Pete") Looking forward to the Pood Forn! I saw your site several times but never saw anyone there to say HI to. Keep up the great report.
  8. All I'm going to say is my mother's maiden name was Arcenaeux.
  9. That picture is just too fuzzy to tell for sure. I will be back next month so My mission, and I have chosen to accept it, is to investigate this unknown cylinder and report back exactly what it is.
  10. OK. Great report so far. The cinnamon rolls are available in the big tent, I bought 3 of them there. They were cold though. . That is not a propane tank. It has a green diamond on it so it is either oxygen or nitrogen. It looks more like a nitrogen tank. Either way it is a non-flammable gas. Good one on the leap year 24 hours in the kingdom, took me a few minutes to figure that one out. I'm slow on the uptake sometimes. The holes cut in the fence are for the surveyors to shoot elevations through with a transit level.
  11. It was very nice meeting you at the potluck. Sorry you had such a icky time. I have been immortalized in a trip report. To bad neither of us was looking at the camera.
  12. Yep, left about 10 am on the morning of the third, pulled in at 7:30am on the fourth. Took a five hour nap at a truck stop about 10:30 pm then hit the road again. It was great to see you again.
  13. That is an interesting way to travel. Is there a size limit on the vehicle? What is the cost structure? Looking forward to reading more about this trip.
  14. Thanks for this info. I have been trying to find out if I needed to add the fiver as a vehicle or not. The only info the sun pass website gives is "if you pull a trailer a lot, then you must get a commercial account." Nothing about registering the trailer's plate number.
  15. Having Thanksgiving with Mrs. Specularius' family. Her Aunt is the personal secretary to the President of Ole Miss. She invited us to tailgate and watch the game. It was very fun.
  16. I got to experience the "Grove" for a first ever Tailgating experience for the November 24th game. It was an experience for sure. Just about froze too, it was 35 degrees in the stadium for the game.
  17. I was reminded by Mrs. Specularius today that someone else took a long break after a certain trip report to a slowly rotting away feature before he returned to the life of reporting. Although that was another life in another environment that is not to be named.
  18. That is good to hear. I just got curious and looked and he hasn't harassed anyone since October so I got a little concerned. He is our favorite zombie transporter.
  19. I don't get a chance to keep up with things around here very much, but I hope it is nothing serious with Lou missing.
  20. Congrats on breaking 10K! Now time for another report. :clint:
  21. Yes, I got it. The quality is OK, definately not HD. My 6 year old son watched it three times already. There is nothing as bad as what is in "Gone With The Wind" so I don't understand why Disney is holding it back.
  22. It's not hard at all when you back into it and knock it down. Oops. A crescent wrench and a few minutes you could un-bolt it and lay it down but ranger rick would not be happy.
