    Monorail info

I find it easier to take the Motor Cruiser(Green Flag) to Magic Kingdom and then catch the Launch(Gold Flag) around 7 Seas Lagoon. I think it is quicker and you don't have to walk as far and I like riding the boats, except for when it is in the low 40's...

Disney Cruise Line banning Nintendo Switches all together?

I sent an email to the cruise line help email. Here is the response I got: Elizabeth (Disney Cruise Line) Jan 31, 5:08 PM EST Dear Specularius, Thank you for choosing a Disney Cruise Line vacation! I would be happy to assist with information regarding bringing electronic items onboard. Personal, battery-operated DVD players may be brought onboard the Disney Cruise Line ships. Gaming units (such as Nintendo, Wii, Nintendo Switch, etc.) are not able to be brought onboard the ships as the equipment may not be compatible with the stateroom televisions. Guests can go to Disney's Oceaneer Lab during Family Time to play Wii. Once onboard, please check your Personal Navigator for times. If you decide to bring this type of equipment on the ship, it should be carried in a day bag. I hope this information has been helpful. If you require further assistance with any other inquiries, please feel free to contact us. Have a Magical Day! Elizabeth Email Communications Agent Disney Cruise Line *If applicable, please include your full name, reservation number, and phone number on all correspondence. PLEASE NOTE: All information is subject to change without notice and should be confirmed just prior to your sailing. Specularius Jan 30, 5:48 PM EST I have heard a rumor that Nintendo Switch handheld gaming devices are now banned from Disney Cruise line ships. Is this true? Should my child leave his Switch at home? Thanks,

Disney Cruise Line banning Nintendo Switches all together?

Any update on this? We are headed out on a Star Wars Day at Sea cruise on the 2nd of March and this is vital information. This cruise is to celebrate our daughter's 21st B-Day.

Mickey bars coming to the grocery store?!?!

Try a klondike Dark. It is exactly the flavor of a Mickey bar just without the stick.

    Our Fort Christmas Display

I too want to say thanks for all the work and money it took for such an awesome display. I enjoyed it tremendously.
  7. Enjoyed the fireworks last night from the dock. The eastern side of the beach was reserved for a desert party. Here is a picture from the dock of the party.
  8. That was the most people I have ever witnessed there. People had chairs lined up on the beach to save "their" spot and by noon the entire beach was covered.
  9. Here is a video. Hope everyone enjoys. https://youtu.be/LB209ewg2to
  10. This was the western side of the beach.
  11. It is being reported that gas golf carts are not allowed at the Fort anymore on the Momentum Owners Facebook page. One person claims to have verified it by calling the front office at the Fort. Is this true?
  12. Thanks for the information. I am well aware of how the "Front Desk" information seems to come out of thin air. I am also aware that some people on the interwebs believe that they are always correct and will not believe anything that is contradictory to their statement.
  13. I have been taking my gas cart for 4 years and have never seen anything that stated they were not allowed.

Funny, maybe not so funny, Google Map "detours"

The Lower Algiers ferry for 4 people should have been about $5. $2 if they didn't charge for the extra passengers.

    Where to eat Christmas dinner???

Our favorite for Christmas has been Liberty Tree Tavern. Has a homelike feel and is a classic turkey dinner.

    Cruise questions

Another option is the spend the night before at one of the hotels in Port Canaveral that offers the cruise package where you can park your car at the hotel while you are on the cruise. The hotel shuttle drops you off and picks you up. It comes out cheaper than the parking at the port. It is not as secure as the parking at the port, but so far we have not had any issues going that route. We did leave our fifth wheel camper at The Fort for a 4 day cruise last summer. We spent a couple of days in The Fort, then went on the cruise and spent a few more days in The Fort before heading home. Oh yeah, don't forget the toll road fees traveling between Disney World and Port Canaveral. But it is much cheaper to drive even with the tolls.

Disney Alaskan Cruise out of Vancouver

We are not renewing our annual passes this year, but instead we are taking the Alaskan Cruise. We have almost everything booked except an arrival and departure day hotel. Has anyone taken this cruise and have a recommendation for a hotel to stay at in Vancouver that doesn't cost as much as the cruise itself? Any recommendations on the shore excursions?

Disney Alaskan Cruise out of Vancouver

One big piece of advice...Take the longest cruise available. There is so much to see that the short cruises are just too short. Make sure that whichever cruise you book makes a stop in Icy Point Straight (Hoonah). It was the best stop of the entire cruise with the best fresh crab place ever at a reasonable cost. Also, always be looking outside. There is a breath taking view with every turn of the ship. It is nothing like cruising the Bahamas or the Caribbean. I am still working on pictures for my report. It is going slow with 2 weeks of work to catch up on.

Disney Alaskan Cruise out of Vancouver

Home from the cruise. It was FANTASTIC! Loved the Wonder. There were a couple of things that are better on the Dream, such as Senses Spa, but the smaller ship was just so much fun. We were surprised that our Captain was the same Capatain we had on a previous cruise aboard the Dream, Captain Henry Anderson. The weather was great, the scenery even better, and the crew was Awsome. I learned a lot that may be valuable to other Fiends in the future and I will get that out in a trip report coming soon. Now to catch up on laundry and recoup from the trip. Left Vancouver at 58 degrees and arrived home to 103 degrees. Talk about wanting to go back right now!
  20. I never figured out why, but this was reported before, on June 14th, 2017...
  21. Late to this report. Glad you had a great time. We are so looking forward to being on the Wonder in just 33 days! On the cabanas, along with the stocked fridge and sunscreen, you also get chips, a fruit bowl, golf cart transportation, bike rental, and snorkel rental. With a family of four, that all adds up. We splurged on a cabana on our last cruise. It was two stop at Castaway Cay and we got the cabana on the second stop. It was fantastic.
  22. Just looked through the May issue of Trailer Life and there is an article about camping at the Fort. Boy, with it as hard as it is to get reservations there now, the Fort does not need this kind of publicity! Oh, and the top of one page is titled "Fort Wilderness "Fiends"".

I get the feeling that this "Reporter", cough, cough, has ties to a competing cruise line.

And the volume of ice cream those machines spit out is mind boggling. I did encounter a short period where they were out of cones, but it was a very short period and people were using cups to still get ice cream.

If he is so much superior, why did he not stay in the Concierge level? Having splurged on Concierge level once, That is the ultimate way to cruise Disney.
