  1. Thanks for the reply s. My grand kids are 12 and 10. I did n't even think about Blizzard Beach. Maybe we will do that instead. What ever park we go to it will be early and we will be exiting in the afternoon. As my grand kids and I are not morning drinkers, we can wait until we get back to camp to pop some cans of Bud. Just kidding.
  2. It been many years since I've been with my kids and now I am going to take my grandkids to TL in the middle of July. Not my most favorite time of the year. Just wondering, how early do I have to get there to get a lounge chair and can you bring your own? Do they ban coolers? Anything else I need to know? I live in Florida so I know about the thunderstorms in the late afternoon. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  3. Not sure about the science and marketing involved in these changes but the clothes are a complete make over. Minnie looses the polka dots and Mickey is no longer the Master of Ceremonys. In a politically correct world he is no longer the undisputed leader and appears more equal with Minnie. Don't know what to make of Minnie's dress however. Minnie looses the blue high lights around her eyes which makes her have more in common with the majority of the world which is brown eyed. Or it could be just something innocuous and we just see conspiracies in everything now. But that's just me, I could
  4. I am assuming that you are talking about a generator that is in a motor home. Otherwise you could take it home with you and start it there. Starting it and letting it warm up will help burn off moisture that can collect in the crankcase. It will also keep your batteries topped off and running your AC will keep the seals in the system from drying out and leaking. If you are storing it someplace I suggest you see if anyone at the facility can start it up once a month while you are away. While letting the unit sit for an extended period can cause the fuel in the carb to evaporate and clog up
  5. I have done both. We kept our little dog at the Disney Kennel and found it to be excellent. They give you a written report about how the dog did and give you a schedule of when they walk and feed your dot. If your dog has a special diet you have to provide it. Some times the CM at check in has a supply of Doggie treats. Our dog loves them. The Kennel also has a good supply. We only keep our dog in the kennel if we are going to be away for more than 8 hours. I don't want our dog to have to hold it for longer than that. We normally keep her in our motor home with the radio playing to hel
  6. We'll be there for the Marathon Weekend as well. We hope to be in the 1600 or 1800 loop near the canal. See you then.
  7. Upon leaving the Fort today I tried to set my reservations for 2016 and was told that they were sold out. Already??
  8. Just came back from AAA and they were advising as of this morning I-20, I-26, I 77, I-81 and I-95 are all fully operational.
  9. Some people misunderstand that the right of Freedom of Speech does not protect you from the negative reactions to what you said. Any company or individual has the right to refuse service to anyone on their property so long as they demonstrate that denial of service was not a result of a persons race, religion, sexual orientation or any of the other protect classes. Sounds like the guy was just a jerk. He needs to own his jerkness and move on.
  10. I like the 800 loop because the sites are bigger and there is a dog walk in the back of the outside sites. Look at the sites towards the back. I love site 841 as an example. Florida does have mosquitoes but Disney sprays when everyone is asleep and they encourage the growth of bats to eat mosquito larvae. Not that I think bats are such a big improvement. May should be a good time to come down. The pool water is still refreshing, not hot, it should not be crazy crowded and if you go to the parks you shouldn't burn in the sun to badly. I found the walk from the back of the 800 loop to the
  11. If they have it at Bongo's and you like seafood, you should try Paella. I also had some made with Chicken and it was one of the best things I ever ate, except for donuts.
  12. Looks like everyone can breath easy. Hurricane Center advised that the storm broke up over Haiti and will now just produce rain. The worst that will happen at the fort is they may get some rain to add to the standing water that is already in the full hook up loops.
  13. No puddles or standing water in the 800 loop but there was an alligator in the canal.
  14. I forgot one other important item. If you look around on this forum you will find an example letter that you can fill out with your information and fax it to the scheduling manager at the fort to request your specific site. I use this letter all the time and I have never been disappointed.
  15. You will find a lot of different opinions about what is the best site because everyone has different needs. I have a dog and a motor home so I don't need the comfort stations and prefer to stay away from them because of the noise at night. I like space between the sites so I love for spots in the 800 loop on the outside of the loop further in the back. I like 835,841,862 and 858 in that order because the are also large and give me extra parking spaces for visitors and golf carts. There is a bus stop at the entrance to the 800 loop but if you rent a golf cart you will be able to drive it to
  16. The only other RV dealer in Broward is Northtrail on Griffin, just north of the Bass Pro shops. Unfortunately they only do service for customers who buy from them and not very much of that. Their waiting list is often months. I have had to learn how to fix things myself because it is very difficult to find someone who can do it. If you can post pictures of your problem maybe I can help a little more. Water leaks are easy to fix but delamination is not.
  17. Check with K & K on Sheridan just east of 441. If they can't do it themselves, they would know of someone who could. Let me know it that works out for you. If not I have a few business cards of rv techs who respond to your site and do repairs.
  18. More horse power dictates how fast you will hit a fence. More torque dictates how much fence you will destroy.
  19. Before you drop your internet with Comcast and go to ATT for it you should check what their real download speed is. That is the only reason I have a bundle with Comcast because Att download speeds are limited by the phone lines. I kept my antenna up for over the air broadcasts because when picture quality is important it doesn't get any better with full 1080i. Both Comcast and ATT only provide 720i in my neighborhood. I also have all of your complaints about cable but I'm going to leave it alone until I move and then re figure the whole thing. I've seen other peoples RUKU and apple tv and
  20. Looks like its got everything you will need. Hope to see you at the fort someday.
  21. Find the Fort Fiends site app and look up the specific sites in each of the loops. In the description it will tell you the dimensions of each site. It is a very good app. I would avoid the 300 loop because its streets are narrow and difficult to maneuver such a long MH. On this site there is a form letter you can download and fill out that you fax to the number on the letter requesting that specific site. Have three choices and fax this letter 5 days before your arrival date. They do not assign specific sites before that time and they usually honor your requests.
  22. I think the 1600 loop is the best for the price. With your needs I would ask for a spot on the outside of the loop closer to the comfort station. It is a short walk to the bus stop from there. I like the outside sites because they are generally wider and you don't have neighbors close in back of your site. I prefer the sites along the canal in back because they are spacious and you can sit by the canal. We always rent a golf cart so transportation is not much of a problem around FW. You can get anywhere you want using the Disney transportation system but as a back up if you don't have ti
  23. You really should check the weight limits on your 5ver. The mattress on top of the mattress may cause your trailer to sway from side to side and the added weight from the cargo may cause a tire blow out or bearing seizure. You would not be able to use your unit on the trip back. But other than that I'd do it if someone was subsidizing my trip to the fort. But that's just me, I could be wrong.
  24. Do you have any experience with Orlando weather in late August. I know its the value season and so the costs in the tent loop are reasonable in comparision to other times of the year. I see people do it but it will not be comfortable. The golf cart will save you money in that with it, you will be able to skip a day or two of going to the theme parks and just stay in the campground. Golf carts are $50 a day and a theme park is $105 a day per person. Renting a pop up is a good suggestion (because it will have a refrig and A/C)but it could be more expensive than buying a tent,$200, a box fan
  25. The skimmers I've seen are small devices that are stuck over the slot that you insert your ATM card. It can be a gas pump or an ATM. It reads your card as you push it through to the real card reader. It has a small camera focused on the key pad and takes a picture of you putting your PIN into the machine. The skimmer stores that info and when it is removed by the criminal they then read the information, make a duplicate card and with your PIN number can then empty out your account. You can detect these types of skimmers by looking closely at the slot and see if it is raised from the base
