DisneyVampire reacted to Tri-Circle-D in Offsite Golf Cart Rentals
I believe that word of mouth is the best form of advertising.
I rented two Kenny carts over this past Memorial Day weekend.
Kenny has had a hard time keeping staff, so he was at the designated pick up and drop off location.  He was on time.  The carts were a little worn, but operated perfectly.
I still hate having to drive off property to get the carts and bring them back, but I saved about $300 over what renting from Disney would have cost.
    I give him a 10 out of 10.

DisneyVampire reacted to Beckers in Cars 3 tour
I was on the fence about going today. My friend went Friday (she didn't have reservations ) and waited 1.5 hours! I had reservations but was worried it would still be crazy. We got there and the line was pretty big but thankfully because of the reservations we got to walk right in.
We got to watch a trailer for Cars 3. They talked about the movie some, how they visited different places to see different car races (NASCAR vs dirt tracks etc) and showed some clips and at the end showed a "never seen before" clip from the movie. It really looks like a great movie and they said it's bringing back the heart of the original Cars. I'm excited to hear this because I didn't like Cars 2 at all but this one looks great. Both kids enjoyed the clips and we were all impressed with the "movie theater " inside the trailer. It probably held 100 people.
They had 3 cars on display, McQueen and 2 new ones (I don't remember their names) that you could take pictures with. They had it set up pretty decently with spots to stand on and employees to take your pictures.
They had a spot where the kids could color on a mural and then got a small pack of colored pencils
    .
They had a picture station with a McQueen backdrop (we skipped it). A spot where they were spinning a wheel and you could win tattoos (big decent ones) a toothbrush or toothpaste (it was sponsored by Crest).
Dole was handing out tiny smoothie samples that we couldn't have because they were made with almond milk. There was also another booth sponsored by Coopertone and the kids could change a "tire" and then have a picture taken that they emailed you.
    Not exactly high quality

DisneyVampire reacted to DaveInTN in Silver Creek Falls (Or A "Sign" Of Things To Come)
It has been written on other threads that the theming of Wilderness Lodge is changing somewhat with the upcoming DVC additions. One of those changes is that Silver Creek Falls, the main water feature at the resort, will be renamed Copper Creek Falls. That change made my family sad, as we have a history with Silver Creek Falls, as I'll explain below.
You see, both my wife and I are from a small town in western New York called Silver Creek. And both of my parents grew up there too. So imagine our surprise when we made our first ever trip to Disney with our kids in 2001, during which we stayed at the WL, and stumbled upon this sign.

    Those 3 girls are 21, 19 and 17 now.
Six years later we had begun RVing and camped at the Fort with my parents. We took the boat over to the Fort to show my parents the sign, and continued what has become a tradition to get family pictures in front of the sign on every trip to Disney.

Fast forward....most recently, INC and I got a picture in front of the sign while on a date. We also stayed at the Lodge before our cruise on the Wonder this year.

And on our trip to the Fort a few weeks ago, I got one last picture in front of the sign of my parents, who spent part of the week with us. My Dad turns 80 next month.

I figured that might be the end of the story, as the retheming of the Lodge is proceeding at a rapid pace and will be completed before we return to WDW.
But that's not the end of the story.
Wondering what would become of the sign, I contacted the GM of the Wilderness Lodge to tell her about my family's history with the sign and our love of both the Lodge and the Fort. We traded some emails, and she assured me that she would try to find out what would be done with the sign as construction continues. I last heard from her a few weeks ago, and had not received an update since.
    Until today.
A large box arrived at our home today. So I opened it.

    Mabel is curious too.

Can you believe it? I was blown away. Also included in the package was a beautiful print of Silver Creek Falls, a WL magnet, and a very nice note.
I've heard of pixie dust but this is something else.
Do you now understand why I hate Disney so much? [emoji1]

There was another link around here. I went and it was cute. They did limit the number of people that were inside the experience which was good, but the lines to see the cars and the preview were still about 30 mins long. They had some cute free stuff there, like Oral B was giving away free gifts. (Tooth brush, tooth paste, tattoos), Alamo gave away free coloring pencils as the kids colored a mural. And the Dole giving away recipes. That was the majority. Here are a few pics from it.

DisneyVampire reacted to Tri-Circle-D in Fort Wilderness Food Truck?
I've been wanting to try one of the Food Truck classic cheeseburgers, and finally got a chance to do so this past Saturday night.
By the way, they already have a new menu item, which is advertised on the little sign posted on the counter:

    A closer look:

So, $5.99 (plus tax) for a plain old hot dog.  $9.18 (plus tax) if you want fries with that.  That's $3.19 for an order of fries.  It also makes me wonder if you can order the other meals without fries if you want to save a few bucks.
Also, those two photos answer another question asked in this thread.  As you can see, there's a MagicBand reader sitting there on the counter. I saw a guest use it to pay, and I also saw a guest use a regular credit card.
    Here's my classic cheeseburger:

    Here's the meat:

As stated by others who have tried it, this is not a standard quick serve hockey puck hamburger.  It was a nice, juicy, burger.  No complaints.  It was actually very good.  Maybe on the same level as Deluxe Burger at Disney Springs, and a lot cheaper.  I think the fries are the same fries they serve at Casey's in the MK- thinner than the typical Disney quick serve fries.
I give the Food Truck cheeseburger a big thumb's up.
They have a few picnic tables set off to the side, which is nice.  They could use a few more.
I am not sure whose truck was parked over by the Bike Barn, but there it is:

Here's some of those picnic tables I mentioned:

Even though Daylight Savings Time started a couple of weeks ago, they have not adjusted the campfire start time, and the fires were still lit at 6:30.  The crowds showed up early:

We arrived just before 6:30, and were lucky to not have to wait in a line at the Food Truck.  The line got long quick:

We came in through the 1400 loop, and I noticed that there was an old Plymouth parked on the comfort station sidewalk.  You can see it here:

I'm pretty sure that car belongs to Cowboy John, who was singing at the campfire tonight.  I think Cowboy John needs to park his junk heap somewhere else.  No offense.
Here's Cowboy John.  I don't know how long he's been around, but I have never seen him perform.  He told a lot of corny jokes in between his singing.  He did mix things up with his play list.  One of the highlights was when he asked for requests, and someone yelled out Skynyrd!  Cowboy John actually played a few bars of Sweet Home Alabama before he stopped and joked that he didn't know any Skynyrd.  The Alabama folks in the audience loved that:

Also note the new aluminum benches.
There was quite a crowd here tonight:

The sun was just getting low in the sky at 7:07 pm:

Cowboy John did play some classics, like the Hokie Pokie:

Dale was up there dancing, but Chip was still being mobbed:

Even though it was quite light out, they started the movie at around 7:40 pm.  The movie tonight was Zootopia, but you really couldn't see it:

We bounced out of there right after the movie started.  We wanted to check out Wishes and the EWP from Geyser Point.
That old Plymouth was gone when we walked by the 1400 loop comfort station.
So there you go.  It was either Chip and Dale's or Cowboy John's.

DisneyVampire got a reaction from Avatab.... Steve in New Mobile Order service to offer on-the-go meal ordering at select locations
A new mobile food ordering service, called Mobile Order, will launch with the opening of Satu’li Canteen in Pandora – The World of Avatar at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and extend to select additional fast casual and quick service restaurant locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort over the next year. Mobile Order offers Guests the added convenience of being able to place orders and purchase meals on-the-go within the My Disney Experience app, allowing them to avoid the line to order and pay when they arrive at the restaurant.
Using the My Disney Experience app, Guests can select menu items, customize their order and pre-pay for their meal. When they arrive at the restaurant they will tap an “I’m here” button in the app, which will notify the kitchen to prepare the meal. When ready, Guests will be alerted through the app to pick up their meal at a designated window.
During the initial launch period, the only form of payment accepted is credit card and no discounts or dining plans will be able to be applied to orders submitted through Mobile Order. Guests requesting to use a discount, dining plan entitlement or have special dietary requests should place their order with a cashier.

I saw one of those futuristic looking golf carts/city cars towing a similar looking trailer.  The cart had 3 rows of seats and the trailer had another 3.  The thing was longer than my truck, and it went flying down the path next to the tennis courts heading to the campfire program.

If the F&F cars were at Citywalk I might've made a trip.  The picture of the car is impressive, but I'm not going to drop a couple hundred $$$ to see a car.
