  1. Long time since I’ve been here also. Have similar mobility issues now. Can you tell me a little about your motorized wheelchair? I’m looking for one and want one that would be good for the Fort and theme parks.
  2. Nacole suggest you contact Mostly Mutts in Kennesaw. Please don’t call doggy jail because that really means doggy death row. We have adopted two dogs and it’s a wonderful organization. Constantly taking in sic ups and getting them healthy. and BTW it’s not dogs that are stupid it is dog owners that are stupid
  3. Thanks for sharing. Would love to get up that way someday
  4. I know this is an old post but is there any updates? Sounds like this could be exactly what I’m looking for
  5. Thanks I just found this and will definitely get mine since I’m on SSDI
  6. Congratulations. We are eager to return to camping. With my health though I’m going to need some lazy amenities like power jacks, awning, wide stair-step, and under 5k moderately loaded. No pup-ups or hybrids. Maybe a small class C or potentially a class A if not too big
  7. Thanks for the great report. Your family is at that age where it is so bittersweet going home. You never no when you will be back. For many years I had the next trip booked before we left which made leaving easier Now I wait to take my grandkids (as soon as I get some 😎)
  8. Sorry Lou I never tire seeing the EWP. It is one of the oldest things that hasn’t changed. I pray it lasts at least till my future grandkids are old enough to watch and remember it. First saw it in 1992 and all my kids love it.
  9. Are there any specials for the cabins in the fall. Thinking about another 3 day weekend trip now that Trails End is open again. Still hoping Hoop De Doo will reopen soon.
  10. I don’t understand no fried chicken. They had it on their “to go” menu because we had it one night while we were staying in the cabin. It was as good as ever. The argument about supplying hoop de do doesn’t pan out either because they were able to do the take out only. I’m thinking it may just be an omission or they want to focus on the rotisserie (read healthier).
  11. Trip reports have pretty scarce lately so I’m in and looking forward to your story
  12. It may have been but sure looked like a moose to me from the shape of the antlers. I can’t honestly say I know the species that well
  13. We saw moose in the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. It was on the east side of mountain. Surprised the heck out of me and DW
  14. We went to Buc Ees this week. Wow what a store/experience. We were very limited on time so will need to go back another time to really check it out.
  15. Thanks TCD for the update: I made my last trip to Disney in January and will likely not be back for the foreseeable future. As I said to DW heading out that day, I’ve got Disney out of my system. My money will be going to Universal, Sea World/BG and Dollywood from now on. Heck I think my local 6 Flags park treats me better, As for Fort Fiends I really miss the old days but realize time moves on. We sold our trailer several years ago, kiids have grown up, and haven’t visited a Disney park in 3 years (only Fort Wilderness because of excellent cabin discounts during pandemic) so I have
  16. All loops were open this past weekend. Most were full
  17. Good to hear from you Andrew. We are going for a quick weekend first weekend in October. Matt lives in Orlando and has annual passes and we are taking advantage of his cabin discount.
  18. Thanks for quick reply. Is the yellow bus the one that services the cabin loops?
  19. I’m thinking this is a no, but would like to go to Geyser Point Bar & Grille. This will be our first s the stay in years. We will be in the cabins for the first time. I’m wheelchair bound these days so was kinda hoping that we could still get there by golf cart. Rather than trying to boat, bus, or drive
  20. I don't know about Knoxville but It looks pretty interesting. I would avoid Atlanta this weekend as the weather forecast is awful. Also, Six Flags is debuting a new coaster tomorrow that will probably have the park packed if the weather is even somewhat descent.
  21. As a former Cougar owner 301BHS 2006 model, overall we were satisfied with fit, finish, and design. However, all of my decals started peeling about 3-4 years into ownership, This was very disappointing and shouldn't have happened. By the time I sold it two years ago, it looked awful and probably cost me more that $2,000 in additional depreciation. Keystone would not address what was a factory defect (take a look around and you'll see lots of Cougars/Keystones with peeling decals). I did find a keystone owners site to compare notes and it is a great resource. http://www.keystoneforums.c
  22. Or more likely when they quite servicing the Fort and only set up at Wilderness Lodge. Why waste money on an expensive sign. They are not even opening the truck at the Meadow Pool when they say they are.
  23. I agree with you. I don't have a really big issue with someone visiting the campfire. I actually thought it was a nice story and on the one hand it shows that you can enjoy some magic without spending a fortune. I posted the excerpt mainly for the purpose of showing another example of locals using FW.
  24. Article in today's AllEars Weekly Newsletter where a reader writes in and mentions coming to FW campfire every year for daughter's birthday. The one sentence in red below stuck out. Robin Tater: Every year we head to Fort Wilderness to the campfire singalong to celebrate our daughter's birthday. As we were getting on the bus to head home I mentioned to our bus driver Cody that it was Katelyn's birthday. I figured he would push the button that automatically wished her a happy birthday. He did and had everyone wish her a happy birthday as well. She leaned over to me to tell me that it made
