  1. Our dogs like the Disney cartoons as well. We usually stay at the motorhome during the day and hit the parks about 3 to 4 in the afternoon and stay until closing. They have always done well. Ours dogs never see anyone other than us because we live in the country, so Disney is a rude awakening for them. They love Disney!!
  2. For the really popular times of the year, you definitely need to book that far out.
  3. We will be at The Fort for Halloween too. It will be our first time for Halloween. Our grandkids, daughter, and maybe son in law will be with us. Our grandson turns 6 on Halloween and the other ones will be 6, 4, and 5 months.
  4. We have reservations. Check in Oct 21 and check out Nov 3. We will have our daughter, maybe son in law, and 4 grandkids. Our grandson will turn 6 on Halloween, so he is really excited about trick or treating at The Fort.
  5. Thanks for sharing. My parents took us opening year and a few other times and I honeymooned there. It was nice when thee were less crowds and you could really enjoy the magic of Disney.
  6. Our problem is that Verizon is the only carrier that we can get reception with at our house.
  7. Need that in Maryland. Why can't they just do things nationwide???
  8. Have a great trip. We did a kid free/grandkid free trip a few years ago. Had a great time, but missed the grandkids as well. Also, the grandkids were not very happy with us!!!
  9. You will still have a great time in Disney in August. For many years that was the only time we were able to go. Our youngest was a year round swimmer and only had one week off a year and that was in August. So, that is when we went. Now we have grandchildren and go in August because of school schedules. You do what you do for your kids and grandkids. Have fun!!!
  10. We are in Maryland and I don't think Florida is any worse than Maryland. We have been to The Fort many, many times in August. In fact we were there last year with our 3 grandkids, the oldest is 6 and the youngest is 3. Here's my tip, enjoy The Fort during the day, swim, etc. We usually hit the parks about 4 and close them down. That has always worked for us. Just relax and enjoy yourselfs.
  11. I prefer the 1700 loop. The set of full hook up loops, 1600 to 1900, are about equal distance from the outpost and the marina. Also, you are walking distance from the pool. We usually travel with 3 of our grandchildren. They are 6, 4, and 3. Have a great time!!!!
  12. We were considering Dollywood this summer, but didn't know if it was very kid friendly. I looked at the height requirements and it doesn't look like there are alot of rides for kids. Also, our grandson doesn't like thrill rides of any kind. He is definitely tall enough, but getting him on Goofy roller coaster is a stretch. The youngest granddaughter is just 40 inches. To top it off, I asked them where they wanted to go on vacation and their response was Disney. I asked them what their 2nd choice was if we can't go to Disney and they said a Disney cruise. I guess they are being raise
  13. I agree with you on most of the facebook sites. They either want happily ever after or lots of drama and negativity. Here you get lots of information with a mix of humor.
  14. It's about time they got new Fort merchandise. Now I will have to budget more money!!!
  15. Thanks for the information. I will compare that price with the price at Shades of Green. We usually get the 10 day pass and not the park hopper. We will be going at Christmas 2018 and might need to do the park hopper then.
  16. Glad to see that Disney took care of you guys by setting you up in a suite. We were wondering how they were going to handle things. When we were there we had a party of 6 and that definitely won't fit in a standard room.
  17. I love all of the additional holiday entertainment. Hopefully they will be doing the same or additional when we are there for Christmas 2018. We will be there from Dec 16 to December 30.
  18. I agree with what you said and I don't know what the best way to fix the problem is. Disney used to be the standard that all businesses would follow. I don't see that happening anymore. You can't continue to cut staff and services and raise prices. Eventually it will catch up with you. However, we usually travel with our young grandchildren, 6, 4, and 3. They look at things totally different. When we were driving the youngest was shaking because she was so excited to go to Disney. As soon as we saw the signs, all 3 of them started screaming. They just love Disney. When we got to
  19. That's the store. I would go to Disney Springs just to go to that store. Disney made a great decision with adding the store.
  20. We went to Disney Springs during the day and it wasn't crowded. There is a new store that is similar to H and M. I don't remember the name of it, but it was very reasonable. Lots of cool Disney merchandise. It's definitely a store worth going to in my opinion. The grandkids got Disney shirts for $5 and they aren't the typical Disney shirts. I agree that they need a map and a more centrally located bus stop. However, since they just changed the bus stops, I'm sure that isn't going to happen. They had a sign posted for a Descendants dance party, but times. There was a manager of sorts s
  21. I agree, it is much more stressful to raise kids today. We need to get back to the way things used to be. To start off with, let them have fun in school and remove a lot of the stress. My granddaughter is in 1st grade and doesn't like going to school.
  22. The area was well taped off with cast members standing with their light sticks. The cast members in the area weren't young and inexperienced, they were more mature and were trying their best. We were standing in the taped off area, but many didn't seem to care. Here's a basic fact of life, follow the rules!!! According to the news, attendance is down. When were there it was very crowded, including the fort. The only park that had lesser attendance was Hollywood Studios, but that was to be expected.
  23. We just paid 138 to 153 a night for December 16 to December 330, 2018 for a full hook up site. We will have 6 or 7 people with us. There will be 3 children and 3 or 4 adults. My grandkids love the magic of Disney. We just came home from 2 weeks at Disneyworld and noticed an increased rudeness of guests. I'm not talking about foreigners that many people complain about. These were blue blooded Americans, so to speak. We were watching the fireworks at MK and people kept plowing through us. The cast members were doing their best, but people were just rude. We were standing with a couple
