My dog has been practicing that spaghetti scene solo for several years now. Too bad they didn't discover him for this. We could be rich.

That would be my thought!  'cause I'm not waiting in a 10 hour line for anything unless they're giving away loaded armored cars at the end.

So if the park is at capacity and most of those people are in the 10 hour wait line, how much wait for the rest of the rides.  Would that be the time to go if you wanted to do everything else? 😃

Seals got a reaction from Tri-Circle-D in Ralph Breaks the Internet
Continuing our family tradition of seeing the latest Disney movie on Thanksgiving (and I am thankful my pretty much grown children are still enthusiastic about continuing this tradition) we went to see Ralph Breaks the Internet.  And really liked it. It's about 15 minutes too long IMHO but lots of laughs about online sites and video games. A lot of humorous things worked into the background, signs, etc. And a good bit of funny Disney stuff, especially for Kristen Bell and others complaining about Disney princesses.  Interestingly our family and the 60 something aged couples in front of us were laughing more than the families with children around us.  I think one child was still traumatized by a scene in the Dumbo preview that set him/her screaming before being removed from the theater by the parent for a while.  Also saw two preview for Toy Story 4, one quite funny with comments about the decision to make Toy Story 4.  If you see Ralph make sure to stay through the excruciatingly long credits because there's a preview you won't want to miss.

See this is where I just wonder about me. I know a lot of people will do this and increase Disney's $$$. But I'm just thinking (based on when my children were young enough to do these attractions -- and Small World, Little Mermaid, Tea Party -- are these high demand anyway?) you're getting the kids up extra early to get there by 7:45 at the latest so they're cranky, they either eat breakfast before so they're cranky from having to get up even earlier or you wait for breakfast until after 9 and they're extra cranky from hunger. Therefore I'm super cranky having to deal with them.  I might as well take $79/$69 x # in the family and throw it in the lagoon.  But, the rest of y'all enjoy! (in general, not FF specifically)

Ours wasn't treacherous, just funny.  It was a few years ago and we were using our gps. We were in New Orleans and trying to get to Chalmette Battlefield National Park. We'd gone the wrong way because of traffic or something and were having our usual arguments about directions, whose fault it was, the boys were of course bored and wanted to get out of the car, etc. Finally the gps said the park was only a mile or so away.  We followed the turns and came to the Mississippi River and a sign for a ferry!  The park was on the other side. And so was the ferry at that point.
The gps had names for the voices and the one we used was called Michelle and one of my sons had nicknamed "her" Shelly.   So we had a lot to say to Shelly about that one. Although it was sort of cool to cross the river that way.

Yup, totally agree. We took our kids on many road trips starting when they were very young. We visited most of the major cities on the east coast and went to Canada twice, including an adventure to Niagara Falls, Toronto and Cedar Point last summer. This summer I felt I had to give my now college student the option of going with us on a road trip to a wedding  and he chose not to (although I'm not proud to say I'm now trying to guilt him into it).  As for them remembering. every so often I pull out a photo album and show my kids a trip we took when they were younger and they actually enjoy seeing the photos and hearing my stories (if they are brief) as long as they are in the photos and the stories are about them.
Enjoyed your trip so much. The photos are stunning. I can only imagine the real views were even moreso.

I keep thinking I might do a trip report, but with no time and no photo posting service, I'm not sure that's ever going to happen. But my husband and I took a Spring Break trip and visited several "other Florida attractions" in early April.   I was going to call my trip report  "Dolphins and Mermaids and Florida History, Oh My."   We visited the following places:
    Weeki Wachee State Park
Indian Rocks Beach to see the sunset (2x)
Clearwater Marine Aquarium + Dolphin Adventure Tour
beach town driving tour from Clearwater Beach to Pass-A-Grille Beach
    Ringling Museum in Sarasota
DeSoto National Memorial in Bradenton (it was closed since after 5 pm but could still visit the grounds)
    SS American Victory, Tampa
Henry B. Plant Museum at University of Tampa
    Ybor City Historic District, Tampa
I enjoyed and would recommend all of them, especially if one is interested in dolphins, mermaids, beach towns and Florida history.

One year when my 3 boys were in the 9 - 11 ish range and didn't have smartphones yet, we went during Spring Break. Life had been hectic before our trip and while we were standing in lines I found out all sorts of things that had been going on at school and their other activities. Funny stories about teachers and classmates, what they were learning, they talked to each other about mutual friends, etc. etc. It was such a nice added bonus to spend that time together that I still remember it most about the trip.

Cup of water. Pound of frozen ground beef on the trivet. 20 minutes then quick release. Ground beef for tacos, spaghetti sauce, whatever. I usually end up needing to pick up someone from rehearsal or practice when I'm in the middle of cooking ground beef in the skillet so this is a perfect solution for me.

Years ago we went last week in August (stayed in Pop Century not the Fort) and the heat and humidity was offset by the fact that it wasn't very crowded. That may not be the case anymore.  Also hopefully they still have the policy of you can ask for free cups of ice water at any refreshment place. We did that a good bit.

That does sound interesting. It has good reviews on Amazon too. I'll have to see if my library has it. Sort of like a Hidden Figures for Disney animation.

I find the 3 day minimum interesting, and so Disney.  It seems this would be more of an advantage for people who weren't going to already spend 3 days in the parks but it's not offered to them. With a little forethought and some line standing, at most times of the year, couldn't you already do all those attractions you can get an extra FP for.  But then I guess this isn't marketed to people like me who would just plan and stand instead of spend.
