  1. Disney doesn't have to follow relaxed guidelines. We have a county just N of Tampa that did away with the county ordinance about wearing masks last week. I noticed a couple independent stores took down their signs, but Lowes, Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart etc still enforce mask wearing.
  2. When I joined the group almost 8 years ago, there were so many different topics and posts on here all the time, that it was hard keeping up with all of them. Over the last couple of years I've seen the amount of posts dwindling, to the point that sometimes it's a day or more before a post is replied to or a new one started. Has everyone gotten so busy that they don't have time to post? Or have people become afraid to voice their opinions or to post anything because someone might take offense or disagree with them? This used to be the go to place for Fort information and eve
  3. ORLANDO (WFLA) — Walt Disney World has updated their website to say guests can begin taking outdoor pictures at their parks without having to wear a face covering. Walt Disney World has had one of the most strict mask policies among private businesses in Florida since reopening last year during the pandemic. Guests aren’t even allowed to enter the park or walk around if their mask is below their nose. Exceptions to Disney’s mask rule have been if guests were swimming or dining. Now, the park is going to allow its guests to temporarily remove their masks to take an outdoor photo, but
  4. Most of the loops are fairly close to the small pool. You can google the Fort map and see the loop numbers. If you want the least amount of walking, then get the lowest or the highest # cabin in each loop, they are usually but not always nearest the entrance to the loop.
  5. They can always use more stroller wranglers/hiders!
  6. YUP! Just wait until they go back to the ticket books! We're at the point that we don't do many rides, just walk around and do a few shows. Would be thrilled to be able to have a cheap admission ticket just to walk around
  7. I think the park reservations are going to be here for a long time if not permanently. I had posted that idea a while ago even before Covid, as a method Disney would use keep the crowds manageable along with yearly price increases. Lot less expensive then expanding the parks or adding new ones. WDW has been bursting at the seams for the past few years pre Covid.
  8. The bean counters would probably have them use the Pillsbury ones in a can!
  9. We visited a Buc-ees when we were in Texas. Agree with everything previously posted. The closest thing in the rest of the country would be a Wa Wa, but Buc-ees is about 10 to 20 times larger and sells just about everything under the sun! It's hard to see from one end of the store to the other. You will get your daily steps in !
  10. Something Seaworld/Busch Gardens has been doing for 2 years.... We announced this morning that new facial recognition technology was being tested for park entry at the Magic Kingdom. The facial recognition test is now active again and we got to check it out for ourselves! The process is extremely efficient and seems like it might go a long way to help eliminate long lines to enter the park. Large signs make it clear that this lane is specifically for guests wanting to participate in the test. It is completely optional. Guests must keep their masks on, however they ar
  11. The woman that posted it and someone else that replied both gave it glowing reviews. The OP did say that it didn't work on her husband until he rubbed it it. She thinks it didn't penetrate past his hairy arms and legs. I'm hoping it works on those nasty biting 3 cornered/green flies that hang out at the Fort. They were terrible there one year. My daughter had a welt on her foot for over a month from a bite.
  12. Someone on a FL camping site posted that this stuff, said it works great for no see ums, biting flies, mosquitos. No Mosquitoz or No Natz. Both work on everything just different formulas, and both all natural. Available on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/MOSQUITOZ-Repellant-Hand-Crafted-Hypoallergenic-Non-Greasy/dp/B082DNCHBP some Wal-Marts or their webpage nonatz.com We had used Repel natural lemongrass and Cutter Skinsations on a recent camping trip against no see ums. Both work OK, but I just ordered the no mosquitoz to give it a try.
  13. The gravel sure keeps the tents, campers, and screen rooms cleaner!
  14. 77 miles for us across the oh so fun I-4! We're checking dates, you may hear from us.

    May trip

Should be decent with warm to hot weather. It's before the official rainy season. Humidity shouldn't be too bad. It's after Spring Break but before most southern schools are out for summer. And a lot of the various school team sports groups are not going to be at Wide World of Sports Complex, so they may not be at DW that much either.

  17. Disney is still taking the mask wearing, temp checks, and other rules seriously. They have posted new larger signs at DS showing what type of masks are and are not acceptable. I'm sure it's twofold, one to protect the guests, and probably the bigger reason to protect them from liability/lawsuits. One of the main things that have been implemented all over Walt Disney World Resort property is temperature checks. At the entrance of Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs, all Guests must undergo a temperature check to ensure that
  18. But if you're a real Disnerd, you will have to be there 10/1/2021!
  19. I would say to anyone, if you are not local and a passholder a trip to DW now is a waste of time and $$$$$. You are still paying a premium price for a less than stellar experience. We are local (about an hour away) passholders. We don't really eat that much at the parks. If we go now and there isn't a long wait we go on a ride since we've been on everything (except ROR and Smugglers Run) numerous times. We try to go when it's not crowded. But again we are local. If this was a major, once in a couple year trip, I would save your $$$ and stay away.
  20. Not that big, we’ve done a T@B, tent, Clam type screen room, awning, and two cars on a partial site! You’ll just need someone with a good eye for decorating to squeeze everything in.😀
  21. As we all sit and wait for an opening date for the Harmonious nighttime spectacular, Disney is selling corporate packages that include a private reception and viewing of Harmonious. While Disney has not officially announced an opening date for the new nighttime show yet, it’s clear that they are at least advertising it as being open for the 2021 Taste of EPCOT Food and Wine Festival to corporate partners. Work continues to take place on World Showcase Lagoon to install the four perimeter barges and massive centerpiece barge to support the show. “Harmonious” will bring to World S
