  1. If you could squeeze them into a Priority Flat Rate Box with the Post Office it would be fairly inexpensive. This is from the Postal History blog. On February 19, 1914, May Pierstorff, just short of her 6th birthday, was “mailed” from her parents’ home in Grangeville, Idaho to her grandparents’ house about 73 miles away for just 53-cents worth of stamps. May’s parents were taking advantage of parcel post service, which began just the year before. In the early years of this service, customers and postal officials were still getting used to how the service could be used. But mailing children
  2. :) Good advice in life in general, but I think some people forget that CMs are people and not Disney-trained robots. Just because you "paid so much money" to be there, doesn't entitle you to treat people badly and demand/expect to get whatever you want. ============================================================================================================ Unfortunately some people treat everyone in the service industry like garbage, Whether it's a counter person at McDonalds, the checkout person at the grocery store, the Geek Squad Agent at Best Buy, or the CM at WDW. I worked
  3. If you gate check them at the end of the ramp (pink tag) they will put them in the baggage hold for you during the flight and have them waiting for you when you deplane!
  4. ad showed a tumbler, snow globe, figure, tombstone, looked like a stuffed head, and a 6 foot tall figure!
  5. The biggest thing is to take something along that they can chew or suck on while the plane is climbing so they can equalize the pressure in their ears. Would be a good time to give them a bottle or if they can handle it gummy bears. Most people will tolerate a young child if they are a little fussy and the parents are attempting to calm them down, since the majority have probably flown with their own kids at one time or another. What they don't like are the parents that are oblivious to the kid being rotten, younger ones just wailing away, older ones kicking seats, yelling, running up and
  6. That's what gets me, having to gnaw around all of the tendons and getting covered in grease and juice, then walking around and going on rides. No amount of wet ones will get you cleaned up! At least at Thanksgiving you can plop one on your plate and cut the meat off.
  7. Lot of $$$ to spend on something that most people ignore on Thasnksgiving. $12 is a lot, but even the raw ones are expensive in the stores. My wife bought some so I could smoke them, but for the price of 2 legs, I could've bought 2 whole chickens. Tell her Thanksgiving is just around the corner and she's welcome to have both of them off the turkey! $12 could get you an entire turkey.
  8. Most people don't seem to think it would be a good idea either, so that's why they will probably build it. I'm sure if the bean counters say that they can turn a profit, it'll be do able somewhere and somehow.
  9. For years we have stayed at the cabins, we switched to tents last fall and now a pop-up. We always had 6 + people in them. At some points we had 12 over for supper and hanging out. Works out better with that many if the weather co-operates and you can use the picnic table on the deck and the dining room table inside. It can be cramped with 6 but do-able. The biggest issue is the one bathroom, but if everyone checks on the need of potty breaks before tying it up showering you should be ok. The kitchen is a blessing, and a huge $$$$ saver. It's nice to be able to leave a mess in every
  10. I agree, $5 was a fair price for the short ride, especially when you had to walk with them. Makes it harder to take pictures while holding the reins. The wagon ride is the best bargain over there. We took our then 7 and 3 year old granddaughters on it around Christmas a while back. It was the 4 of us and one other couple. We had a blast. Got to see a lot of decorations. It's plenty big, so a fidgety 2 year old should have enough wiggle room. The last couple of times we tried to go on it were either rained out or sold out. You do need to get there early to get tickets. On the plus si
  11. They're executives, THEY don't need magic bands. They have people for that!
  12. This weeks ad features Jack Skellington items at 25% off, and also some other Disney themed decorations on sale.
  13. What about building the QS in the grassy area between the pool/swingset and the canal. That area where they occasionaly play games by the back path to the meadow? It sits empty the majority of the time.
  14. Video posted today on the I love Disney camping FB page of a truckload of Maelstrom Viking ships heading eastbound on 528 the Beachline
  15. To me, it looks like they are trying to discourge the "casual" visitors. You know, those happy go lucky, spur of the moment people that just decide to go somewhere and have fun. Whether it's Disney, Busch Gardens, the beach or the mountains. They are looking for the PLANNERS! The people that book everything 6 months in advance. They have times and places figured out to the second.... no Jody, we don't have a potty break scheduled for another 3 hours. If everyone PLANS, then Disney can PLAN employees schedules better and know how many overpriced hamburgers to order. I know for some of
  16. We've always booked our own reservations, but about 2 trips ago we got nowhere trying to book a weekend. Jason did his magic and got us a site the weekend we needed. Like he said, he can't promise anything except great service and trying to get you what you need.
  17. http://www.campingroadtrip.com/campgrounds/state/florida/city/kennedy%20space%20center/showresults/true This shows sites withing 25 miles of Kennedy Space Center. I haven't been to any of them, just supplying the link so you can be more confused! :-)
  18. Yep, kids and especially grandkids change the way you look at things. With kids, things changed from when your were growing up, but not drastically. Some of the same shows were still on tv.... probably as re-runs, the schools were still using a lot of the same books as reading assignments, a lot of the same toys were still around. Now with grandkids, things are changing so rapidly day to day that everything to us is new again! All in all, I thought it was a pretty good article, not too overly gushing like some of the blogs.
  19. Just got an email from Disneystore.com. They have new HM merchandise including 2 limited edittion T-Shirts only available until 10/12.
  20. We went in July after about a 20 + year hiatus. Took the grandkids, and all of my kids went also... it was a group of 12. We had a great time, I was thankful it hadn't changed (except for the $$$$). I would love to go again, but they have just made it too pricey.
  21. Article in today's Tampa Bay Times When I was 8, my father inadvertently whipped me in the eyeball with a red-and-white cloth napkin. It was a stinger for sure. The physical pain, however, was outweighed by the emotional shock of where this eye-gouging happened: Walt Disney World, specifically the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, an all-you-can-eat, all-you-can-sing hootenanny chock-full of corn pone humor in the resort's Fort Wilderness campground. Bad things just weren't supposed to happen here. Unaware of my pain, my dad, along with my mom and a few hundred other revelers, continued twirling tho
  22. Ahh, but they stated on the box that it was less, you just didn't pay attention. Tuna companies have been doing that for years, keeping the cans that same size but reducing the amount of tuna in the can.
