Travisma got a reaction from jlf in Trails End going to "Quick Serve" style. No more table service.
We did the Mothers Day Brunch in 2022 at Trails End (we were not staying at the Fort).  We had a great time and the food was good.  But like others have said family style is not a buffet. I have a feeling they are going to turn it into a place like Wilderness Lodges Roaring Fork.  Definitely not a special place.  Getting tired of getting less for more $ everyplace we go, and tons of places are doing it besides Disney.

Travisma got a reaction from djsamuel in Electric Bikes banned at the FORT
Like a lot of things at Disney, they themselves are some of the biggest rule breakers by looking the other way. If someone is breaking the rules using a Disney cart, Disney should impound the cart and they should forfeit their entire payment.  Same thing for other rule breakers, impound the devices until check out.

I think that is in reference to ADA type Mobility scooters. There are now some out that have 2 seats.

Unforunately, this is another example of a few spoiling it for many.  We spent four weeks at the Fort from early December to early January.  There were quite a few people; many of them too young for a drivers license, who were riding around in what would be better described as electric motorcycles.  The had wide tires, a motorcycle like frame, useless pedals, and were FAST.  They also had loud radios and many were being driven very recklessly.  The Fort Rangers were trying there best to pull them over and keep them under control.  I have to admit, those electric sooters weren't slow either.  My wife and I both said that someone was going to get hurt.  I wonder if something finally happened.

Travisma got a reaction from MicknMin...Holly in Clementine Beach being restored?
We just came back from the Fort on 8/30.  The beach area is restored and lounge chairs are back in the sand and tables and chairs on the deck. One thing we noticed is that we could barely hear the talking/music from the show.  Seemed like the only speakers were back by the main path.

Chapek has stated that he doesn’t like APs because they don’t spend enough $$$.  They want fewer people willing to spend a boatload of $$$ during their stay.
I fully understand they are a money making business, but they are going to make it too costly for Joe and Jane Average to afford to go to the parks.

I think some of the TAs have a large amount of staff members that all start booking sites as soon as they open.

So they do scoop up a bunch of reservations as soon as they can.

I'm sure if Jason can get that lazy cat of his trained to use a PC, he could book more sites...

Remember back in the good old days where we had real news reports where the anchors reported the news, didn't do happy talk or interject their opinions.
    Huntley/Brinkley, Walter Cronkite, Gabe Pressman.
Now we have "news" shows that are like the View/Today show.  Very little substantial news, lots of happy crap that would in the past be only printed in a neighborhood news letter.
Things are confusing because everyone puts their own spins on everything and we have more talking head "experts" than stars in the sky.
With FB and other social media anyone can spout whatever they feel like and hordes of people believe them without any evidence backing them.
And everything is reported instantly.  If the CDC says something, it's known worldwide in minutes, and if they made an error or want to backtrack the genie is out of the bottle.
Has there been a lot of conflicting info from the CDC and other experts?  Heck yeah.
But they are just trying to appease the masses that want an immediate solution.
This is still a very fluid situation and experts are learning more about COVID daily, so there are bound to be contradictions from previous reports.
But this is just the way we live now......

My brother was in journalism his whole life and he always said, "There are no more journalist, only copy writers, nobody researches the story".

Some counties have lifted bans, but the larger companies have not stopped requiring masks in those counties, WalMart, Costco, Lowe’s, etc.

Like I said in the initial post, there used to be posts about the Fort, Disney, the evil Universal, food, characters, and ones that went off the track so far you had to go back to the original OP to find out what everyone was talking about.
There was always something to read and reply to.
    I miss those days.

Disney doesn't have to follow relaxed guidelines.

We have a county just N of Tampa that did away with the county ordinance about wearing masks last week.
I noticed a couple independent stores took down their signs, but Lowes, Dollar Tree, Wal-Mart etc still enforce mask wearing.

Travisma got a reaction from fladogfan aka Gretchen in Disney World will let you take masks off for outside photos starting Thursday
ORLANDO (WFLA) — Walt Disney World has updated their website to say guests can begin taking outdoor pictures at their parks without having to wear a face covering.
Walt Disney World has had one of the most strict mask policies among private businesses in Florida since reopening last year during the pandemic. Guests aren’t even allowed to enter the park or walk around if their mask is below their nose.
Exceptions to Disney’s mask rule have been if guests were swimming or dining. Now, the park is going to allow its guests to temporarily remove their masks to take an outdoor photo, but they must be stationary and maintain appropriate physical distance.
The new policy goes into effect Thursday, April 8.

I would say to anyone, if you are not local and a passholder a trip to DW now is a waste of time and $$$$$.
You are still paying a premium price for a less than stellar experience.
We are local (about an hour away) passholders.
We don't really eat that much at the parks.
If we go now and there isn't a long wait we go on a ride since we've been on everything (except ROR and Smugglers Run) numerous times.
We try to go when it's not crowded.
    But again we are local.
If this was a major, once in a couple year trip, I would save your $$$ and stay away.
