  1. If you head downtown be sure and eat in Little Italy. Paesano's is our go to place to eat in the city. The food is very good and it's pretty inexpensive. Never had a bad meal there. You will see someone from each restaurant outside the establishments trying to hand you menus, just keep on moving until you hit Paesano's on Mullbery. Nice bottle of wine and your all set. Enjoy your trip! http://www.paesanosoflittleitaly.com/index.html You can shop for good designer knock off's while you're downtown, (an adventure in it'self, lol! but don't let my NYPD son know I told you, he kinda frowns u
  2. Was there four years ago Jersey week. Mind you, I had never even heard of Jersey week before that. I found out pretty quick what was going on. For me personally, I would not visit during that time period again. Not the best Disney experience we've had.
  3. Count me as one of those Carol. I'm a coffee drinker, (dark, no sugar), that being said,I don't care for Starbucks at all. Way to strong for me. Thanks to TCD, I enjoyed the report (as always), and we too enjoyed the Mermaid ride in the new Fantasyland. Really brought me back to when the movie came out on "video" and my then four year old daughter wanted to name her future sibling "Ariel". When she found out she was going to have a brother, she burst into tears and cried for two days!, The ride brings back great memories of the movie and simplier times. I like it. I also enjoyed your review
  4. :fairydust: Wishing you happy travels and good times at the Fort!
  5. Have fun!...and by the way, we had a great time on the cruise! :wave1: Thanks for all your help!
  6. Tikiman's site is reporting it's DVC going into the Poly..that's why the balloons were there. If true..and it likely is, the Poly better step up it's game. We were there for a couple of days prior to our cruise and were really disappointed. Room was not in great shape. AC was God awful. Was incredibly loud, and insult to injury..never cooled the darn room. Had to call mousekeeping back to clean our room, as it hadn't been vacuumed or dusted. When you can write your initials on the wood furniture..that's dusty! Turned out later that night the sink didn't drain. We were kind of disgusted, given
  7. We're back! :wave1: Loved the cruise! Had such a lovely, relaxing time. Cast-away Cay was beautiful. Really enjoyed that day. First we plopped ourselves in Serenity Bay. After a bike ride we decided it was just too quiet and remote. Hopped a tram back to the family beach, near the snorkeling. Loved lying on the beach and seeing the Ship. Not to mention the the BBQ, music and shopping! As for the Bahamas,, personally I wouldn't get off the boat again for that experience. Hmm..my husband said it reminded him of Manhattan, "pre-Gulianni". Times Square then was a cesspool. Nothing like the touris
  8. Let me ask this..we are sailing on the Magic. Are there any shows or entertainment on board that anyone would recommend?
  9. Thanks Cherie! :doodebug: I'm glad to see we're not alone in our thinking. :fork: We were able to secure a reservation for Palo brunch for our "at sea day"..which I believe is day three. I think it's around 11 am. Looking forward to it! Figured we would enjoy the brunch, and we wouldn't miss out on any of the dinner dining rotations. Oh..and I also reserved a couple of bikes for the Castaway Cay day. :wave1:
  10. LOL! I'm laughing because I think you read our minds! :rofl3: After reseraching and mulling over a half dozen opotions, I just last night, said to Bob "would you mind if we didn't have anything planned for Nassau?" With a great sigh of relief he replied "I'd actually prefer it!" :highfive: You are so right TCD. It's a short cruise.(four night) It's our first, and we hope to explore the ship and take advantage of it being a little emptier. :waycool: So..there ya go. We are not gamblers, no real desire to go to the casino. Although tempted to see Atlantis, neither of us is feeling the slides. A
  11. Good to know. I figured we would want to make a few calls to the kids and work before we left port. I hope they are able to spot us! :wave1: Thanks. Then... three days without speaking to my kids...WOW...I don't think I've ever done that!
  12. Quick question..... While you're in port in fla, any issues using your cell phone when on ship that day..prior to sailing out?...Or should we shut them off even while in port. I've read some horror stories regarding charges.
  13. Two weeks from today! :wave1: (but who's counting?..lol!)
  14. We did this years ago when our kids were younger. We enjoyed it. I thought the character interaction was good too. They came out quite a few times and everyone had a chance to get their photos and autographs. By the end of the evening they just danced around with the crowd. It was a good time .I especially think it's a good option for those with younger kids who won't "sit" through an entire meal, as there is plenty of room for little ones to get up and move around. Looks like you all had fun! :wiz:
