  1. Here it is, and it's pretty darned snazzy! https://www.facebook.com/doctordisney/posts/4188357094521687
  2. Sounds familiar! I finally figured out that the bites on my feet were from walking the dogs out along the canal in just crocs, no socks. Started putting socks on and that helped a bit. It honestly looked like my feet had the chicken pox and they were the itchiest bites I've ever had in my life. Benadryl took the edge off a bit, but really didn't help much. And while mosquitos love me up here in NH, when I get bitten in FL I end up with nasty bumps that take weeks to go down. And then there's DH, who gets nary a bite anywhere. I tell him he's just not delicious.
  3. Same! And for whatever reason, FL bitey things affect me worse than here. I end up with welts and one trip my foot blew up so much I could barely get my shoe on.
  4. A bit of encouraging news... https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2021/03/09/news-disney-hopes-to-resume-the-college-program-in-2021/?fbclid=IwAR3Qh6RzkmvVRXwiJfBD-unc6nrpuJ1aORWWkyKrN-kUB65AcQTwXBdMuJg
  5. Agreed, it's really just awful. I've heard restaurant servers are experiencing a lot of this now too.
  6. This is one of our favorite (and more frequent) times to go.
  7. I know... but it's also our 25th anniversary and we ended up having to cancel our 20th trip, so we were really hoping to make this a two-fer. But hey, if we do end up putting it off a little longer, I'm going to have enough Chase Rewards points racked up to pay for a whole lotta Dole Whips!! In a normal year I would have driven down just for the day. (see: once drove 40 hours to be there for 24)
  8. We're in NH and right now are booked for a few weeks in November. Really hoping things are a lot more "normal" by then. As much as we love hanging out at the Fort, it's too far for us to go and too much for us to spend if so many things in the parks are still weird/closed. We had hoped to be there for the 50th, and it's our 25th anniversary to boot, but if things aren't more open by then we may shorten our time at WDW and maybe head to the coast or Keys for the rest.
  9. We've been in a couple that were long enough to fit 2 tents on the back pad, a 33' TT, a Ford Excursion AND a golf cart parked in front. And +1 on the 1900 loop.
  10. We will definitely need pics/videos of whatever you come up with. 🙂 Even with camping loops, the further away you are from the action, the less traffic they get. With the cabin loops being even further away, I'd have to think the same holds true. I don't have my map handy, but maybe shoot for the newest cabin loop and as close to the entrance of the loop as possible? If you decorate well to attract attention, you should get at least a little bit of traffic. Of course all pending what Halloween 2021 brings of course. Oh and welcome to Fort Fiends!!
  11. ... will be 18 months long! 🙂 I think we all figured they'd make it last as long as possible - see (Several Years) of a Million Dreams - but this is the first I recall seeing of a definitive timeframe for the celebration. Also, apparently the color scheme is... EARidescent. Oh the merchandise!! 💜 https://disneyparks.disney.go.com/blog/2021/02/the-worlds-most-magical-celebration-begins-oct-1-at-walt-disney-world-resort/?CMP=SOC-DPFY21Q2wo0218210008A&fbclid=IwAR1rtkNn6I4hZLmighGsiYxgjg2OeAgm3Zg2UwYeVJZgk9NrIoXh-r7JhDI
  12. Terrific news, Gwen!! Looking forward to hearing your wrap-up.
  13. Thanks for the updates, Mark. I hope Olivia have a terrific birthday!!
  14. As usual these days, I'm late to the party. Huge thanks to Jen and Chris for putting this fabulous little community together ... how is it 10 years already?!?! I'm so grateful for all the FrIENDS I've made here over the last decade and I hate to admit it, but, Lou too. 😎 We're gearing up for a Nor'easter here today, which makes it the perfect time to start dreaming about camping and Fiend gatherings. Here's to the next 10 years!!
  15. Wow, it's finally happening. We first heard about this years ago when we were dining at Johnnie's Hideaway in Crossroads - one of our favorite off-property spots. They told us that at some point they were going to have to move but didn't know when. Hopefully they're able to find a new location nearby.
  16. We are Team Wing It all the way. We kind of plan park days around what's open latest and isn't likely to be the most crowded, and mostly wander around. If something we want to ride has too long a wait, we skip it and come back another time. But that said, we're usually there for a few weeks at a whack and try not to go during super busy times, so it's not usually a problem getting out "must do" list knocked out. We will also snag FPs on the fly through the app. Again, got to be flexible, but if we're headed in a particular direction I'll check and it pans out more often than you m
  17. Roger that! LOL Hah! Quite possibly. Ok plan B - just wear clothes in the pool. All that chlorine ought to do the trick!
  18. I once packed for 8 nights at Disney in a carry-on. I'm pretty sure I can pull it off. What are the rules on washing out your clothes in the canals?
