  1. My wife made this for the Saturday night potluck last evening for the Gettysburg Grand Gathering, and folks were raving about it so I promised to post the recipe: 2 lb Velveeta cheese, cubed 2 lb ground beef, browned and drained 1 15-oz can corn, undrained 2 15-oz cans black beans, undrained 1 14-oz can DelMonte Chili-style tomatoes 1 can Ro*tel tomatoes 1 pkg dry taco seasoning Combine all ingredients in a a crock pot. Cover and cook on high 3 hours. Serve with chips or tortillas.
  2. While a Disney Cruise looks wonderful, if you shop around you will find other cruise lines are MUCH less expensive. We have cruised on Royal Caribbean three times, and we are going on a week long cruise this summer on RCL again. RCL has clubs for the kids and keep the kids VERY busy on board, letting the adults relax their own way. The food is wonderful, and you can eat ALL THE TIME. Be real careful with that. On RCL, iced tea/lemonade/fruit punch are free. Mixed drinks and sodas cost, and they will offer you a refillable mug when you arrive, so there is another expense to keep in mind..
  3. Throw away the flavor packet and any dehydrated veggies they come with. Cook the noodles as you normally would Mix together 1 tspn peanut butter, 1tsp honey, 1/2 tsp soy sauce and add Srirancha sauce to taste. Thai noodles in spicy peanut sauce!!!!
  4. Yeah, we are at the Fort right now and we may need to use him. Yesterday on the way here, while we were in Georgia, the generator stopped working. It will crank all day long, but it just won't turn over. It is acting like the fuel line or fuel filter may be clogged.
  5. Ohhhhhh, perfect. We head south for the Fort tomorrow, arriving on Thursday (8/4). As we head south toward Florida, TS Emily will be turning northwest toward Florida, and could be Hurricaine Emily by Saturday. Just perfect.
  6. There is something wrong here - I thought all Cajun recipes began with "First you make a roux..."
  7. Just might have to get myself an early Father's Day present:
  8. That is a nice chest. I have to ask - on the front, the raised panel second from the right with the larg knot along the edge - how did you get that done without the knot blowing out? Very nice work.
  9. http://www.orlandogasprices.com/Suncoast_Energys_Gas_Stations/Orlando_-_SE/60436/index.aspx Yep - this knucklehead is running over $5.50 per gallon in Orlando, just north of the airport. That being said, average in the Orlando area is $3.75 per gallon, even less than a mile from this price-gouging prick. :wiz:
  10. Why New York was picked as one of the homes for a shuttle is beyond me. I understand one going to the Smithsonian. I can even justify one to LA because of all the aerospace-related industry an research in southern California. But why not Houston? I just don't get that one.
  11. This. When we bought our hybrid back in 2001, we had a Ford Explorer (5.0 litre V8 with the tow package). It had plenty of power to tow the rig with us and all our stuff, but the wheel base was too damned short. Every time a semi passed us we got blown all over the highway. Upgraded to a Ford F150 Supercrew and it towed like a dream.
  12. Here is a modification I did to our 23B - I put home-made shelves in the closet - made it much easier for storing clothes for me, SWMBO and the kids:
  13. Congratulations!!! The very first camper I ever owned was a 2002 Jayco Kiwi 23B. Loved it. Here it is at Fort Wilderness in 2004:
  14. I think that is the biggest family camping tent I have ever seen. Very cool - have a great time with it!!
