  1. Yeah it’s already started, they love camping at the Fort as much as staying at a deluxe. Given the choice 2 out of 3 will choose the Fort. Must be doing something right!
  2. We are the opposite of most and went to Disney 3 times during 2020 and have two trips booked for the next year( fingers crossed for runDisney). I had an AP during 2020 and with cheap flights, I took advantage. We camped late November and it was still nostalgic for us. Despite all the changes we still love it. We are blessed with the military discount so even with the price increase we can still go but do eat almost all our meals at the campsites/resorts. Our kids are right at the teen stage so I’m trying to squeeze a little more magic out of the mouse before the attitudes start. We also
  3. Im still planning on upgrading my military ticket to an AP with the DVC Gold. Our tiny little 50 point DVC contract has proven to be a good investment with all the perks for the last few years. I figure since we have two trips this year and it still will save me about $50 bucks vs buying the memory maker both trips. Plus I'm hoping that since the husband will actually be coming for the first time in 4 years he'll stay at the campsite with the kids and I can go park hopping solo. The thought of being able to do that just makes me giddy.
  4. Thats about 30 minutes from our home and has been a work in progress over the past few years. It's definitely improved from its former owners and seems to be a hot spot most times we pass.
  5. I can't wait!!! Sad we'll miss the activities prior to the 31 since we are flying in that afternoon, such is life!
  6. We aren't staying at the Fort this year but plan on stopping in to visit. The kids were really excited about the cart parade but I was hesitant coming on Halloween since we aren't resort guests this time and it gets a bit crazy for us with all the ToT festivities. I'm glad we can enjoy it this year and not get involved with the ToT crazies.
  7. Very cool! I sew and have done some machine quilting before the kids took up all my spare time. Now I mostly do doll clothes and kid dresses. I wish I could get back into quilting, the piecing is very calming. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. We have just at 600 miles to the Fort and have drove straight through (day and night driving), stopped halfway or stopped 2 hours out. I stop every couple of hours because the kids need the exercise and mama needs to stretch. Our last few trips have been centered around a runDisney event and my fathers health issues so regular stops are a must to keep me hydrated and race ready. I've been organizing our October trip and think we'll do 6 hours one day then drive in the next. It could change in the next 3 months but I like to get the kids loaded up around 5 and get a good chunk in before the
  10. I use the mugs every morning for my cup of coffee, seriously the kids know to be quiet until the cup is out of my hand. Since I use it every day I had one break the handle so I pulled it off. I do prefer the handless for the car, but its not that big of a difference. Maybe its a way to change up the loo without the scene being redone? Its seems every few years the Disney regulars are griping for a new design and this may be a way to add something new without the cost of changing the print.
  11. Last August we stayed at Saratoga and Port Orleans with the baby version of this and asked the guards if we could use it. They said as long as they could see through the mesh sun awning it was ok.
  12. We bought swim wings at the gift store a year or so ago when we forgot our puddle jumper.
  13. Any update on the "new" full loop? Are they building a comfort station?
  14. Its been almost 3 years and I'm still trying to meet everyone!
  15. We're looking at that time too! I'm also debating renewing our APs vs regular tickets....
  16. Im wondering how they are going to handle the women in burkas? Limiting adult costumes due to concealment or identity issues but allowing someone to wear a burka? Im by no means against a persons religious beliefs but in this world it can easily be used just as an adult costume would to conceal an object or identity.
  17. I will never forget the support I got here when venturing out alone with the kids! Granted it was only a 24 foot travel trailer but add the kids and dogs, it gets interesting! Backing up is still difficult at the Fort and I will gladly let someone else take over! I'll be traveling solo at the end of our January trip with all three kids and the dogs after running a half marathon the day before, should be interesting!
  18. We had AP & DVC registration this past Tuesday. I'm in for the Dark Side Challange, kids are in for their races and got hubs signed up for the Half. The challenge and kids races were gone in a couple minutes the half is still available. It looks like the hard core fans are going big with the challenge. I'm surprised the half is still available this far after registration, it will we interesting to see what happens Tuesday!
  19. We are here now with a child who has multiple food allergies. The menus are nice and a gallant effort but useless if you are allergic to more than one ingredient.
  20. Talk to me about staying at the Fort and participating in an event. Im looking at the Wine and Dine half and wonder if the internal buses will still be running at zero dark thirty when the after party concludes. Any tips from seasoned runners? Hoping to sign up for others after I get the W & D under my belt. Thanks!
  21. Im glad you posted and I found others opinions interesting. One of the reasons I fell in love with Disney World was how they accommodate people with dietary restrictions due to health reasons or choice. My daughters multiple food allergies are severe enough to end in the ER or worse so we eat almost all our meals at home where I can almost guarantee her safety. We shy away from processed foods due to cross contamination and mislabeled ingredients. Years ago, before my children were in the picture, I became a vegan due to how dairy/meats made me feel and it has been a blessing in disguise
  22. Aww, I remember planning for this trip! Memories...........Anyhow. apparently they never changed policy so tents are still welcome on the premium sites
  23. I was just wondering about this for our upcoming trip, I did the online check in and may just let it be at that. As long as I'm at the Fort, I really don't care:)
