ECKusch got a reaction from BradyBzLyn...Mo in Places to get a GOOD drink at WDW
Dawa Bar @ Animal Kingdom. All the Bloody Mary's are great, and they mix a mean margarita. When the band is going, arguably my favorite bar in WDW.
Crockett's Tavern @ the Fort has a full service bar that you can order your own drinks or any number of Disney's concoctions. Cant go wrong with the Mules.
Tune-in Lounge @ Hollywood Studios. Dad's electric lemonade is quite good on a hot day. If you have a sweet tooth, they make a PB&J milkshake that quite good, and vanilla vodka can be added to make it even better.
Rose &Crown in the UK @ Epcot is awesome and authentic. The mixed beers are great including the Snake Bite= 1/2 Harp and 1/2 Cider!
Any beer is Germany is great, I prefer the Oktoberfest.
And lastly the crown jewel, or since we're talking about Disney, the Belle of the ball... La Cava De Tequila inside the Mexico pavilion @ Epcot. Here you will find all sorts of Margaritas including the cucumber which is not frozen and I recommend adding some jalapenos for a kick. The pepper beer also packs a decent punch.
    Hope this helps.

Will probably not open for the 1 night, but miracles do happen. More than likely someone will end up getting it as part of a extended stay.
Be careful if you book extra days, then try to drop them. They changed the policy last year making it very difficult to do that just because there were so many people were booking extra just to get 1 or 2 days. If you called ahead of time to cancel and you got a regular reservation agent, they couldn't cancel the days for you, they had to send a message to someone higher up, who may or may not grant you the change.  They would either email you an answer, or the change would appear in the reservation portion of MDE.
Don't know what would happen if you tried to drop that many days at check in.
Welcome to the wonderful Disney Reservation System!

The official word from on high:

You have to read it all the way to the end to find out about personal watercraft.

Note that prohibition is in the same bullet point that tells us no skateboards, ripsticks or gas powered scooters are allowed.  You may notice many of the above in operation whenever you visit the Fort.  Kids ride these right past Castmembers, who say nothing.

And, sometimes you'll see something like this:

That sure looks like a personal watercraft to me.

In my opinion it is worth it.  The show is very entertaining, the food is really good if you like ribs and fried chicken, and the beer and sangria is all you want.

The Golf Cart Parade has taken place at 4 pm on Christmas Eve for the past couple years, maybe even longer.  They also judge the sites and the cabins later that night and the winners are usually posted at the comfort stations or the bike barn.

There's usually a site contest and a cart parade.  Both are signed up for at the Bike Barn, usually by the day before.  I don't know the schedule, but it seems like maybe Christmas Eve for both judgings.  Will you be there?  We'll be there from around the 8th thru Jan 5.

Oh, and :welcrowd: .  You will find that in addition to some good info around here, threads will quickly veer off topic.  From then on (usually post # 10) anything goes.  Enjoy.

Yes, in years past there has been a site decorating contest and also an official Christmas golf cart parade.  And other events as well, including a visit from Santa on Trail's End porch.

The schedule varies from year to year.  The last few years, a special schedule has been printed and distributed to guests and posted on the comfort station bulletin boards.  That schedule probably won't be printed until after Thanksgiving, which has its own schedule of events.

Chances are good that as soon as the schedule has been finalized, a copy will be posted on this site, probably before it is even distributed to guests at the Fort.  But, I wouldn't expect to see it before the first week of December.

ECKusch reacted to Memphis in Magic Bands at the Fort
So we went over to the Fort last weekend and was issued Magic bands and then was told the Magic bands will not open the gate, will not open the comfort stations or laundry rooms.  We could use the to charge but we never got the chance to try.  Oh and because the DW and I already had MB previously they could not make the new MBs the other people in our party were given to work in the parks so they could not use FP+.  WTFort. We went to GR at AK and they could not help either in fact they told us we should not link AP to MBs.  WTF again.  They did give us some FPs that we could use but my daughter and her boyfriend had just bought APs and were very bummed they could not get their MBs linked and use FP+.  Mine and my DW's MB still worked and I was able to get some FP+ but later in the day when we decided we wanted to change either some return times or to a different attraction I kept getting error msg to try again later. We finally decided to leave and I was trying to cancel the remaining FP+ that we were not going to use and still got the error msg.  So needless to say the bugs are not worked out of the system and the poor CMs at guest relations are pulling their hair out.  They are in the dark for the most part as well.  So I hope you have a magical time when you get your MB.   I still think they will be a good thing but it may take a year or two for them to get them to work. Apparently Disney hired the same IT folks that Obama care hired.

    Yes it's absolutely necessary!!!
Ok not really. I just wanted to be different. They are a lot of fun for driving around the loops looking at the decorations and meeting new FrIENDS. we call it looping, I might suggest you rent one on a day you are planning to to just stay at the fort. Then you can decide whether or not its worth it. Me personally wouldn't be at the fort without one but I'm old and lazy.
Either way you'll have a great time and welcome.

I'll pile on and say welcome and, no, a golf cart is not necessary.

But, since you're going to be there during one of the best times of the year for seeing campsite decorations, you really ought to at least rent a cart for the day.  You can arrange for a daily rental at the front desk, or by calling the Bike Barn.

I wouldn't be surprised if all of Disney's carts are already spoken for for Halloween itself, but you shouldn't have a problem getting a cart for one day during the weekend.

Don't sweat the fact that you're late in the planning department.  When I first visited the Fort, there was no such thing as the internet, and I figured it out.

Absolutely necessary!  Well, maybe not - but I do agree that you should have one to loop around for one day at least.

You can also try calling the Front Desk at the Fort. Online and on the phone reservations showed no availability - the Font Desk said no problem (you may have to speak to the manager).

It is possible that one of the travel agents who sponsors this board could help.  Does not cost you anything to use them, and they handle the dirty work, so to speak.

Check this link...there are a couple of agents listed.
