  1. I remember those buses. I thought they were so cool. Dave, I have a pic of my dad and i chilling at EPCOT in 83 with matching short shorts and white tube socks with big stripes pulled up to our knees.
  2. If they could ban stupid people and also inconsiderate people that would be great too. I wish you had to solve a puzzle to gain entry.
  3. It is so crowded here for spring break! If you are not rope dropping or FP'ing you can forget it. With that said we have been doing both and having a great time. Weather is perfect, and we are getting plenty of FW time (which is the best part, imho).
  4. This was being driven by a grown ass man....not a very smart one, though
  5. Any info on where it's going or going away?
  6. My motto is I'd rather be sweating at Disney than at work. So we go whenever we feel like it. If it's hot at Disney it will be hot at home . My kids can't miss school now so we do spring break (at FW now), summer trips, and usually a week at Thanksgiving. We were here for MLK weekend and the weather was perfect. It is in the low 80's this week too.
  7. Does anyone know if the backyard bbq pavilion is being relocated to the same area as planned before?
  8. Like was said before the amount of flagging and spray paint on the ground and pavement all around the store, marina, and pioneer hall is troubling. I saw it for myself earlier today. I'm thinking cart traffic in that area may be a thing of the past when this new stuff is built.
  9. I'm lucky that my company offers generous vacation time. I typically have 5 to 6 weeks a year available. Also I have to work every 4th weekend. That gives me 2 days off the following week. So I can take 3 days and be off for 5. I try to always schedule a work weekend before vacation to cut down on time. Now that my wife is working again we are constrained by her time off. For example the kids and I check in on Saturday, but she is flying down Tuesday night. I also own a fabrication business. It takes up nearly all of my free time, but I have my father working with me so he looks after things w
  10. I remember the characters waterskiing too. We used to take the bike path past is what is now WL to look at the topiaries. We visited FW regularly until about 1987, then family troubles put an end to it. I went back in 1994 (wilderness lodge) and to FW in 1998 with my GF (now wife), and we been about every year since then.
  11. I'm 43. I think my first trip was 1979. I do remember riding the train.
  12. The swimming area was pretty small. There was a rectangular area that was roped off with ropes through floating bouy things.
  13. I swam many times down there at the beach. I would swim out to the ropes and back. Good times.
  14. Us fiends need to buy a track of land somewhere and build it to be like the Fort of the 80's. We can have teepees, stump trash cans, muskets, peacocks, swamp trails, marshmallow marsh, etc
  15. What in The actual Fort They can Fort straight off with this $/!+
  16. Whatever you get make sure your tow rig and hitch set up is on point. Even a small TT can be a handful with an undersized tow rig and/or improperly set up hitch.
  17. Instead of charging more for the sites closer to the Meadows, they should just charge less for those sites further away....lol. I also agree with PGHFiend. Any type of new investment in FW, even if it is for the high brow elites and us low life rednecks will never set foot in it, is a good thing. Maybe they will invest in some new common amenities too. But this raises the question of how high are rates headed in the short term. Is $250 a night coming in the new few years? I hope not.
  18. This makes our Thanksgiving trip seem a bit more exciting....now if we can just get in to ride something.
  19. For sure. We just have a hard time sneaking off without them. They love it as much as we do.
  20. If/when Disney prices us out we will be at some other campground having a good time sitting around a fire. We enjoy camping wherever it is....from Disney to boondocking at a dirtbike race. We're campers.
  21. Dang good TR. You're husband is a trooper for driving 20 hrs straight. I love to drive, but 10 to 12 is enough for me.
  22. I've basically given up on making reservations for quick upcoming trips. I never have any luck. I use an agent and nearly always get what I want.
  23. I only see 3 pics too. I've tried 2 different phones and 2 browsers on my desktop
