Yes. For me it is currently my favorite ride at Disney. Star Tours is a fun ride but I love the interactivity of Smugglers.
I think nostalgia plays a big role in whether people like it or love it. To be inside the ship is unbelievable to some. The waiting room with the chess table is like being in the movie. My girls are not big star wars fan and they were just "meh" about it. They said that Star Tours is more thrilling. I tend to agree. Bode loves them both, but he is 7 and loves everything Star Wars. I feel the experience could be better. I think the pilot role is the best. The other roles you spend a lot of time looking at the buttons and not out of the front windows. I've been on it six times now. I don't hate it, but maybe my hopes were too high. Also, not one time has our flight led to any comments or interactions with CM's in the cantina like they advertised. Is that a thing yet?

I have to disagree with you. I absolutely love Smugglers Run. Ridden it over a dozen times so far.
Do you think its better than Star Tours? Not the que....just the actual ride.

I'm glad RoTR is good, because Smugglers Run pretty much sucks IMO.

We arrived last Sunday Dec. 1. We were very surprised when parking permits that go on your dashboard, are not being used anymore. Does anyone know why? Also this past weekend I have encountered more than usual rude guests. So between all the changes at the Fort and the rudeness, this has been one heck of a stay.
They may have just forgotten to give one to you. When we checked in at Thanksgiving the CM seemed preoccupied with the new ipad software. He initially gave us our paperwork without the permit. When I asked about it he said "oh yeah" and went back to the shack for it.

Did that once. Aside from the fact that it was 80° at 6am, it was very cool!
We were in HS before sunrise last week and back in September. It is nice to see the lights and decorations at night but a bit later it is daylight.

I like watching the sun rise from inside of a park

We ate there on Black Friday. It was fantastic. We ordered some small plates (mac & cheese bites, chicken skewers, and the grilled romaine). All were excellent. The kids had another round of mac bites too. Our main was the skirt steak with potatoes and asparagus. It was seasoned and cooked perfectly. WBG is what these disney run restaurants should try to emulate.

I'm curious...do you have to make a hard 90 turn with your rig anywhere repeatedly?

They are shutting down the old parking lot at 4PM each day and running the carriage rides out of this area.

This is for the Christmas Carriage rides that will be leaving out of Meadow in December. Notics it's mulch rather than gravel. The rides begin in late december and will be leaving out of there.
Dual purpose then. Its marked as cart parking entrance. I hope the pole they installed to keep cars out is removable. Otherwise, carriages won't fit.

One change I see this year is the Wolf Pack is in the 2000 loop instead of the 1500.

They installed a new entrance for the expanded cart parking by the Meadow store. Carts will no longer have to enter the old parking lot to access the new parking.

The biggest breaker of Disney rules is Disney itself.
We mentioned about that no pets in tents notice, and that's when the CM told us they couldn't ask if they were service dogs.
They have been allowing all kinds and sizes of campers in the partial loops for years, even though their pages say partial loops are for tents, pop ups, and van campers.
There was a picture on a Fort FB page of a Class A shoehorned into a site on the 2000 loop over Halloween.
So I won't feel bad about parking my T@B on a partial, it's smaller than a lot of PUPs.
We got exactly what we expected when we went to the Outpost office. We didn't go in complaining, we went in asking questions. Same song and dance about why they allow 2000 to be overrun like a third world country.
We were having too good of a stay to take it up to the next notch and ask for a supervisor since we would get the same answer.
I'm sure it's in our records that we were already comped a night a few years ago because of all the BS in 2000. So if they were smart they would've done their best not to assign us that loop again. But our last 3 stays have all been in 2000 even with faxing in a request for 1500 sites.
Plenty of small TT's in the 2000 loop this week too. Sorry you had some rude neighbors.

I thought Premium Meadow didn't start till Jan.
I don't know for sure. I know that I wont be paying for one, though.

We checked in today at 10:45 am without sending a request. What I see different from September to now is the CM comes to your window with an iPad to do check in. There's a list of available sites on the iPad that they can refresh by the minute. I scrolled through the list while looking through the book. I was allowed to pick 1010. I thought the 1000 loop was premium meadow, but either way I only had reserved premium. The fort was packed coming in today. We parked in the field by the hitching post for along with a bunch of others while waiting for our site.
The CM said the iPad thing was being developed for the Riviera. Apparently there will not be a front desk area....only wandering CM's with iPads

Whle many like site specific reservations, it is bad in that sites will go empty between reservations. Plus, if I'm on a FHU site and want to extend a night with site specific reservations I may not be able to even though there is another site available as mine may be booked.
Agree. At some campgrounds I like site specific reservations so you can pick a really good site over a bad one or small site. But at the Fort a majority of the sites are pretty equal. I think overall it would be detrimental if they switched.

We check in Saturday. With a 45' rig plus the truck I always looks at the book to pick my site.

So if you haven't checked it out yet, Disney plus has a series on there called "The Imagineering Story". I watched the first 2 episodes so far and saw some pictures and footage of stuff I've never seen before. Very informative and right up my alley with all the mechanics and such.
I did get it free for being a Verizon wireless customer, so if you qualify, check it out.
Ep 1 was great

Thanks for the tip. I just signed up last night to watch the Mandalorian....which is really good too.

Slight hijack...
All of this talk of inconsistent quality makes me appreciate our local favorite even more. If you are ever close to Guntersville, AL go to Old Towne Stockhouse. It is the best steak I have ever had. Their filet is always on point and cheaper than any Disney filet.

2000 loop huh....cant wait for the 1am salsa dancing block party report
Good looking set up you have there too.

We had dinner at California Grill on October 25, and the sides to the filets were definitely not hashbrowns and tomatoes. David had a big crock of mac and cheese (which he said was very good) and another small side of sauteed spinach and onions (he thought this was pretty good, but I thought it was delicious). I don't eat mac and cheese, so I asked for green beans. Both our meals were excellent.
Glad they got rid of those sides. I wish they would bring back the truffle risotto and asparagus from a few years ago. Those were awesome.

DD(15) and I are looking for a place to have breakfast one morning during our up coming trip.
Open to all suggestions but we are not looking for a character meal.
The restaurant can be in a park, resort, Disney Springs, and we will also consider an off-property Resort or restaurant.
thanks in advance for all of your suggestions.
We have always enjoyed the breakfast at Whispering Canyon.
Greenberg Rentals

If they are related.... reading between the lines I would guess some of the "investors" probably had some Greenberg campers financed in their name. When Greenberg got sideways and fell behind on the payment they went to pick them up. There were posts on facebook about guests having their Greenberg campers repossessed while at the Fort. Greenberg claims these were stolen. No sane person would claim that a bank was stealing when a repossession occurred, but if the "investor" did it I could see how this could be labeled as such.
