  1. Awesome TR! We love the Smokies and go often. I am not that fond of Gatlinburg's touristy stuff, but I love the surrounding area. I have to call you out on this, though. A high temp in the 80's has never been recorded at Clingmans. It's quite amazing how different the climate is on the highest peaks of the Smokies. Here's some weather data from the 4th.
  2. I really like LRC and Desoto SP. The campground has mtn bike trails leading from it too. I live less than 1 hr from there, and we visit the canyon often. A few years ago I bought some acreage on the mtn about 15 min from the canyon. It reminds me of being in east TN or NC. I thought about putting in a single campsite or a small cabin on the property for a little quick getaway place. Here's the falls with a little more flow. Sometimes it is really rolling. There used to be an amusement park and mini golf near Eberhart Point on the canyon rim. It even had a scenic chairlift that ran down to
  3. Exactly! And people have no problem paying more for water than gasoline. My water plant at work makes 700 gpm of PURE demineralized water for about 60 cents a gallon.
  4. The wife started couponing/buying on sale last month. I was astonished at how much good food (ie steak, chicken, etc) that she got for $100
  5. Great TR! I must be slow on the uptake...I didn't realize HBW was BigKahuna on the other board. I do remember that nice Cyclone from the Halloween GG a few years ago.
  6. We ate there several years ago, and it was not too great. I left thinking that we could have had much better for much less offsite. I hope the new iteration is much better.
  7. The inmates where my mom works can do that for free.
  8. This is a really great TR. Enjoyed looking at the pics of the kids having a great time. My kids are of similar age to yours and enjoy the same things. My DD5 sat in my lap and wanted to look at every picture just now.
  9. Eternabond for sure. Pay close attention to the corners around the front and back caps. Also surface prep is critical with eternabond.
  10. My suggestion is to avoid PF and camp in Townsend.
  11. Don't go around messing with this. It's a sewer lift station...think pressurized poop pipe.
  12. Awesome diversion! My F250 pulls to the south sometimes, but I have to rein it back because it won't spit $100 bills out of the cd player.
  13. Loving the ice cream face. I do the same thing.
  14. Props for taking the kids by yourself. That is a great looking CG.
  15. I LOL'ed at the drawing. :rofl2: Never tried the fish and chips. I may give them a try next time. Cool TR as usual.
  16. That's pretty common. The pin carries a lot of the load. My 16k GVWR trailer has 2 7k's. It weighs (depending on loading) about 14 - 15k with our stuff...it has about 11- 12k lbs on the axles.
  17. That doesn't surprise me at all. Lippert frames have a hard enough time staying together anyway. There are 5'ers out there that will handle it (ie. New Horizons), but they are spendy and heavy.
  18. Just got back from a 3 day weekend at the Ocoee River. Nearly every year my ski buddies get together in the summer for a blowout at a river. We usually choose the Ocoee or the Nantahala. The weekend usually goes like this drink, party, drink, frisbee, party, paddle, drink, party, cook, drink, drink, sleep, drink, mountain bike, paddle, drink, party, party, party, drink, music, yelling, really cook, camp fire, sleep, breakfast, and pack up. This trip was no different. We had a site at Adventures Unlimited just down for the Ocoee. AU is known as one of the more wild campgrounds. It is really, r
  19. Headed up to TN to camp near the Ocoee next Friday. Then we will probably take a few local CG trips. Saving up for the Fort at Thanksgiving.
