  1. Good info, looks like we aren't going to split the stay up. We aren't eligible for the free dining plan, unless we buy two days of tickets, we are season pass holders, so we don't need them. They would let us apply the days to renewing our passes, but we aren't renewing the passes next year, so not really worth it. So, no free dining plan, but two weeks of camping camping at the Fort, just as good in my opinion!
  2. Hi, We are camping in August, but with this new meal deal, thinking about camping for a week, then hotel for a week. Is it easy to store the RV at the campground? What is the process for leaving it there for a week? Cost? Trying to figure if it would work out. Thanks,
  3. I actually enjoyed the new opening procedure. Made it through the turnstiles without too much trouble. Got a breakfast sandwich, enjoyed it sitting at the tables outside the little restaurant at the end of Main Street, which had a great view of the castle, then when the park opened got right over to Space Mountain.
  4. Ok, I think you have talked me out of the archery and horses. I agree with the boats. I've actually done that before and it is fun. Last time we rented the sea racer at Beach Club and boated to the Studios and back, lots of fun. We are mini golfing this time, looking forward to that. Thinking maybe the wagon ride might be a less expensive option and give us a nice ride through the campground. Thanks for all the thoughts and ideas.
  5. We are heading down to the fort this August and want to do something different. If you had to pick one, would you do the archery or horseback riding? The family is split.
  6. We have actually been to Dollywood several times. Being an annual pass holder there is like 6 times cheaper than Disney. Might not be as big, but there are some great roller coasters, very friendly people, clean, well taken care of and great surroundings, (insert joke here). If I can't pull off a Disney Trip, Dollywood is a pretty good alternative.
  7. The weired thing is I am so used to wristbands now, Disney/Great Wolf Lodges, that I got a room key instead and spent all weekend wishing I could just use my wristband to do everthing.
  8. Talking about magnitude. I wonder how it would work if Disney made changes like Six Flags does. Morning, every goes on the water slide. Evening, we are measuring everyone before they go on the water slide. We went back the next morning and adults were not alowed on the one waterside at all. I may not like everything Disney does, but at least they put some thought into it and have a plan to put it in action. Again, might not always understand or agree with the plan, but at least there is one.
  9. It's your basic tube slide.http://www.sixflagsgreatescapelodge.com Was supposed to be a nice little weekend get away while we wait for spring. While we would rather be at Disney, the three hour drive here is a little more managible than the twenty to Disney. Next time we go to Great Wolf Lodge, the place that I believe had RFID technology in their wristbands even before Disney.
  10. I guess the limit is 200 pounds. We wouldn't know for sure since it's not posted. luckily no one in my family had a problem. I feel real bad for the person that does and has to take the "Walk of shame back down". Regardless, I don't know of many females that like to step on scales for strangers, so I don't see this going over well. As an added bonus, it slows the already poorly managed line down even more.
  11. After spending the weekend at the Great Escape Lodge in Lake George, I really appreciate how well Disney is run. They instituted a new policy of weighing people at the top of a water slide, when the water park manager went out and bought a scale and decided at 6:30 at night this new policy is going to take effect. Surprise, your getting weighed at the top! Oh yea , they have RFID chip cups, but sometimes you have to wait up to 11/2 hours to refill!
  12. Luckily, I have not had to use the Good Sam membership, but I like that it covers everyone in the house and you don't have to add addition people on for more $.
