We had a wet summer and fall, but I'll bet it's under control by now. I personally have never had a problem with mosquitos at the Fort. Can't say the same about a lot of other Florida campgrounds. Since your wife is allergic I think you should use some type of repellent regardless of time outside. If you have issues with DEET as a repellent Picaridin is effective and not greasy. It is all I use these days other than permethrin treating my clothes when I know I am going to be in heavy tick areas. Even there I still use Picaridin on exposed skin.
