We'll be there October 3rd through 9th (I think that's right) for the Food & Wine Festival.  We go every year.  We consider it a business trip since we own a liquor store!  It's my favorite time o

YAHOO !!! :jumpforjoy :jumpforjoy :jumpforjoy I was finally able to add my extras days at The Fort, now I can cancel the reservations at the KOA and spend all 10 fun, food and wine filled days at WDW

I'm glad we're doing BATWIT again this year!!! I tried last year & nobody was interested, so I'm super-excited we're giving it a try. I'm there 10/27 to 11/2, weekends are best for me.

Suppose we could go see Gin Blossoms or Sister Hazel. Not much interested in seeing Hanson.

Was scared because they moved Starship up earlier in the month, but I'll get there on their last night on a trip earlier in the month. We cruise 10/8 for 7 days & follow up with 5 days at the Boardwalk for Food & Wine, then Halloween trip. Let's just say I spend half my month with Mickey

Hops and Barley: 2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival

Showcasing some awesome Sam Adams beers, Hops and Barley serves thirst-quenching brews and American favorites.

Bean promotes using wild and sustainably caught Maine lobster meat and will be providing storyboards about the subject at the Hops and Barley booth — where Maine lobster rolls will be served.

2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival Brews

Aug 3rd, 2011

by Kim.

Can you have a festival without beer? I think not. At the 2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival, brews will be available in many locations. Get your thirst quenched at the Craft Beer Booth, Brewer’s Collection, and the Hops and Barley Marketplace. Many individual countries will also be serving up their own beer, and there will likely be beer seminars on the docket in the Festival Center.

That said, many beer enthusiasts are less than thrilled with the offerings at this year’s Festival, mentioning the lack of more obscure and unique craft beers. We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below!

Singapore will serve up world-acclaimed Tiger Beer, which was first brewed in 1932. After 500 hours of a brewing process, the beer is placed in amber bottles to keep it from aging too fast!

Morocco Bar Menu

Yes, it’s brewed and bottled in Casablanca! Casa Beer will be served at the Morocco booth.

Mexico Bar Menu

Stop by Mexico for Dos Equis beer deemed “the most interesting toast in the world”!

Japan Bar Menu

Kirin draft beer will be on tap in Japan! Did you know that beer is sold in vending machines in Japan?

Italy Bar Menu

Birra Moretti (Moretti Beer) boasts being the only Italian beer to hold top prestigious beer awards. Stop by Italy to do your own taste test!

Ireland Bar Menu

Ireland will fill your mug with the deep, dark Guinness Draught. It’s the roasted, unmalted barley which gives this brew its burnt flavor.

Hawaii Bar Menu

Surf’s up in Hawaii when you partake in a Kona Longboard or Pipeline Beer. And unless you grab a bite to eat, you’ll be hangin’ loose before you reach the next stop on your World Showcase tour. Islanders like to pair their Pipeline beer with a hearty meal!

Germany Bar Menu

Germany will serve the deep golden-colored Radeberger Pilsner and the Bavarian Altenmünster Dunkel.

China Bar Menu

Tsingtao Beer is on the menu in China, of course. This beer was first brewed in 1903.

Canada Bar Menu

Our neighbors to the north are known for hockey and beer! Thus, there’s no surprise that Canada has Moosehead Beer on tap!

‘Best of Bocuse’ Dinner Details for Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

posted on August 11th, 2011 by Pam Brandon, Disney Parks Food Writer

Foodies ‘round the world know 3-star Michelin Chef Paul Bocuse, one of the 20th century’s most revered culinary icons. In 1982, he opened Chefs de France restaurant at Epcot‘s France Pavilion (along with French chefs Roger Verge and Gaston Lenôtre) to bring Disney guests a taste of his famous Lyon, France, restaurant, l’Auberge du Pont de Collonges.

bbc013939SMALL.jpg

Now, nearly 30 years later, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival is honoring the great chef with a “Best of Bocuse” dinner based mostly on the cookbook, “Best of Paul Bocuse.” Published in 2008 and translated to English, the book is a treasure of Bocuse recipes – and each dinner guest gets a copy to take home.

And while the great culinary master won’t be in the kitchen, a 5-course dinner will be prepared by Chef Francesco Santin, longtime chef at Bocuse’s Lyon restaurant. The menu will include his famous truffle soup; red snapper with potato “scales”; sorbet des vignerons; chicken fricassee with morels; a cheese course; and tarte tartin – all classic recipes from Chef Bocuse and all in the book (except the cheese and sorbet).

Bocuse’s longtime pal Jean-Luc Columbo, a pioneer in French wine-making, will help host the evening and share his award-winning Rhône Valley wines.

The dinner will be in the lovely Bistro de Paris upstairs at the France Pavilion from 6:30-10 p.m. on Nov. 7. Cost is $245 (gratuity included). Epcot admission is required.

Tickets go on sale Aug. 16! With just 75 seats, reserve a spot by calling 407-WDW-FEST.

Jamie Deen Back for This Year’s Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

posted on August 23rd, 2011 by Pam Brandon, Disney Parks Food Writer

We caught up with Jamie Deen at The Lady & Sons in beautiful Savannah, Ga., the restaurant named after his famous mama Paula and brother Bobby. And of course we stayed for fried chicken and Paula’s famous chicken pot pie.

Look for Jamie’s culinary demo at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 22, in the Festival Welcome Center. Cost is $13 and all we know is that he’s planning to cook up something wonderful with chicken. You’ll pick up some great tips and get a taste of his dish during the 45-minute session.

See you there! For more information on this year’s festival and to book a session, go to Disneyworld.com/foodandwine. Epcot theme park admission is required. You also can call 407-WDW-FEST.
