Coincidentally, beginning this fall Mickey's Backyard Massage Parlor and Casino will begin offering the Naughtily Ever After Fireworks Dessert Party.  Enjoy a buffet dinner at Minnie's Ho Down Smorgas

Can't change it, can't stop it, enjoy it while you can, that's my plan.

Just curious where this artist rendering came from and how accurate it may be?  It is possible the artist wasn't sure what was happening in that area and just romanticized the beach area for a sales pitch.

Yes, I know my glass is half full...but I just can't accept the other possibility right now.

rOMG, I am catching up and I just read through this.  Even as a DVC member, I am about to throw up.

I agree with you also but being a DVC member maybe they might add the DVC Campsites behind the resort.:ROFLMAO-1:

Thinking about the rumour that the site levels at the Fort are going to be changed based on distance to the Meadow's when looking at this does make me wonder about losing the settlement as part of the Fort.

I think the settlement is going to be lost and I'm wondering about the 100 loop and maybe even 200 and 300?   Or 400?  I remember reading the 700 loop would go but holy crap!!    Just how big is the footprint for this monstrosity???

Those buildings beyond Pioneer Hall look to be considerably larger than the old store?  And there looks to be two parking areas?  It's hard to judge when I blow it up.

I hate to say it but I wonder if this is the beginning of the end for the fort? They could make way more money with 6 rooms stacked on each other than 1 campsite 👎🏻

I don’t think so but I know they’re looking at how to make more $ since they look at the land as underutilized. I did hear a rumor, and that is all it is, that they are considering replacing the cabins with permanent buildings similar to the cabins at Wilderness Lodge.

Until they either

1: Come up with good/clear construction plans that have recognizable current landmarks on them

2: Construction fences go up

A lot of this is speculation

Architectural drawings/paintings as opposed to blueprints/site plans are at best fanciful interpretations of someones ideas of how the finished project will look.

Lets hope they painted this after a long night of adult beverages.

The only thing that is making me worry a bit about this is the fact that someone I know who is familiar with the project told me a few weeks ago that the level of encroachment to the Fort is much more than he was hoping.

That plus all of the construction flags and stakes in the field next to Pioneer Hall and even further to the east.

Some genius made the decision that this real estate was too valuable to leave it as an amenity for lowly campers.

This is a big FU to the Fort and its loyal guests.

I agree. When I heard that rumor it didn't make sense that sites near the Meadow would be more valuable than sites near the Settlement. But if the Settlement is gone, it makes sense.

Look at the things in the water. Those are house boats. Are they going to stay docked? Will you be able to rent a house boat and take it out on the lake??

Yes, I saw those, and they do look like houseboats. If they are, I can't imagine that they would let guests drive them around.

But, if they're not going to be operational boats, then why mess with them?

This also opens the possibility of them building docks with shore power for these around Discovery Island. That would be something.

Maybe they will be chartered like the GF yacht and the fishing excursions.

You can rent them for watching fireworks and stay in air conditioning while the butler serves you dinner.

They mentioned when introducing this resort that there would be unique lodging. I think they are house boats and I agree, some docks arou d Discovery Island would be something.

As I said in a previous post I was wondering if the Settlement was going to be reassigned to the DVC. I also seem to recall someone commenting that Trails End was going to get some remodeling or updating. It would make Di$ney sense, not the same as common sense,  to make the Hoop-Dee-Doo Review, an upgraded TE, beach and the rest of the Settlement a selling point of the DVC. The rumor of the tiered pricing off the Meadows certainly would fit with the change. Hopefully the artist took a fair amount of artistic license on the drawing. I guess we'll know by the next time Rene and I get down that way.

So the more I thought on this last night and reading the latest posts... I believe we will see only a small access road to the boat dock and we will not have access to the beach for watching the fireworks or water parade...

Now my glass is half-empty...

I just filled my glass (straight up) to write this - as TCD said this is a huge FU to everyone at the Fort.  As usual Disney's bean counters have done their calculations and realize there is major money to be made here.

Just think of the Hoop-Dee-Doo being the new "show" like the Polynesia!

Instead of booking an OWB now you can book a houseboat, anchored at your own private island!  No doubt room service can be delivered right to your door!

Hot tubs to watch the fireworks at Wilderness Lodge?   Nope, your own tub on your own boat!

There isn't enough alcohol in my house to get through this!

Damn I am sad.   (and my glass is now empty)
