Yes, but for whom? I can imagine a third party real estate company snapping some of these, which would really throw a wrench into the works, particularly with regard to "city" governance. Disney might lose out on their monopoly position.

Disney has an onerous right of first refusal for any DVC proposed resales. They're not going to let any contracts get snapped up by third parties. If things get really bad, then everything goes down the tubes along with Disney. Disney always wins (or everyone loses).

Coincidentally, beginning this fall Mickey's Backyard Massage Parlor and Casino will begin offering the Naughtily Ever After Fireworks Dessert Party.  Enjoy a buffet dinner at Minnie's Ho Down Smorgas

Can't change it, can't stop it, enjoy it while you can, that's my plan.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's some sort of clause in the contracts that the deeds revert back to Disney if the users default.

Like TCD said Disney won't let that happen, I mean even now a friend who has had DVC at Old Key West since it started decided to sell it, had a buyer lined up but Disney exercised their right of refusal and instead Disney bought it and he got a even better deal then what he would have with the first buyer.

My sources tell me they could only save one of MBYBBQ or MBYMPAC....not both.  Of course, the BYMPAC brings in a lot more money, and it's primarily cash.  The Mouse loves cash.  Even singles.

What the heck is that??   MBYBBQ, I got:  Mickeys Back Yard BBQ.  But...?

We were at Fort Wilderness today.  The road between the Fort and Wilderness Lodge is now closed.  The bus to Wilderness Lodge now drops you off and picks you up at the Outpost.  A large fence now blocks the road and the area just past the barn.  In the picture, that is the cross walk to the trail to Wilderness Lodge.  You can see the fencing just past that.

Thanks for the update!  I can't tell from the photo, but there has to be a gate there somewhere that they will open for the construction traffic, right?

I agree. There's no reason that they can't reopen the path and road once construction is done. Access to WL will be a selling point for the new resort.

Can't imagine it ( the path) will be as peaceful though.  Still.. hopefully you're both right and it re-opens.

Yes there is a gate to the right of the photo, much closer to the area behind the barn.

I agree regarding reopening the trail. Nothing is being done to remove the trail. There is too much activity in that area right now.

We were at the Fort yesterday morning for breakfast also. While I didn't physically go over toward the construction area, I can also note that Purple/Orange is now combined. The bus goes through the cabins, then by 2000, then down to the group camping area, then U-Turns at the turnaround, and then goes back to the 4-way and down the center road. (Reverses the process from Settlement to Outpost). I also did see Wilderness Lodge buses at the Outpost stop. Have no idea if it turns into Yellow, or if it's a standalone bus.

I was wondering about the purple bus route. I also wonder what they're doing for Hoop Dee Doo guests looking to get back to their resorts by bus. For the last few years, the WL MK bus looped over to the Settlement to pick up Hoop Dee Doo guests and brought them to the MK bus stops. I can't imagine them continuing this with the road closed, as going to the Outpost is a big detour. So I wonder if there will be a dedicated MK bus route from the Settlement in the evening?

That would make sense therefore can't be allowed to come into being.

The Wilderness Lodge bus is now a stand alone bus route.

I wonder if that means there will only be one bus on the yellow route since two buses would be overkill with the shortened route?

TCD

Which would probably be fine, as over the years, I've found the yellow route to have the least internal use.

I agree, if it's just zipping back and forth on Big Pine Drive, from the Settlement to the Outpost, one bus ought to be fine.

There's going to be A LOT more traffic on Fort Wilderness Trail from 1100/1200/1300 to the Settlement. In addition to the purple bus, all of the Settlement and horse barn CM's will be driving down that road.

That's not good.

Thanks to both of you for keeping us posted on the changes.  I am so captivated by this change.  Not sure why.  I think it is because for the first time my wife and I got a cart for trip last fall.  We usually biked, walked or bused the Fort.  We enjoyed the looping experience so much we bought our own cart.  We are headed back next fall and I am hoping to be able to enjoy the Fort just as much.

I hope the information keeps flowing at the progress changes.  Did anyone see what the new beach was looking like?

Yes, we went to the new beach. They’ve spread some more sand but still have more work to do. The equipment is still there and more piles of sand.
