Coming Soon To Epcot: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure

posted on March 13th, 2012 by Charles Stovall, Public Relations, Manager

Greetings from Epcot!

All the would-be secret agents out there will find a great new interactive experience at Epcot this year.

Coming this summer, Disney Phineas & Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure is based on the wily secret-agent alter-ego of Perry the Platypus – faithful pet to the title characters from Disney’s animated series “Phineas & Ferb.” Although just a simple pet to Phineas and Ferb, Perry turns into Agent P in each episode to help stop the misguided plans of his nemesis, Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

Epcot guests will transform into secret agents to help Agent P thwart some of Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s most daring plots. Agents will use a “high-tech secret agent device” to receive clues for each case. Solving the clues will take agents to different places throughout seven World Showcase countries at Epcot – Mexico Pavilion, France Pavilion, Germany Pavilion, Norway Pavilion, Japan Pavilion, China Pavilion and the United Kingdom Pavilion. Agents will scour each country for clues, evil “Inators,” and – with a little bit of luck – help Agent P defeat Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

Everyone ready to don their fedoras and help Agent P? I can’t wait

Disney Phineas & Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure will arrive at Epcot and the current Disney Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure will close in summer.

Sooooo, are they gonna change the interactive elements in WS itself, or just change the character interface on the phone??

Very good question! I'm curious to know that too.

I'm guessing even if they change the details they may not change the locations of the spots but wish they would. That way those who've already mastered KP will actually be able to enjoy the challenge again instead of just going to the same old KP location from memory...

From MousePlanet...

The rumor that we reported in January and again in Feburary has now been officially announced. The Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure is closing this summer to be replaced with "Disney Phineas & Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure." As with the Kim Possible game, guests will be deputized as agents to stop evil plots. Rather than different Kim Possible villains in each pavilion, all Agent P missions will involve his nemesis, Dr. Doofenshmirtz. The evil doctor will apparently create a different "-inator" device in each World Showcase pavilion.

As with Kim Possible, the game takes place in seven of the 11 pavilions: Mexico, Norway, China, Germany, Japan, France, and United Kingdom, with participants issued a "high-tech secret agent device" for the game. No word on whether it will continue to be a modified Verizon cell phone or a new device. The semi-aquatic egg-laying mammal of action begins his adventure this summer.

‘Phineas and Ferb’ VIPs Tour Epcot as Imagineers Prep Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure

posted on April 26th, 2012 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager

Hey, where’s Perry? He’s at Epcot!

While the new Epcot attraction, Disney Phineas & Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, won’t open until later this summer, three big talents behind the hit Disney Channel and Disney XD animated series got a sneak peek on Wednesday – along with Agent P himself! Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh are co-creators of “Phineas and Ferb” and actor Vincent Martella gives voice to Phineas Flynn. The trio toured World Showcase as Walt Disney Imagineering revealed some of the new attraction’s secrets – and then swore them to secrecy.

The game is based on the wily secret-agent alter-ego of Phineas and Ferb’s pet, Perry the Platypus. Transforming into secret agents, Epcot guests will use a F.O.N.E. (Field Operative Notification Equipment) to scour World Showcase for clues, evil “Inators” and – with a little bit of luck – help Agent P defeat his nemesis, Dr. Doofenschmirtz.

(Disclaimer: The statue of Dr. Doofenschmirtz you see at the end of the video was part of a Walt Disney Imagineering test, and was taken out before guests arrived for the day.)

Although Phineas and Ferb greet guests daily at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure is the first time these characters have been part of an attraction at Walt Disney World Resort.

In addition to creating “Phineas and Ferb,” you can also hear Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh on episodes of the show. Dan writes and performs songs, as well as providing the voice of Dr. Doofenschmirtz. Swampy also writes songs and voices Major Monogram.

During Walt Disney World’s Summer To Remember press event, we attended a special Phineas and Ferb’s Backyard BBQ at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. The hit Disney Channel show’s Co-Creators Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” March, and Voice Actor Vincent Martella spoke with the press about what they think Phineas and Ferb would do at Disney World. Then our teen reporter was able to ask them about their favorite characters, episodes and the new Agent P game coming to Epcot this summer.

Disney Phineas & Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure Coming In Late June

posted on May 16th, 2012 by Charles Stovall, Public Relations, Manager

Just wanted to give you a quick update on the new Disney Phineas and Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, including showcasing some new renderings of the experience we debuted at our Summer to Remember press event in April.

Starting in late June, Disney Phineas & Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure is based on the wily secret-agent alter-ego of Perry the Platypus – faithful pet to the title characters from Disney’s animated series “Phineas & Ferb.” Although just a simple pet to Phineas and Ferb, Perry turns into Agent P in each episode to help stop the misguided plans of his nemesis, Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

Epcot guests will transform into secret agents to help Agent P thwart some of Dr. Doofenshmirtz’s most daring plots. Agents will use a high tech detection device called a “F.O.N.E.” or Field Operative Notification Equipment to receive clues for each case.

The current Disney Kim Possible World Showcase Adventure will close this Friday, May 18.

New Details on Phineas and Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure

Jun 11, 2012

by wdwntadmin

A few days ago, the Disney Parks Blog had a live chat opportunity with Jonathan Ackley of Walt Disney Imagineering about interactive games at the Disney Parks and the upcoming Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure at Epcot. First-off, we got a first-look at some colored concept art:

phpKhLRGYfrance-ziplineFinalFlattenedSM.jpg

phpkDNytAuk-lamp_FlattenedFinal1SMALL.jpg

Secondly, there were a few interesting questions and answers during the live chat we’ll share with you now:

Comment From Joe: Will Agent P’s world showcase adventure include Phineas and Ferb or will it be just Agent P and Dr. Doofenshmirtz?

Jonathan: When guests play Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, it will be just like they are in an episode of the show. So, as the guests are trying to defeat Doof, Phineas and Ferb will be building a contraption and Candace will be trying to bust them. I think it’s likely that once you disable one of Doof’s inators, it just might make Phineas and Ferb’s machine disappear.

Comment From Jeremiah: Jonathan, thanks for being here. Kim Possible had her sound for the Kimunicators, what will be the sound for the Agent P game? One of my fav parts was walking World Showcase and hearing that chime go off.

Jonathan: The sound is going to be Agent P’s theme

Comment From Liz: Question … Will Agent P adventure use upgraded technology…not Kim Possible phone?

Jonathan: From a WDI standpoint, the focus is always on the storyline and not the technology. What we will be giving the guests is “Field Operative Notification Equipment,” or F.O.N.E.’s. Very high-tech stuff. (It’s even got a laser).

This sounds like it will be the same devices from Kim Possible, but we can’t be certain…

Comment From Kaylyn: How much did you work with Dan and Swampy to come up with the story of this interactive attraction? What were their contributions?

Jonathan: They were engaged from the very beginning, helping us with ideas and characters, and going over our scripts and making sure that we were creating a theme park attraction that is true to the show.

Comment From Jeff: Do you have a favorite country as far as storyline for both Kim and Perry?

Jonathan: Don’t make me choose between all my children…(Germany!).

Jenn Fickley-Baker: From the blog, Matt asks “When the Agent P game debuts, will all of the missions be available or will more be coming later? If so, when?”

Jonathan: All of the missions will be available once we open the attraction, but there will be new top secret-iniators that will roll out over the summer.

Stay tuned to WDW News Today as we get closer to the grand opening of Phineas and Ferb Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure in late-June.

Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure is in the soft opening phase at Epcot. The game, similar to the former Kim Possible game, brings all the fun of the hit Phineas and Ferb TV show to the park.

Epcot guests will help Agent P stop the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz using a F.O.N.E. (Field Operative Notification Equipment). Our video below shows just part of one mission available in Japan. There are many other missions available in other country pavilions.

Guests become “agents” and use a “high-tech secret agent device” to search for clues. Different cases will also be available in Mexico, France, Germany, Norway, China and the United Kingdom. Guests follow instructions given on the screen of a cell phone to interact with objects hidden around World Showcase. There are different missions to complete in many of the different countries of World Showcase.

Check out this interview with Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh the co-creators of Phineas and Ferb, actor Vincent Martella who voices Phineas Flynn, and an Imagineer who worked on the project:

Let Agent P Take You on an Adventure Around the World at Epcot

posted on July 6th, 2012 by Jennifer Fickley-Baker, Social Media Manager

Attention secret agents! Your mission, beginning now, is to join Agent P in Epcot’s World Showcase to help him thwart the plans of the evil Dr. Doofenshmirtz.

ape018236SMALL.jpg

The fun is all part of Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, an interactive game that recently debuted to theme park guests and that is inspired by the popular Disney Channel series “Phineas and Ferb.” In it, guests use a F.O.N.E. (Field Operative Notifications Equipment) to scour World Showcase for clues and locate hidden evil “Inators.”

ape468948THUMB.jpg ape381096THUMB.jpg ape209865THUMB.jpg

Guests can participate by picking up a F.O.N.E. at one of four Agent P kiosks around World Showcase. Look for them at the Norway and Italy pavilions, near the Odyssey bridge and International Gateway. From there, the mission leads to different pavilions in World Showcase, including Mexico, Norway, Germany, Japan, France and the United Kingdom.

ape102836SMALL.jpg

“Guests are really responding well to the game,” said Imagineer Jonathan Ackley. “The greatest new surprise is when guests actually meet up with Perry the Platypus [a.k.a. ‘Agent P’] in person during their missions.”

Jonathan also hinted that more Agent P fun will debut later this summer.

“Doofenshmirtz is building new missions,” he said. “Also, keep an eye out for more Perry the Platypus!”

GREAT GLOCKENSPIEL! Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure in Germany

Aug 4, 2012 by wdwntadmin ico_post_comments.png1 Comment ico_post_date.png Posted under: Epcot

Picture-32.png

Phineas and Ferb: Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure recently debuted at Epcot replacing the former Kim Possible version of the attraction. The new version is eerily similar at times, but the saving grace has to be the writing for the new scenes. Phineas and Ferb is a show heavy on comedy and the attraction is no different. Each mission really is a mini-episode of the Disney Channel show, following the usual story arc. The second mission I had a chance to try out was Germany. Again, most of the effects were the same, but it felt fresh and exciting with the new characters, story, and comedy bits.
