For Lou and other pie loving folks, from Orlando Sentinel's Heather McPherson:

The 18th Annual APC/Crisco National Pie Championships is Friday through Sunday at the Caribe Royal All-Suite Hotel and Convention Center in Orlando and the free 11th Annual APC Great American Pie Festival is Saturday and Sunday in nearby Celebration.

The festival at Lakeside Park (631 Sycamore St.) will once again include the Never Ending Pie buffet' date=' baking demonstrations, a pie-eating contest and interactive activities such as pie-pan art. Last year, the buffet served 87,000 slices of pie. The buffet and children's activities are the only events that require admission at the festival. All stage entertainment and demonstrations are free.

Tickets for the buffet are $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-12 and seniors 65 and older. Kids' events, which include pie-making and eating, are $10 for participants ages 3-12 and $5 for adults.

Hours are 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.

By the way, the Key lime pie was adopted as Florida's official pie in 2006. To honor that, check out my blog today for some of my favorite recipes.[/quote']
