Silly question: Are there laundry facilities at the fort? We'll be about 5 days into our trip by the time we arrive and will probably have a load or 2 that need to be done. Also, are they just quarter machines, or can you charge it to your magic band? Thanks!

If you have not done so yet, you might want to make some touring plans now and decide on your fast pass + selections. You can make those 60 days out, since you are staying on property, and the popular rides tend to get booked early.
I have! Thanks for the advice, though; it's all new to me!

Hello! Does anyone know if the magic bands come in different sizes? If so, how do you measure? Do you have to request them in different sizes or does Disney judge by age? Thanks!

Thank you for the replies. I have had a reservation since February for 3 nights at Fort Wilderness and 3 day-passes to WDW. I will fax my request 5 days beforehand. Thanks for your help!

Hello! Heading to Fort Wilderness on August 4 (our first time visiting Disney) and I wasn't sure how this works...... Do I request a site/loop ahead of time, or when I arrive?
Thanks!

I don't see "dinner shows" as an option. Looks like "characters", "dining", "entertainment", "events & tours", etc. I'm looking on my iPhone. Any other suggestions?

I'm looking at My Disney Experience app and can't find either of these 2 restaurants in the dining section. I'd like to make a reservation like I have with Be Our Guest and Tusker House, but I can't find them. Perhaps they don't take reservations???
Thanks for any help you can give me!

Hello, all! We're headed to Fort Wilderness for our fist Disney vacation during the first week of August and I have a question. Can you view the fireworks from anywhere in the campground?

Alright... sorry I'm just posting these, but here are my favorite budget friendly meals....
1) Giddy Up and Go takeout dinner at Trail's End- Request all white meat and you get 10 breasts. For your crew of 5, you might want to add an extra side. Even so, you'll feed your whole family for about $33.
2) Pizza at Via Napoli in Epcot (TS)- This is a cheap meal if you stick to the pizza. The mezzo metro should feed your whole family, and the pizza here is fantastic. Seriously, really good. I think I've dreamed about it. The pitcher of sangria is also probably the cheapest adult beverage in Disney.
3) Sunshine Seasons in Epcot (CS)- This place has something for everyone. The kid's Caesar is huge, as are most of the adult portions. You get quality food too.
4) Trails End lunch (TS)- This isn't a buffet like lunch and dinner. The food is awesome and it's never crowded.
5) The Plaza in MK (TS)- This is mostly just sandwiches and salads, but the food is really good and not much more than a CS place. It books up because it's a semi-well known secret. Next time I go, I'm making Jason split a sandwich, so I'll have room for dessert.
Splurges that are worth it:
1) `Ohana
2) HDDR (your kids will like this more than you'd think)
3) Mickey's Backyard BBQ (your kids are a good age for this)
Thanks for the suggestions. These seem like really good options!

First of all, welcome!!!!!!!!!!! We hope you'll jump in and ask tons of questions.
So to answer your first... NO! I actually think the dining plan is a rip off for most people. They say you can save up to 20% or something, but that's only true if you always eat at the most expensive restaurants and always order the most expensive thing PLUS one dessert per person. Some of our favorite places to eat are not the most expensive.
Would you like some budget friendly dining suggestions? When are you going?
Thanks for the kind welcome! Yes, I would love budget friendly suggestions. We have 4 kids, ages 10, 8, 6 and 4. We will be coming for a few days during the first full week of August. Thanks!

Hello, we'll be 1st timers at WDW and I wondered if meal plans are necessary for campers at Fort Wilderness. (I didn't know how quickly we can make it from the campground to the park.). Thanks in advance!
